Chapter 6: Hybrid Form

Kenshin was watched by everyone in the area as he sat in one of the seats.

Defeating a wizard of this level couldn't be trivial to the public after all. He wasn't bothered by those looks. Rather, he had put himself in meditation to be able to recover the magic lost during this fight even if he had not used much of it.

The various duels had taken place then the quarter-finals had arrived. There were 8 people left including Kenshin himself. He hadn't dwelled on the other fights since he had already grasped how the hybrid form worked even though he didn't know the key to be able to activate it. Not everyone had hybrid forms, some had non-complete forms but the true hybrid form was not shown according to Kenshin because he found it to be very weak.

'Maybe those who have mastered this form are the Stars and above. It is above all a person's talent that determines the future limit, whatever the Bloodline. My duel has arrived, I am against a possessor of dragon blood, it can get interesting if he resists my pressure.' His name and that of his opponent were called by Akemi to join the field.

His opponent was called Kojima Hideo and was a Japanese like him. He was a handsome young man in his late teens with a slim and petite height of 1m65. He had short black hair and black eyes typical of a Japanese. He was also a legendary magician but less influential than Alex.

Kenshin watched his facial expression under his hood. He did not emanate an arrogant or contemptuous air, but rather friendly and willful.

Hideo was about to attack his opponent, but he suddenly encountered eyes in the darkness created by the hood which was looking at him with a dominant air of superiority.

He saw the image of a blue eastern dragon behind him then suddenly knelt down unable to resist the oppression caused by Kenshin.

'What is happening to me ? My body refuses to move. Am I scared ? No !! I can't lose here after after the last promise I made with my sister !!'

He managed to get up slightly with his legs bent and his head forward, his whole body shaking with fear but his willpower allowed him to reveal himself.

'Oh ? He manages to get up thanks to this will that he has in him.' Kenshin was slightly surprised by the boy in front of him.

"What makes you so determined ?" Kenshin wanted to test the boy in front of him.

"I...I promised my sister that I would become a stronger man so that I could survive this world !

He charged on Kenshin without noticing that he had been released from the pressure. He threw a blow into the air during his frenzy, but a purple portal was created at the same time.

The purple portal appeared directly in front of Kenshin's abs, he managed to dodge it thanks to his superhuman senses even though he was slightly mentally astonished.

Hideo continued to throw a series of jabs into the void with a few kicks as he attacked Kenshin in melee at the same time. Small portals were appearing more and more and more quickly in Kenshin. He avoided them carefree while at the same time decked out a few.

'This boy gets better in the heat of battle by becoming more and more proficient in his interesting space magic. If this continues like this, I will have to use my dragon aura. But, that is enough for now. He will die of insufficient magic if we continue the fight. Still, His hybrid form is interesting and his magic is based mainly on the space element.'

Kenshin activated his dragon aura then instantly stopped both Hideo's fists then put a magically reinforced knee kick to his abdomen.

Hideo coughed up blood from the impact, his dragon characteristics dissipated thus returning to his original form. He was now on his knees holding his stomach in pain with wide eyes before Kenshin began to speak.

"Sorry for saying all this. It was only to test yourself to your fullest ability as you have great untapped potential within you with strong willpower. You earn my respect for this point though, be proud of yours abilities by getting stronger over time and stick with your goals." Despite Kenshin's stoic face, his words were sincere.

He suddenly appeared behind Hideo and then knocked him out with a final blow to the back of the neck. He caught her falling body and then placed it gently on the ground before leaving.

'I will fight him again once he gets stronger, his magic and physical strength are not bad, he also has potential in magic control. Not a noble dragon clan for nothing anyway.'

"Zakiri Kenshin wins again his duel against the legendary magician, thus making him pass in the semi-final !!" Akemi's announcement made the audience applaud excited by the new individual's new victory.

