1 Prologue

On Scarlet Cloud mountain, Reapers cliff was one of the most dangerous places to be throughout the entire Divine Sky continent. The name Reapers Cliff originated from the immeasurable number of people that had died there, leading to the townspeople naming the mountain Scarlet Cloud mountain because of a thick, red, layer of fog, one which had the feeling and aura of blood was there year round.

Near the edge of the cliff was a young blonde hair, green eyed boy struggling to keep upright. Supporting himself next to a tree he stopped to take a breath, blood leaking down the side of his face and covering his arm. His arms had open cuts and wounds and his legs were covered in a mixture of dirt and blood. His chest was heaving up and down at such a fast pace you would be frightened looking at it. A light trail of blood was was visible from the naked eye coming from within the forest leading under his feet. He opened his right eye to look around the area, while the other one was too swollen to open. Within his eye, there was a fire burning within, his will to live burning with all its might. Each breath he took, he was struggling to keep from passing out.

Behind him caught up a group of dark cloaked figures with an Azure Phoenix Emblem on their chest's. Each person had their Swords drawn, pointed at him with a clear murderous intention. One of the hooded figures stepped forward.

"Fei Tian, Stop running and accept your fate! The heavens are not in your favor today, nor will they ever be as long as you exist within this realm. Stop being so adamant about it and hand over the Gold scale and maybe we will be merciful enough to leave your body here intact!"

The boy turned his head to look at the group and smiled, his face full of mockery and hatred. Naturally, this boy was Fei Tian. He squinted his eye and looked over at the hooded man and smiled even more.

"You guys wiped out the entirety of my family. My father, mother, sisters, and close relatives all died for the sake of this Scale." He leaned his head and spat out a mouthful of blood. "What makes you think that your mere threat is going to be enough to make me hand it over? Especially one coming from the sh*t filled mouth of the Chu Clan masters son?"

In the Divine Sky continent resides Twelve major Clans. The hooded figure who had stepped forward earlier was known as Chu Qing. He was the son of Chu Bo, The clan leader of the Azure Phoenix clan, one of the Twelve major clans.

Chu Qing glared at Fei Tian. If you could kill someone with a stare, Fei Tian simply wouldn't even have a body at this point because of Chu Qing. "Don't blame your bad luck, blame the heavens for it is there will to have the scale fall into the hands of my Azure Phoenix clan!" yelled Chu Qing as he charged over, sword drawn as he was followed by his personal guards close behind him.

Fei Tian reached into his pocket pulling out the Scale. He looked at it one last time before tightening his hand around it and turned around to look down into the dark abyss, unable to see the bottom. Unbeknownst to him, the moment he touched the scale, a drop of his blood had been absorbed into the scale. He looked up into the sky and whispered to himself, "Mother, Father, this unfilial son apologizes for not being able to keep what you entrusted with me safe. I would rather defy the will of the heavens and soar above them all rather than give into destiny and follow the path of fate set before me; for I am Fei Tian, I WILL DEFY HEAVENS WILL!"

Fei Tian then looked back to see Chu Qing and his guards nearing closer, he used the last of his strength to jump off the cliff, head first, into the abyss. The light in his eyes dimmed as he closed them tight thinking this would probably be the last time he would ever be able to close them in his life.

Chu Qing and his guards then abruptly stopped where they were stunned and unmoving. Chu Qing looked over, his eyes bulging, and his face full of shock. "This b*stard is committing suicide and trying to lose the scale instead of handing it over and dying honorably! NOOO!" Chu Qing fell onto his hands and knees looking over where Fei Tian stood before he jumped off desperately trying to search for traces of the Golden scale. Unfortunately to his disappointment, he found nothing.
