43 The Turbulent World

Kyren woke up in his apartment room the next morning with Maya and Rayna in the same bed as him. Morning light started to seep through the curtains creating a relaxing ambience. Maya was in a deep and exhausted sleep as she's been working hard lately. He kissed each of them on the forehead before making a note and taking off.

He communicated with the churches Void Master and he agreed to start teaching him today. The Templars and what's left of Edmund were still scouring the city for the Dragon Slayer that attacked them but they have had no results. The tens of thousands of players that entered the region also didn't help things.

As he walked down the street, he skimmed through a spellbook he bought from the library the other day. It was small and exclusively for the tier II spell [Auto Equip/Unequip]. Now that he was focusing more on his personal strength, he needed to be able to use Gene Transformation without destroying his clothes.

Auto Equip removed your chosen equipment, item, or weapon from your Dimensional Storage and automatically equipped it to your person, and vice verse for storing stuff. Soul binding was still far better in almost all aspects and it didn't cost mana or mental energy to use but this spell was more flexible as it he could even equip consumables and items he wasn't soul bound to.

Before he knew it, he arrived at the location the Void Master gave him, 'A dead-end alleyway?'

He hesitantly stepped inside and void mana instantly surrounded him. The next second he disappeared and reappeared in a small study with hand-written notes and bookshelves coating the walls everywhere while slightly dimmed lanterns covered the room.

The old man floated near the ceiling as he read a large book that hovered on its own near his face, "Ahh, you're finally here... Let's get going I guess."

The man landed on the ground and raised his hand as though he was going to chop the very fabrics of space and time... and he did. His chop could be seen digging into something invisible and ripping down like it was a piece of paper.

The tear opened wider and wider until he made it to stop and it was big enough for them to get through.

<HAHAHA!! Good luck with this guy! I pray for you once you're on the other side.>

"?????"

<Just know that I will be forced to go into a dormant state once you're inside because I'm not allowed to enter. Any places in this game that are powerful enough to suppress any super AI helpers of a being in even just the mortal realm, such as me, will not be conventional nor safe no matter how you look at it.>

Kyren stopped himself before walking in and his complexion became ashen, "Are you sure this is safe?"

"Yes, kind of... If you're as strong as I think you are."

"Then how come your other disciple hasn't died yet?!"

Simply because I haven't brought Edmund here yet because he's nowhere near strong enough. I'm also surprised you can tell the danger on the other side without thorough void knowledge."

Red flags went up everywhere as he questioned why he was so trusting of someone from the church... All of them are back-crap crazy!! He was about to take action and try everything in his power to escape but a maniacal expression appeared on the old man's face that perfectly matched his mad-scientist demeanor.

The air around the portal started vacuuming him in but the surrounding study and old man were unaffected. He tried to use his martial stances to resist but he was ultimately forced to plunge in as he was being lifted off the ground. Cursing the crazy old man inwardly was all he could do before disappearing into the portal.

.....

When he came out of the portal, cold and smooth looking metallic obsidian crystal vibrated violently under his hands and knees. Before he even got up and look around, he could tell this was no regular place as the mana density was suffocating even for a dragon.

Mana usually felt to him like he was in a nice and small soothing spa, but this... this felt like he was submerged in a malicious and boiling ocean that threatened to scald and crush him to death even with his abnormally powerful magical resistance. This pressure was only someone in the Transcendent Realm could endure enough to execute even the most basic of movements.

"Young one, you are the first being in the Mortal Realm to survive this long here... Welcome to the God's playground, otherwise known as The Turbulent World!"

<Congratulations on discovering a new dimension, [The Turbulent World]... This world is meant for beings one realm above yours... rewarding additional experience.>

Leo's sophisticated and calm voice was replaced with the generic and monotone systematic female voice.

He tried to shift his body but the mana wouldn't let him move an inch even with the level ups bonus attributes.

"How—can—you—move—if—you're—only—an—S~grade!?!" His voice was raspy and distorted from being squished to the ground with the weight of an entire ocean. If he wasn't a dragon with an insane fortitude attribute and magical aptitude, he would've died for sure the second he entered. He could tell that the Void Master was moving freely by the sounds of his almost carefree footsteps.

