19 19 Other appetites

Gold wanted more of Joon. Her craving increased the more they indulged on one another. Her mind became acutely focused as she lost herself in the moment.

Joon was losing himself as well, but having trouble stopping. This was not part of his plan. He wanted to wait for this meal. It was difficult to pivot back on track. She was delicious and her touch was magnetic. Finally he just lended back and allowed both of them to fall freely into the water. The cool refreshing water brought Joon's senses back.

The water was unexpected for Gold, and rapidly sobering.

They both stood up in the wasted deep water. "You need to eat, something without side effects.", Joon concerned expression was back. His mind recalled the food he dropped. "Wait here." He flew off again and returned in a few minutes with the simple food he had previously gathered. "Please eat these.", Joon requested.

Gold felt his sincerity and exited the water to meet him at the bank. They ate the food waterside, quietly.

After the meal Joon gave Gold sometime to rest in flight. They were a few hours from their destination. Joon could hear her even breaths and it comforted him. Her heart beating strong gave him strength.

The air developed a chill that woke Gold from her dream. Her mind was back to normal, but other things were not.

"What did I eat?" Gold whispered in Joon's left ear.

He was overcomed to hear her awake. Her voice sent a sensation down his spine at the memory of that afternoon. "Some of the mushrooms you had have mental effects. I will show you later which to avoid for the future. You are lucky you did not throw up. How does your stomach feel?"

Gold had to think about it a little while, but she concluded she felt normal. All the positive attention Joon was showing her made her question if she should tell him she felt fine. She slightly concealed her current health self assessment. "I feel..., not ready to eat again.", She assured him.

She noticed an animal skin was covering her body. A vague question formed, she let it go. Gold held the skin tighter as they flew on through the sky.

Joon's voice broke through the silent evening, "Look there just beyond that peek is were we can sit and watch the North lights. There is also a cave for tonight's shelter."

Gold's enthusiasm increased with that information.

Joon's mind had been racing all afternoon. He kept replaying the events from the day. The fear of potential harm coming to her, the depths of his desire that was increasing for her, and the past he wanted to forget. His thoughts worked overtime in his head.

Shortly after they landed at the mouth of the cave Joon took his human form. Gold stared deep into the cave trying to catch any light. Joon reach out with one hand and gently grabbed her arm to turn her around. He wanted her full attention. He meant to give her instructions, but once he looked into her eyes he fell in. Control was lost.

He kissed her and they withdrew into the cave. He could taste her energy rising. He had planned to wait to absorb her, but the taste made it to hard. His appetite was ignited in the water earlier. Waiting was no longer in his mind.

Gold could not be more pleased that Joon was picking up were they left off. Something deep inside her wanted to merge with Joon...