After his fight, Kenshin returned to the stands and then closed his eyes again to meditate but that wasn't entirely the case. He was also focusing on his senses other than sight. He watched the duels, listening to the sound of the footsteps and the body odor of the people on the pitch. He was able to reconstruct their faces simply with these two senses. This training was very effective if the opponent is faster than him or for ambushes. Stealthy things could also be spotted by him.

This is how an hour passes after the quarter-finals were over. Kenshin had found an opponent who could be a potential threat to him. He was a legendary magician in terms of rank. His strength was close to his but not stronger than him, but in recounting the hybrid form he will not be without vigilance against him.

It was a candidate named Endo Takeshi. He's a tall, slightly tanned 20-foot man a little older than himself with explosive muscles, he had a mocking face and a fighting mad gleam in his eyes, according to Kenshin.

He destroyed his first opponent with just a single punch to the chest. He had heard the creaking bones of the candidate who was against him. His second opponent managed to make him use magic with an element. It was red colored fire. The opponent ended up with charred legs with burn marks on his chest. But Kenshin noticed that the flames were not well contained. Its hybrid form remains unknown to him.

Kenshin will only fall against him in the final, his next opponent was a woman named Tagagi Yuna in her early 20s with great curves and big breasts. She had dark hair tied in a ponytail down to the middle of her back. She had a serious face without the slightest disturbance despite the lustful looks of the men on her.

She was a legendary sorceress too but Kenshin did not find her very strong even if she uses a hybrid form, he will be able to defeat her without problems.

They were face to face, Kenshin still wearing his hoodie while Yuna had black shorts and a cropped white tee that ended above her belly button.

"I want you to fight me seriously without restraint, Zakiri Kenshin !" did she say with her serious tone.

"I won't hold back. Whether it's a man or a woman, a fight is a fight." he said indifferently as Yuna nodded to show her satisfaction.

"The duel can begin !!" Akemi announced the departure.

Kenshin launched the first attack this time around. His direct kick was stopped by Yuna who had crossed her arms. He went straight on with a flipback and kicked again to the right side of his chest. She also stopped this blow with her left arm and her right hand.

She retaliated with a rotating kick to hit Kenshin's abdomen but he grabbed her foot and then swung it a few yards away. She regained her stability then ran towards Kenshin with consecutive jabs.

Kenshin always dodged or blocked punches with ease. She was aiming for her vital points all the time with each of her shots. He could also see that his physical strength was not weak, he was probably a person with martial art skills. Neither had used magic yet, they were just enjoying the melee combat.

She also threw blows with the edge of her hand on the head or even the right side of the torso to try to damage the liver because it was one of the most fragile organs that can impact any person if the blow is well done.

Kenshin saw what she was trying to do. She also knew that her only way to win was to be able to hit him in one of her vital points. But it was useless, since his physical strength was stronger than his opponent.

He followed this up with a punch to her abdomen and then a punch to the chest, which was blocked by her. It was only a bait, his right leg directly hit both of Yuna's feet to knock her down.

She didn't expect to take such a quick hit, she didn't have time to dodge and then took the kick, knocking her down to the left side. Kenshin spun around and then kicked left in the stomach.

She coughed up blood and then was thrown a few feet to the ground. She had taken Kenshin's blow in her stomach, the blow paralyzed her for a few moments before she could stand up with difficulty.

"How dare he not hold back against Yuma ! This guy has no heartb!"

"He doesn't even hold back against women, he's a bully this guy !"

The audience was mildly angry with Kenshin for being so violent against a woman, but they didn't insist as it was the rules of a duel.

Kenshin didn't wait for her to get up, he appeared behind her and then went to slash his fist on the back of her neck. She turned to catch the blow but couldn't block it due to the persistent pain in her stomach. The blow eventually landed on Yuma's head, she fell unconscious and then landed on Kenshin's shoulder. He could smell a very good scent of the woman from his shoulder because of his dragon scent but it didn't affect him.

