7 Dragon Queen

Long Yang opens his eyes to see nothing but darkness, his body floating in an abyss. "Where am I? Am I dead?" his voice echoes out eliciting no response. He reached out to his throat, "I-I can speak? I can speak! My arms, they-they're moving! I can move!"

Suddenly Long Yang felt a looming presence, a bright flash of light caused him to close his eyes. After recovering from the bright beam of light, he opened his eyes to see that the darkness was no longer there.

He was standing atop a myriad of clouds. He sees a large, long shadow in front of him and looks up. A dragon, with scales bright blue just like the blue sky, but also at the same time a deep azure like the depths of the ocean. Eyes that shine brighter than the highest grade of sapphire, claws leagues above the most precious ivory. It's presence so majestic even those of kings and emperors are beneath it. Long Yang's mind went blank but he quickly recovered.

"Wh-who are you? Where is this?" Long Yang flusteredly questioned the large creature in front of him.

The dragon opened its mouth and spoke in a booming yet melodic voice, "I am the Azure Dragon, ruler of the seas and sky. A divine beast of light and water."

Long Yang was speechless, "You, you, Azure Dragon!? Where is this? Am I dreaming?" His hand shaking as he reached towards his necklace for comfort. He tried grabbing it but his hand ended up grasping nothing but air. He looked down to see his necklace was missing.

"My necklace? My necklace! Where is it!?" Long Yang anxiously looked around him.

"Calm down, child. Where we are right now is your necklace. In your necklace lies a space separate from that of the real world." The Azure Dragon said in response to Long Yang to calm him down.

"We, we're in my necklace?" Long Yang asked with an eyebrow raised.

"You're here in the form of a soul. You were killed and at the time of your death, I brought your now unanchored soul into this space before it dissipated."

Long Yang brought his hands out in front of him and looked at them, fingers shaking. "Killed… so that all really happened… Me, my grandparents… we were slaughtered without resistance."

His body and eyes flickered bright red before turning black. Suddenly the black light flowed off his body like a liquid coalescing into a ball of darkness behind him. He returned to normal and turned around to look at the ball of darkness.

The Azure Dragon's eyes glinted with surprise, "this… no… it, it can't be."

The ball of darkness started thumping as if it was a heart. The ball slowly expanded as it kept on beating. Suddenly, it stopped beating. It shrank to its original size before expanding to a ball thrice its size when it had stopped beating.

The ball started to take shape, contracting and expanding. Five tendrils shot out to form different body parts. The tendrils slowly spiraled around, the darkness flowing like viscous black mercury. They each formed a part of a body, except it wasn't a human's body. It was that of a dragon's.

Not before long, a jet black dragon appeared in front of the two. The dragon looked very different from the Azure Dragon. In simple terms, the Azure Dragon was more akin to a serpent while the black dragon was more similar to that of a lizard.

The black dragon opened its eyes. Its eyes were black with a menacing glint as it looked towards the Azure Dragon. "I can't believe my eyes, to be able to see you face to face, Qing Long."

The Azure Dragon responded, "I feel the same. I thought I'd never see you again after the continental split, Tiamat."

Tiamat snorted, "Hmph, I have no business with you." She looked towards Long Yang, "my business is with you, my master."

Long Yang looked left and then right before pointing at himself, "who? Me!?!"

She puffed out some air in dissatisfaction, "of course it's you, who else?" She pointed one of her fingers towards him, "you awakened me through your rage, resentment, confusion, and fear. Your negative emotions caused my awakening as your Spirit soul and now I am yours."

Long Yang gulped, "I don't… I don't quite understand."

Tiamat opened her mouth and roared. A gust of air buffeted Long Yang causing him to back off a few steps. "You don't understand? You don't understand!?! You have the power of Tiamat, the demonic dragon god, ruler of the chromatic dragons, the queen of destruction on your side! Or have you forgotten! Forgotten what you went through, the helplessness you felt as you watched your close ones die! I will give you the strength to take revenge! Destroy those who stand in your way!"

Long Yang looked down at his feet, "I… I…" He looked up at Tiamat right into her eyes.

She smirked, "now that's a nice look in your eyes. You seem to understand now. I may be almighty but as I am now, the amount of aid I can provide you is limited. In addition to the forced awakening taking a lot of my strength, my current form is a weakened version of my peak. As you get stronger, the more power I will unlock that I can give you. So do your best to get stronger. As for your current situation… that repulsive dragon over there probably has a solution."

After saying her piece, Tiamat flashed black and turned back into a dark viscous liquid that swirled around before it dashed towards Long Yang. The liquid fused into his body as it touched his chest. His body gave off a black light for a split second before returning to normal.
