Chapter 7

Makino giggled at his answer. "It's fine. I can navigate for us. Do you have a map and a compass with you?"

"As a matter of fact, I do." Hakai nodded and took out the map of the east blue and the compass from the inventory, giving it to her.

Grabbing the map and the compass, Makino went up to the wheel of the ship and started turning it. "Where do you want to go first, captain?" she asked, smiling.

Hakai looked at the map, looking at the various islands near them.

'Hmm, Luffy probably went here and will eventually go here to get Zoro.'

"Let's go to the Organ Islands. There's a pirate crew there I want to defeat," he said, pointing at the island.

Hakai was of course talking about the Buggy Pirates. He was considering taking Nami for his crew because of her navigational skills, but considering that Nami only got there when Luffy and Zoro arrived, he most likely wouldn't meet her unless he waited for her to arrive which he wasn't planning to do anytime soon.

"Aye aye, captain." She took hold of the wheel and looked at the compass, turning the ship towards the direction of the Organ Islands. "It shouldn't take us long to get there, especially if the wind is going with us. I'd say we'll arrive in a couple of days."

"A few days, huh. Well, in the meantime..." Hakai picked her up from behind making her yelp as he carried her princess style, making his way into the captain's quarters with her in his arms. "We can have some fun."

She giggled as he kissed her on the lips and plopped her onto the bed.

The next day, Hakai and Makino were on the ship deck.

Hakai was exercising to do his daily quest, and Makino was also exercising with him since Hakai said that the sea was dangerous and she would need to learn to defend herself.

Finishing his exercise, he recieved his rewards and a new notification popped up, signifying the creation of a new quest.

[New quest made:] Reach the Grand Line

[New quest made:] Make your crew known and defeat your first pirate crew

[New quest made:] Defeat a Marine ship, but leave one alive

[New quest made:] Receive a bounty

[New quest made:] Add another person to your crew

Hakai was a bit surprised, seeing the amount of new quests he got.

'Well, these shouldn't be that hard,' he thought to himself as he closed the quest tab.

Makino finished her training soon after, falling down on the ship floor, panting and covered in sweat. "J-jeez. I'm supposed to do this everyday?"

Hakai chuckled as he got up and got her some water. "It'll get easier as your body gets used to it. You'll need to be stronger since we'll eventually fight enemies sooner or later."

Makino nodded, drinking the water and splashing some ocean water on her face to cool off. The exercises were hard, but she was determined to do them so she doesn't become dead weight and slow Hakai down.

Standing up on the ship, Hakai opened the quest inventory and took out the free weapon that he had gotten from the Pirate Starter Kit.

Since this was a basic weapon and was very weak, he didn't spend much time customizing it, only making a basic katana since he was eventually going to replace the sword in the future.

When he held the sword in his hand, the experience of expert swordsmen flew through his brain. It was like he had been swinging a sword all his life, but in reality, it was thanks to his skill, [Supernatural Weapon Proficiency].

He was pretty sure that he was better with the sword than most swordsmen in One Piece currently, but skills wasn't the only thing that determines the outcome of a battle since one can master the way of the sword, but if they were weak, then they wouldn't do much damage to a tougher opponent.

Hakai started swinging the sword, sending out waves of compressed air that threatened to cut anyone that came near it.

'Hmm, it seems 10 meters is my max with this sword. If I push it any further, it'll break.'

Makino clapped as she watched from the side, drawing Hakai's attention.

"Err, Makino, have you decided what your fighting style is going to be?" he asked her as he continued swinging the katana around, being careful as to not hit her or damage the ship.

"I think I'll use my fists since I'd probably cut myself with a sword," she answered.

"Interesting. Well, why don't we have a friendly spar right now?"

"Sure, but go easy on me," she said as she got in a fighting stance, but since she had never fought before, her fighting stance was less than perfect, having multiple holes in her defenses.

"Bend your knees and make sure your breathing is steady. Also, bring your arms up a bit more. There, perfect."

Hakai obviously didn't have any experience in martial arts, or what was a good stance, but he could still use his swordsman knowledge to help Makino fix her stance.

"Good, good. Keep that up."

Holding his katana firmly, he swung it at Makino's neck, making her flinch and close her eyes as she tried blocking the blade with her arms.

Hakai stopped just short of contacting her and put his sword down. "Don't flinch when an attack is coming at you. Assess the situation and rely on your instincts. When fighting against a swordsman, you have to dodge their attacks or somehow stop their attack. If I was a real enemy, you'd have lost your right hand."

"Sorry..." she said wryly as she composed herself and took slow, and deep breaths.

"You're good. Now try attacking me."
