31 Archaic Churches Arrival

The two elf twins sat in silence while inside their cell, leaning against each other. They've already cried for a long time and now they were inwardly mourning. The man that came to observe them made them feel as though their fate was sealed. Leaving each other was worse than death in their eyes.

Sadly, the rune shackles and collars had a curse that disallowed any who wear it from killing themselves so they couldn't die together, only silently wait for their doom.

"Sister, we'll be fine right? That man might not buy us."

"That's what I also want to believe."

In truth, they both didn't believe a single one of their own words. They could feel the hooded mans appraising stares so they knew at least one of them was going to be bought.

The reason they believed that he wouldn't buy both of them was due to common sense. Eight platinums was enough to construct a high class building in most cities and towns.

Who in their right mind would spend sixteen platinum for two of the same? They were both so identical that if they closed their eyes to hide their different colored irises, no one could recognize the difference even with the highest sense attribute in the entire continent.

Another round of tears threatened to overcome them as their entire lives flashed before their eyes. They've always been together and have never been separated. The very thought scared them to absolute death.

They were born into a poor family in which they absolutely loved. Sadly good things didn't last and the government found out about them being twins and high elves despite their parents efforts to hide them.

One of their parents was an elf while the other was a high elf. These kinda marriages were outlawed because the government wanted the high elves to be of the purest of blood. Their high elf parent ran away from their perfect and promising lifestyle to be with their regular elf parent with a poorer lifestyle.

Since twins were always much more powerful than regular elves or high elves, the country had the right to "take them away for training" but they were actually abducting them. That was the last time they saw their parents.

Many years later, they were sent to an elite elven pure blood nobility academy. They remembered the times in their childhood when they would constantly prank their elven elders and fellow students. Not even now is their inner mischievous and pesky nature truly gone. The funniest thing was that they always got away with it too.

Because they were special cases, they were always outcasts wherever they went. The purer the blood of an eleven, the brighter the future they were believed to have. When the pure blooded noble children learned that they were from a poor family with impure blood, their once indifferent treatment turned full out hostile, even deadly at times.

After years of torment, they graduated from the academy and were on their way to the capital to serve the army or government. Somehow, some human slave traders found out about their rarity among elves and successfully kidnapped them. They've had it tough their entire lives but they still managed to stay with each other through it all.

The doors to the secret door opened and many powerful guards came walking in. They opened each cell and snatched each person inside ruthlessly.

"What's going on!" The twins were terrified by the sight of people being pulled by the hair or other limbs with extreme force. Any who tried to resist were struck down hard with some even losing consciousness before being dragged off.

Since the secret door was opened, they could hear the unusual bone chilling screams from the outside. The dins were far louder than they normally were. Something big was going down.

Quill walked in with hands behind his back as he delighted at the brutal sights. His eyes fell onto the twins and he made a disgusting grin.

"Congratulations you two. You've all been sold!"

"What!?! Both of us?!"

"Not quite, every slave in this entire outpost has been sold to that wonderful patron that came through not too long ago. I think he has something exciting planned if he's buying thousands of slaves..."

All those present except for Quill and the guards were flabbergasted beyond compare. Every slave here was totaled at hundreds of platinum. It was enough money to rival almost every high nobility family in the entire Empire.

Fear crept onto the souls of all the slaves within the secret room. They all saw how cold and menacing that man who assessed them earlier was and they were mortified by what he planed to do with thousands of lowly slaves. The ones who didn't fight back were now thrashing about vigorously. Everyone was getting way more rowdy as they all started resisting and screaming.

Since the shackles and collars also suppressed any power of the wearer to the F~grade, the guards had absolutely no trouble subduing the brewing riot.

While this violent chaos was happening, Quill stared at the twins with a chubby and slimy expression, "I'm gonna miss all of the 'fun' times we had together. My whip will never forget you two and your tantalizing screams.... Have a fun time with your new master."

The twins last grains of hope were completely shattered. They weren't being separated but they had a feeling that a fate worse than that awaited them.

When the group exited the canyon, it was about midnight and they were in the middle of a creature infested area (or area dungeon by game terms). Kyren managed to find some wandering adventures and asked for some directions. They kindly pointed him towards Kassio and they travelled back on Rayna's wolf form.

As they travelled, Kyren let out a faint draconic aura to avoid any unfortunate encounters with any creatures. He might've been far weaker than most of the monsters here, but his [Draconic Prestige] was feared by most, if not all living beings.

.....

Once they got back, they returned the black armor too Darien but kept the masks. The open beta launch was in two days so they were goin to need them.

Before they left, Darien looked at them with a grim expression, "I don't know if you've heard yet, but the church has arrived not too long after you left. They brought some large forces of Templars."

Almost two hours after the group departed for the capital, a large unit of Templars (church military goons) arrived in Kassio. Their forces were so overwhelming that most of them had to make a temporary settlement outside of the outer walls.

Kyren didn't know that the city mistook him for a demon so he had no idea why the church was here. The church sent over such vast numbers mainly in case they encountered demon hordes.

"Why are you telling me this?"

"Well..." He looked at Rayna and Kyren simultaneously with a sympathetic look, "They're looking for two people.

One is a beauty with moon white hair and golden eyes while the other is a Dragon Slayer that killed a black and purple dragon around a month ago..."

Darien had a feeling that the Dragon Slayer was Kyren because the timelines and "purple dragons" match perfectly with him.

"!!!"

"!!!"

Both Rayna and Kyren were stunned when they heard their perfect descriptions.

Rayna was beginning to think that she made a lot of trouble for her master so she turned around to apologize to him, "I'm deeply so-"

"Stop that, I don't blame you at all. We'll just go see them and clear whatever they're misunderstanding up."

"*COUGH* *COUGH* *COUGH*, THAT'S RIDICULOUS!?!?!" Darien literally choked when he heard Kyren's calm words, "Do you know nothing about the church?! If you were noticed by those monsters then your future is as good as over!

Do you think I wanted my shop to be unpopular? I refused to be a forger for them and this is where it got me! Even my family is suffering..."

<He's right. You remember those history books? If the church wants you, then you either kneel to them or suffer a cruel fate. Darien got off light because he's a genius forger. Usually they kill whoever denies them without mercy, even going as far as to slaughter loved ones and family.>

'... Guess I'll need to be careful.'

Maya looked at them with great concern as she too knew of the churches behavior first hand, "What do we do? We can't run or hide so the only option is to confront them and hope for the best."

"We'll figure it out so don't worry guys," He looked at Maya as though the previous matter was of no consequence to him, "I actually need you to do somethings as my assistant while I visit the church and run some errands....."
