41 Chapter 40

"Devil fruit?" Crocodile asked as he used observation haki, but even that was dampened by Hakai's sword ability.

Crocodile could feel the faint presence of Hakai with observation haki, but it was only the general direction, so he was forced to use attacks that covered a wide area, and constantly keep up a guard since Hakai could attack at any moment.

All around him, Crocodile was surrounded by the void. His eyes were useless, and he couldn't even see his hands. It was better to just close his eyes and just rely on haki, but that was easier said than done.

Robin was with the girls, watching from the side. They couldn't see anything, but since they were outside of the sword's ability, they weren't affected, and their senses weren't dampened in any way.

'He's this strong? And he even managed to land a big attack on Crocodile...' Robin wondered if she could defeat Hakai in a fight, but no matter how much she tried to imagine the fight in her mind, she lost every time.

Hakai disappeared from where he was standing, appearing behind Crocodile and attacking him from behind, leaving another big cut on Crocodile's back.

"Show yourself!" Crocodile yelled out in frustration. "Sables!"

Sables was one of Crocodile's strongest attacks. He would make a massive tornado of sand, sending it on a rampage. Once the sandstorm grows big enough, not even he could stop, or control it. If that wasn't strong enough, Crocodile used a scary variation that sucked the moisture out of anyone that is touched by the sandstorm and is strong enough to crack steel from the wind alone.

Hakai saw the massive tornado forming in Crocodile's hand, sending it out behind him.

"We can't have that here. Sorry to disappoint you." Hakai swung his sword at the tornado, creating a wave of air that struck the tornado, canceling it out and making it disappear.

"How?!" Crocodile felt the connection to the sandstorm disappear, making him yell out in frustration.

Hakai was finished playing with his prey and stabbed his sword through Crocodile's heart. He wanted to test out the ability that he enchanted on his sword and from how Crocodile was acting, it worked pretty well.

Deactivating the sword ability, Robin and the girls could finally see what happened. Robin was shocked to see Hakai's sword going straight through Crocodile's heart

Hakai placed his sword inside his dimensional storage along with Crocodile's body. Since his dimensional storage was timeless, his corpse wouldn't rot.

"What did you do with the body? How did it just disappear?" Robin asked.

"I'm taking it with us. If we show proof that we dealt with Crocodile then they might show us the poneglyph. If they don't then we'll just have to barge our way in," Hakai said. "Also, don't think about betraying me. Your head will be gone before you can even see my attack if that happens."

(AN: Time to get the story going.)

From there, they traveled to the city of Alubarna, Alabasta's capital city. Although Robin had just joined the crew, the girls quickly made her feel at home, and as much as she didn't want to get attached, she did. The girls acted like the sisters that she never had.

She also got to know Hakai more, and she didn't find him bad unlike most pirates that she had met before.

At Alubarna, Hakai requested an audience with the king, showing him the corpse of the now-dead Crocodile. Hakai asked for access to the poneglyph underneath the Tomb of the Kings, and while Cobra denied him instantly, through some convincing, and with Hakai using his conqueror's haki, Cobra let them see and copy the poneglyph.

Robin was ecstatic, seeing the poneglyph. She quickly deciphered what it said, writing it down. Since Hakai couldn't read the poneglyphs, he asked her what it said. Robin didn't mind telling him, and without his help, she wouldn't be able to even see the poneglyph so she didn't mind.

After reading and copying the poneglyph, they returned to their ship and continued their journey through the Grand Line with Robin as the new member of the crew.

(AN: Sorry for the short chapter guys. I wasn't feeling it today, but the big timeskip is happening soon!)
