23 23 Aftermath

Joon had a strong belief in his power of self control. He knew clearly how it felt when he lost it. Very aware of the signs, he fought to control his rising feelings for Gold. Consuming Diamond had lessened his cravings, but his need for her was different.

Joon took to the sky to clear his thoughts. Flying always helped to organize his mind. The wind made him feel weightless and free. He became lost in the feel of his stretched out wings cutting through the clouds. His muscles contacted with each thrust upwards into the sky. He was gliding now against the winds, when thoughts began to wonder. He thought on his past and whether he had a future with Gold. Could he keep her as a companion or... will he end up consuming her like the rest? He began to drastically drop in altitude at the thought. He had to regain focus to stop his descend for the heavens.

Gold awoke with the sun cascading it's light onto her eye lids. A shadow passed above her head causing the light intensity to waver. As she raised her eyes upward till she recognized Joon. He was glorious in full form gliding against the endless blue sky. As her heartrate increase she realized her affinity towards him had grown after the brawl. Lost in the idea, she rolled over on her back and just watched as he made circles through the sky. Her eyes drifted back and forth as if in a trans. Her mind cleared of all else and hyper focused on drawing him near.

They continued this way until Gold fell back to sleep. Sensing her energy lower again, Joon descended from the sky more at ease. He approach Gold and she opened her eyes. He viewed her against the lush green grass. The blades were soft and long. Joon smelled spring flowers in the breeze. She had become fully part of this realm. Her presence was now at one and intertangled with it's elements. Something about her seemed suddenly permitted, like she was not going to disappear from this plane.

There was a new found respect between them.