"Perhaps I'll tell you some other time, our time here won't last long enough so we must hurry. Ways into the Turbulent World aren't easy to obtain..."

He bent down and lifted Kyren's head slightly. His index finger was placed into the center of his forehead and he twisted it like a key in a lock. The magical pressure was somewhat alleviated and he slowly got up and dusted himself off while looking around finally.

"!!!!!"

The entire world looked like the inside of one tremendously massive circular geode! With his draconic senses, he could only see two-fifths of it before he couldn't see any farther. Every crystal was a different shape, size, and color with all of them having a dull but vibrant metallic texture.

In the center of the geode was a bright glow of opalescent light similar to a star but more of in a perfect cube that rotated in random directions, making erratic and unpredictable motions. Floating chunks of metallic crystal landmasses, looking like islands, orbited the sun-cube in many layers as though gravity never existed. Multi-colored thunderstorms randomly dotted different areas of the world making the atmosphere feel chaotic as a din dominated the entire world.

The gravity here was also wonky as he was being pushed down from the sun-cube. It felt considerably different than the usual pull of gravity. This notion was like him walking on the inside of a ball which was weird to think about.

Below in the crystals crevices, flowed rivers of some kind of shimmering gold liquid that represented a glowing lava. This place truly deserved its name.

"That expression you're making was similar to mine when I first discovered this place with my master..... These crystals are commonly called manatium back on Irona, the fourth level of solid-state magicule cluster density. Its rarity is supposedly so great that one chunk can only be found every couple of millennia.

The liquid down there is Ichor, or liquid of the Gods. I suggest you don't touch or go near it if you don't want a fate worse than death...

You'll be training here under me to better understand magic and the void as I promised."

"What is this place?! Is everything here so valuable?" If Kyren took off his mask now, he can't imagine the consequences.

"Yes but you must not take anything less you feel the wrath of every God in existence. This world is for beings in the Transcendent and Celestial Realm. It's sacred ground for all.

Now save any questions for later, we don't have much time so we must get to work. The manatium we are currently on is of the darkness element so let's start here..."

He got down into a meditation position with his fingers intertwined in his lap, "Get into a comfortable position and start sensing the dark mana around you. You should have an affinity for this element if you can use void mana." He closed his eyes and the atmosphere around him turned tranquil as very small amounts of magicules started drawing into him.

Kyren did the same and found a comfortable position. He closed his eyes and started slowly reaching out to the mana around him using his willpower alone. He forgot about nearly being killed by the crazy ok man and he got excited to finally learn about the void.

He's never really noticed it, but all of the elements gave him different feelings when he came into contact with or used them. There wasn't only darkness, but every element nearby also. He grasped at any magicules he could get his hands on.

Dark magic was eerie and quiet but addictively calming. There was something tyrannical and chaotic about it that made him tingle.

Light magic had structure and order that made him feel safe. It also felt overwhelming and stunning at times.

Fire magic was like a warm blanket that made him feel like he couldn't sit still and he needed to burst with energy. It was innately violent and ambitious as it spread throughout him.

Water magic kind of felt like he got into a shower after a long day, soothing his blood and bones. It felt tranquil like the horizon of a vast lake but also slightly suffocating.

Wind magic felt forceful and unrestrained with a difficulty to stay still, kind of like fire magic but in a different way. He felt like even mighty mountains couldn't halt his movements.

Earth magic made him feel solid and sturdy like a fortress but extremely ancient. He felt versatile like he could be sculpted into anything so long as he thought hard enough.

Death magic was unpredictable but accepting of him no matter his faults. It made him feel a little less different than everyone else like a great equalizer. He should've felt like it was scary but it was more like darkness magic without the addiction and more serene.

Life magic felt full of vigor but overwhelmingly desperate. It was addicting like the darkness but more in the way that he needed more of it but could never get enough.

Mental or soul magic felt personal and unique to only him. There was a sensation of being complete and clear of thoughts.

Each feeling got deeper and more defined as the seconds in his head ticked by. 'There something off though... where's the void mana? Why can't I feel it?'

When he's utilized the void magic before, he would draw it from somewhere but he couldn't figure out from where. His head went into overdrive as his thoughts raced to find the feeling the void gave him.