"A strong woman in melee. She didn't use her hybrid form because it's something useless against me or because she just wanted to enjoy the fight without using her transformation. It was a good fight, I enjoyed this spars." He gave Yuma's body to the medical team and then walked to the stands.

He had noticed Takeshi's intense gaze on him.

It was no wonder that a combat madman was interested in him. He mentally sighed and then sat down in his seat waiting for the final.

He didn't watch the duel because he had already had a general overview of this guy. A monster that puts out big hits, user of fire magic, it was not difficult to understand by seeing his fighting style.

The duel took place for only a few minutes, Takeshi had already finished defeating his opponent without killing him. The candidate's condition is so...A man with broken limbs and blood flowing from wounds all over his body.

The audience had horrified eyes while those with children had their eyes hidden so they wouldn't see such a bloody spectacle.

"I see. Good luck getting there, I guess." Kenshin was still calm but his intuition tells him that he may be more dangerous than he thought.

Takeshi is the first to attack, his fire punches wanted to smash Kenshin. He ran towards him, creating cracks with every step. He appeared in front of Kenshin then punched him.

Kenshin slid his hands over Takeshi's right arm, narrowly avoiding the blow. His hands burned slightly from the powerful blow of the man.

He then grabbed the arm with both hands and then started to lift it with all his strength and threw it violently on the ground, making a crater.

Takeshi just smiled then stood up with a forward flip and attacked Kenshin with more intense fire in his hands.

His punches became more and more powerful as the fight went on. Kenshin also managed to punch but that was ineffective against the monster in front of him.

No longer able to block the blows, Kenshin was hit in the chest, leaving a burn all over the top. He was thrown a few meters on the ground. He stood up and then wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth ignoring her top which had become burnt, revealing the eastern dragon tattoo.

The girls in the audience were eyeing Kenshin's perfect body with her face which is also visible because of the hood which was also ripped off.

Kenshin's face was stoic but blood was flowing from the right side of his lips. He simply wiped away the blood and then spat out the rest that was in his mouth.

"I admit that was a strong blow. You even broke a few ribs, I guess I have to get serious now."

A dagger suddenly appeared in his hand, it was Kuroken. He had already warned that he had a gun but he had just never taken it out.

"Oh ? A dagger ? You use a weapon, interesting !! Come fight !! I want more !!" Takeshi ran with a crazy smile towards Kenshin.

Kenshin was still on the spot with his stoic face. He strengthened his magic dagger then made a vertical movement, a magic slash aimed at high speed at Takeshi. He paid no attention to the attack and then continued his frenzy. Kenshin's attack severed his left arm, He wasn't paying attention to his body, only Kenshin was in his eyes with a kill intent.

The assassin was surprised that he was not affected mentally, he even continued to run at him.

'This man has gone totally mad, but for him to be so confident it must have been his hybrid form.' Kenshin ran towards him and punched him with his dagger.

He was giving him lots of cuts and deep wounds. The man attacked him relentlessly, Kenshin taking the punches with difficulty while having blood flowing from his wounds and his mouth.

He eventually ramped up the fight and then activated his dragon aura. He gave Takeshi a vertical blow, Blood splashed all over his chest.

He had managed to make a deep gash on his body, the fight should be over.

Kenshin put his dagger away then looked indifferently at the kneeling man in front of him.

"Give up or you'll die if this continues. You can't win."

"Give up ? Hahahaha ! Dumbest joke I've heard ! The fight has only just begun !!!' A dark aura surrounded Takeshi then a roar came out of his mouth.

His skin had turned red. A black tail with the tip in the shape of a triangle came out behind him. His height had increased to 250cm, the wounds in his body were healing at a very fast rate.

The pressure around him was enough to intimidate the people around him.

"The game continues, it's my turn now." The man smiled sadistically then appeared in front of Kenshin with a huge punch.

He spat out a mouthful of blood, received another punch to the head and then flew off about ten meters.

He got up despite all the broken bones and injuries to his body. He was able to heal but it became more and more complicated because of his lack of blood.

