27 Pocket Change

After a while of silence, a man with a fancy looking curly mustache walked in and greeted them, he then sat down and looked at the beauty with the blue mask.

"Miss Aqua, I've heard you have something to sell at our auction? I am Ferdinand, the manager, and I shall inspect the item you have brought."

Maya smiled and snapped her fingers. The almost invisible guard came to an open area and raised her hand. Large cracks in space opened and a flood of items came pouring out like a river.

Due to the enhancements in Kyren's dimensional storage because of his void affinity, he was capable of opening his storage even if it were miles away. Rayna release a unique mana signal so he'd open it where she designated.

They had to go with this plan because the girls didn't have a large enough dimensional storage to store all of the parts.

Although the people were surprised by the massive mana signatures coming off of the crack in space and materials, Ferdinand immediately got to work and inspected them with many spells and skills.

"T-this can't be!?!"

The mound kept growing as Ferdinand stared at the claw in his hand.

"THESE ARE ALL YOUNGLING DRAGON PARTS OF TOP QUALITY!?!"

"I'd like for you to sell them in intervals. I need a little pocket money so I got permission to sell some excess materials..."

The room went silent as they tried to process what they just heard. That mound that continued to grow was worth thousands of platinum and she treated it as though it was spare change!

Rayna was greatly impressed with Maya's impeccable performance, she would have to notify Kyren so she could be rewarded.

"L-Lady Aqua, how does 15- no 10% commission sound?"

Usually the auction house would ask for 20%-25% commission from even the most influential of nobility, only royalty would get such a low commision.

Although the amount he proposed sounded ludicrous, it actually killed two birds with one stone. They would still make a massive profit while they avoided offending whoever supplied these materials.

"That sounds great."

"Good, then we'll separate them into 12 intervals and ask for 200 platinum minimum per batch. I'll also arrange for a VIP room for you to watch the auction."

"Alright," Maya placed a small piece of paper on the table and slid it to the edge closer to Ferdinand, "I also want this to be said at the end of the auction."

At the front gates where the dragon napped, Jarred sat criss crossed while glaring at it with a mix of hate and fear. He's never felt so weak in his entire life and he hated it.

Ever since the dragon was sighted, the guard commander sent guards out to reroute any travelers that were on their way to the front gate to another gate to avoid a commotion.

Kyren noticed Jarreds stares but decided he shouldn't get involved with such an asshole. If he was truly strong enough to kill an A~grade being at all, then he would do it without hesitation for the way he treated Maya. That internal strike he threw earlier used most of the mana and stamina he had so he was still recovering. Kyren only had around the strength of C~grade being so he was absolutely no match for Jarred.

While he waited for the girls, he didn't get bored because he had time to think about the future and recover for the flight back.

This large bluff they were trying to pull off had three main objectives. The first was money which they needed desperately, the second was to pave a way for his organization to be born, and the third was to make some connections and a stable source of income for the future.

While he was deep in his thoughts, he felt odd stares coming from the direction of the wall. There wasn't any killing intent or weird emotions, it was the people that were looking at him that made him feel funny.

Private beta players....

Kyren jerked up and turned around to look at the section of the wall where the players stood. Everyone jumped when he moved so abruptly but he didn't care, he only cared about the seven on the wall. All of them were in guard uniforms and they had looks of admiration as they stared at him.

"You seven, come to me."

The guards and Jarred were shocked not just by the dragon's actions, but more so by the people's reaction. They looked giddy as they practically skipped over to him without hesitation.

If anyone heard the players conversation though, they would believe they were the greatest of fools for even having such thoughts.

"I can't believe we can actually get to see a dragon as soon as we get on guard duty! This place is truly the greatest fantasy ever!"

"Is this an event? Why did it call us out?"

"Maybe it will give us a legendary mission or something?"

"I'm kinda bored being a guard. Do you think if we ask nicely it will let us ride it?"

"That would be sick! Maybe we can follow it or something and tame it? It might already be tamed though...*sigh*"

When they arrived before the dragon, Kyren stared at them for a sec as though assessing them.

There was one that caught his attention. He was a skinny but muscular man in his late 30s with long and messy onyx black hair pulled back with a tie. A nicely groomed goatee grew on his chin.

The man's depressed and exhausted look kind of reminded him of Riza, but with some distinct differences. His amber eyes looked dangerous and threatening despite his obvious efforts to be respectful and polite in his presence. He also radiated a gangster or mafia boss like aura and demeanor that would unsettle any within his mere presence. Despite all of this, he was still quite handsome in a unique way.

Kyren noticed him because of his strong elemental affinity for the darkness element. The only way to achieve that was to be a top one hundred lottery winner or obtaining a special item. He noticed it just barely because of the faint mana he was unconsciously letting off.

"You are all special? Are there more of you?"

"There aren't right now but in a couple of days, our numbers will multiply," The dark element user acted as the leader and answered for them.

"Hmmm, if you and your colleagues wish for power, head to Kassio. If you can find a girl named Aqua or Cerulean Dragon, then you might benefit greatly... Although you're all extremely weak, those immortal souls of yours might come in handy."

In AlKo online, players are considered beings with immortal souls. If they died, their bodies would reform in a safe location after sapping some strength (levels or experience). If their body died of old age, then they would be forced to go through the reincarnation process again and lose all of their progress.

Souls are the personality/ego, memories and ideals with a body to anchor it. Spirits are souls that have lost their bodies, therefore losing their anchors to their world and are sent to the spirit world to await judgement, reincarnation or eternal servitude.

Players can't become full blown spirits because immortal souls take a u-turn when they lose their anchor on their world (or body) and instead go back to revive. The only way to stop this infinite process or permanently kill an immortal soul is to destroy or eradicate the soul itself.

The players were confused about why they didn't receive a mission from Kyren's words. Then they thought that they had to find this Aqua character to initiate the mission.

Since he was much more powerful than them, they didn't know he was a player so they thought this was a rare encounter with a legendary npc. If they had an observer ability, maybe they could've seen through hi little act.

Players can actually give out missions because of the godlike system in the game. But for that to happen, they need a clear reward that they can provide and an objective. Kyren was to vague in both areas to fabricate a mission.

He began asking them questions that only players would know to pass some time. The humans watching this exchange couldn't help but feel dumbstruck by what they were hearing from them.

The throne room especially was shocked silly by their relaxed conversation. They were extremely confused by how their own outer wall guards could be so brave and calm in front of such a monster.

.....

The players went back to their guard duty after a while and silence once again reined upon the front gate. Kyren curled up again and started to rest while ignoring the many eyes looking at him.
