12 Chapter 12

Its been eight months since Kaz began his training with Korin, and it is going incredibly well. Now, Kaz wasn't a genius or anything when it came to fighting, but he does have a very powerful passion for it. He had never actually trained in martial arts techniques up until now, everything else he had been doing was just training for raw power. Death concentration and removing his limiter were just skills that enhanced raw abilities, but they didn't actually allow the user to use that power more effectively.

Now that he was able to actually learn true martial arts that he had always dreamed of learning, he didn't slack at any moment of the day or night. He wasn't training for power right now, so he always did the Wim Hof Method whenever he could, that way he could keep training throughout the night. And despite normally having absolutely shit concentration when meditating or practicing Ki, whenever he trained in martial arts he would do it for hours without a single break in his focus at all.

Korin had taught Kaz all of the basic building blocks of all martial arts instead of actual movements. This way, Kaz could easily just make up a move on the spot to counter his opponent instead of learning a move specifically for that situation beforehand. He taught him how to control both his own and his opponent's center of gravity and weight. He taught him about redirecting his opponent's attacks. He taught him how to detect and analyze every change in the environment around him using all of his senses, and much more.

After just eight he had already almost mastered these basics and was about to start learning about the more advanced rules of martial arts, however today he had remembered a technique from another anime that he had completely forgotten about. And he figured that now that he had learned the basics rules of martial arts, he might be able to begin recreating it.

So while Korin was sleeping, he stopped his normal training and looked around, making sure Korin really wasn't watching him. "Alright, let's try this out."

Getting into a stance that he felt very weird about, keeping his hands loose and finger's pointed down, he tried recreating it.

"Fist of Flowing Water Crushing Rock." He said out loud and started doing his best to mimic the movements from his memory. Now, he could have started trying out this move earlier, but he hadn't even considered it until the end of today's lesson on redirecting an opponent's attacks. After all, unlike the other techniques he had been trying to recreate which all came from martial arts manga, it came from a gag manga, so he hadn't even considered it.

However, after trying to think of a good way to use his new knowledge on redirecting and controlling an opponent's energy, he remembered this, which is supposedly the best martial art for redirecting an opponent's attack back at them. It's able to redirect any attack back at the opponent at double power. And it's supposed to work even on attacks that are significantly stronger than anything the user can produce.

Of course, there is a limit to how much stronger, but that still means he can fight people with significantly higher power levels than him. And, if Kaz can fully recreate and master this technique, he could teach it to Goku and the others, later on, this way they won't be in as much trouble when facing people stronger than them.

As of the time he had come here, there were only five known moves for this technique, and each seemed pretty overpowered. There was Water Stream Encampment, Instant Movement, Fang Interpolation, Abandonment, and Awakening Breath. However, other than these techniques, there was also the main style used for redirecting things. For now, Kaz was only focused on recreating the main style, and he wanted to do it as fast as possible. This was because what Kaz really wanted to learn from this style was Water Stream Encampment, as he knew that learning that technique would give him enough experience to fully recreate the first level of one of the three techniques that he had been trying to learn since he first reached Korin tower.

So, from then on, instead of his normal training, Kaz would work on recreating this style at night. At first, it wasn't actually effective at all and only served to look cool. However, as he began to learn more about redirecting an opponent's attack from Korin, Kaz was able to begin to actually recreate the style, albeit slowly. It took about a year for him to fully recreate the style. He was only able to do it in such a short amount of time thanks to Korin's lessons and his constant spars with him, otherwise recreating an entire martial art with only manga pages from his memory as a reference would have taken fifty years minimum.

After finally recreating the martial art, Kaz was finally able to switch gears and started recreating the technique that he needed, Water Stream Encampment. This was much easier to recreate as he already had the main style as a base and was much more knowledgeable by now in comparison to when he started working on the main style. So with this, he was able to completely recreate the move in only four months.

"Finally, I can now start working on the real technique. After all of this training and with my experience with the Water Stream Encampment, I should be skilled enough to work on the really good stuff." Kaz said to himself in excitement and started working. But this time he didnt check his surroundings and didnt notice the cat god watching him from the shadows.

He hadn't told Korin about any of his special training, but he figured that he already knew about it. And he was right, Korin had known. But for some reason, Korin wasn't able to read Kaz's thoughts on the technique. It got all distorted whenever Kaz thought about it. So while Korin did know that Kaz was making something, he also didnt know what it was going to be.

This is going to be a bit of a shorter chapter as it was more of a summery of the time skip then an actual chapter, but don't worry, we will be going back to the usual 2000 words next chapter. Also, it would be cool if you guys could leave a few ideas for techniques Kaz could recreate, but keep in mind that it has to fit the Dragonball world, so it has to be either a physical martial art or something that can work using Ki.

And if you feel like it, write a review. A novel on here needs at least ten to get a star ratting, and people are more likely to start reading if it has one of those. Anyway, thanks for reading.