He knew that Endo was surpassing him physically and in speed, there was nothing he could do in front of him. His strongest attack won't be enough to kill him since his regeneration is monstrous.

But he will still fight this man to exceed his limits !

He suddenly felt two crunches in his legs. Takeshi had kicked him horizontally on his knees. His bones had clearly shattered into a thousand pieces, he fell to his knees still looking indifferently at the man in front of him.

"It was a good sound I heard, I will torture you as a reward before you can forfeit." The man had grabbed Kenshin's right arm and then shattered it with a knee kick.

Kenshin was groaning slightly in pain, he had been through worse so that wasn't going to make him scream.

"Oh? You're pretty tough. Don't worry, I won't do it for a long time." He continued with Kenshin's other arm and then broke the arm with his hands.

The audience watched with eyes of horror in front of them. They were literally seeing a torture scene live. This man is inhuman to do that to this young man.

The girls in the stands had expressions of angry, sadness and pity for Kenshin.

Shun was looking at all of this with a slight glare as he doesn't want to lose such a strong recruit by a mere wizard of this level. But his intuition told him that Kenshin had not yet shown his current strength.

The man continued to break every bone in Kenshin enjoying himself as his face was still indifferent.

'He will kill me at this rate. I lost too much blood... Shit...I can't die so pathetically like the betrayal I had with Hana in my past life...I still have a goal and I would not give up !!!' His blood started to boil and her eyes turned white.

Takeshi stepped back a few yards feeling Kenshin's change. He released a smirk as he guessed it was Kenshin's hybrid form.

Kenshin stood up, still with white eyes with his blood that was hotter than fire. His hair was fluttering, the atmosphere started to shake because of him.

He suddenly opened his mouth and then started to instinctively roar. The cry of an angry dragon was heard all over town.

* ROAARRRRRRRR * The scream echoed throughout town. All the weak people were paralyzed with fear in the face of the majestic and dominant cry, it was the awakening of a king.

Shun and the stars were also shocked that Kenshin had such a powerful and dominant roar, even they were slightly stunned by him.

'What kind of monster woke up Takeshi, even I was affected by that roar...' Shun was lost in thought as the Stars stared at Kenshin.

A few of them had a tremendous shiver down their spine, they were even more affected by the rest since they have dragon blood in them. (I will introduce them later)

Kenshin's hair lengthened to his back, his hair had turned completely dark blue. His skin became lighter than before, his eyes were the same.

His wounds had healed at a phenomenal rate.

His emotionless face exuded a higher wisdom and superiority than the rest. He had astonishment, no dragon characteristics.

"The hybrid form therefore requires strong emotion as well as blood beating at full speed. You. For humiliating me, you must die." Kenshin pointed his finger at Takeshi.

He suddenly exploded under Kenshin's immeasurable magic.

Kenshin looked at the blood that left Takeshi's body. He reached out and then used the magic of space to make it all disappear into an empty dimension.

Kenshin suddenly had a headache then lost his new form and reverted to his human form. He had kept the skin lighter but the hair had shortened to his shoulders but still long for a boy. His dragon instincts had taken over.

He summoned some new clothes for him and looked at the Stars booth to await the outcome. But he got a voice in his head before that.

{Ding ! The host has awakened his hybrid form as well as a lot of dragon blood!

He had to go up 4 floors with stairs. The first two floors were places of commerce as he thought. The third was a floor with hotel rooms, which it assumed to be luxury and exclusive to Stars and more. But he was not allowed to go so he continued to climb.

The top floor was a long hallway with a large door at the end of it. He opened the door and finally came to the large meeting room. (I have already described it in chapter 4)

He went straight down to the large illuminated round table at the front of all the seats.

He saw only 5 figures there, he assumed that the other Stars had not come.

He suddenly heard a voice speaking in the room.

"Welcome to our meeting room, Zakiri Kenshin. I'm glad you accepted our invitation." Shun said.
