With Nojiko on the crew, they set off for the Polestar Islands, which is where Loguetown, the city where Gol D. Roger was born and executed, was located.
This would be their final stop before they set off for the first part of the Grand Line, Paradise.
Paradise, the first part of the Grand Line is called Paradise because compared to the second part of the Grand Line, the New World, it was considered Paradise. Don't let its name get to you though, while it might be called Paradise, you can't take it easy.
During their journey, Hakai tested our Nojiko's skills, seeing what she was good and bad at. He found out that she was really good at aiming, specifically bows.
Hakai tested out her skills by making physical constructs of weapons with his darkness and making her try them out.
Now that he knew her skills and what her best weapon would be, he put Nojiko on a training regimen to boost her physical abilities as he started making her bow.
The bow that he was planning to make was a longbow. Longbows, longer than normal bows usually require great strength to use, but Hakai was planning to enchant the bow so it would be easier to wield.
And so, the day went by. Hakai worked on Nojiko's weapon, working away at the forge as the sounds of his hammer banging on metal spread around the ship. Kaya studied the numerous medical books that she brought with him. Makino was in the kitchen, preparing food for the crew. Nojiko was done with her training and was now reading a book.

"Captain Smoker!"
Smoker puffed out a big cloud of smoke as he turned to the soldier, raising an eyebrow. "What?"
"Dragon King, Hakai has been spotted at the Conomi Islands and is predicted to come here soon to go to the Grand Line."
Smoker was irritated as the soldier called Hakai a king. "Don't call him a king. As far as I know, worthless pirates aren't kings. What was he doing there anyway?"
"He defeated and completely wiped out the Arlong Pirates which had set up base on the island."
"I'll catch him. What's his ETA here?"
(AN: ETA = Estimated Time of Arrival.)
"We don't know when he left the island but a couple days at most."
"Hmm... What was his bounty again?"
"100 million, sir."

After a day, Hakai finished making the bow. The bow's main body, which was metal that he enchanted to easily bend was a sleek, shiny black with the middle of the bow, which is where Nojiko would hold was blue.
That wasn't all. The bow looked like an uncomplete bow, but that was only because it was missing the drawstring and hadn't been finished being enchanted.
Hakai enchanted the bow, making it glow blue. He followed up with a few more minor enchants like how he usually did with his other weapons that he made.
"Done."
"But there's no string?" Nojiko asked. "Is it invisible or something?"
Hakai chuckled. "It doesn't have a string for now. Here, hold it how you usually would and do the motions of drawing the string even if there isn't one."
Nodding, Nojiko picked up the bow, holding it with her left hand. She kept her left hand straight as she did the motions of drawing a string. Like magic, a thin piece of water appeared, acting as the bow's string as Nojiko pulled it back, bending the bow.
Along with the string made out of water, a long arrow appeared also made out of water, but this one was different. It was solid, but not like ice, it was just solid water.
"Try firing it."
Nojiko aimed at a large rock in the middle of the ocean and fired at it. The arrow flew towards the rock, breaking off a large piece of it.
"Nice, that's not all. You can also manipulate water how you feel like it. Although the amount that you can manipulate depends on your skills so make sure you train hard."

The way that the bow makes the string and the arrow is by taking the moisture into the air and using it to make them meaning that Nojiko would technically have infinite arrows.
Hakai also considered the possibility of Water Manipulation being OP, but it really wouldn't be that OP. First off, devil fruit users have to have water up to their knees for water to affect them and in the grand line, powerful devil fruit users wouldn't even let the water touch them in the first place. So unless Nojiko trained and practiced her water manipulation abilities, she could really only trap weak and fodder devil fruit users. That's not to say that the ability is bad. It is still incredibly good.
Nojiko was ecstatic as she used her new bow over and over again, firing at everything she could see. With the bow using the moisture in the air, she could fire as much as she wanted.
Nojiko wasn't the only one happy that day though. Hakai was Nojiko's type, and as thanks, and as a sign that she was now his woman, she let him take her first time.
