10 Chapter 10

Comparing the 2 energies, they were both surprisingly similar with minor differences in both. For one, draconic energy didn't need training to be used instantly, but it could be trained to be stronger, but Haki on the other hand needed training to be used properly.

Using his new skill to manipulate haki and attempt to coat his hand in Armament Haki, nothing happened. There was a little bit of haki around his hand, but it was only a very thin layer and definitely not enough to be used to damage a logia, or block attacks. His experiment wasn't useless though as he seemed to get a new notification of a quest being made.

[New quest:] Learn Armament Haki

[New quest:] Learn Observation Haki

Hakai made a mental note to start training haki, but for now, he wanted to check out what this draconic energy was, and also the other skill that came with it, [Draconic Darkness Manipulation].

It was similar to haki in the way that he could use it to enhance his body and like Armament Haki, he could even coat his body with Draconic Energy greatly increasing his defenses and attack power. The draconic energy also took the color of his most compatible element, which was apparently darkness.

That wasn't all that he could do with draconic energy though. By spreading his draconic energy in an area around him, it acted similar to Observation Haki and allowed him to sense anything that was inside the draconic energy's area.

As he was experimenting with the draconic energy on all the things he could do with it, he recieved a new notification that he hadn't received before.

[Draconic Energy Manipulation has leveled up!]

Instantly, Hakai felt that his draconic energy had gotten stronger, and he could manipulate way more than he could before.

Hakai made another mental note to see if he could do anything new with the draconic energy or if it just got stronger. Moving on to the next thing he gained during the fight, Hakai opened his eyes as a pitch black smoke in the shape of a ball appeared in his hand.

It looked similar to Blackbeard's Yami Yami no Mi, but also different. First off, it looked similar to fire, but that was it. It didn't emit any heat or anything, but upon coming contact with something, the darkness would start corroding the object and was seemingly sucking away at its energy.

Hakai also had complete control of the draconic darkness, allowing him to make a corrosive armor similar to Armament Haki that corroded anyone that came in contact with it. Another special property of the darkness was that Hakai could choose who or what would get affected by the corrosive effect meaning his sword wouldn't just be destroyed when he coated it with darkness.

"Seems you learned something new," Makino said, breaking his concentration. "Is that one of your dragon powers?"

Hakai looked up at her and nodded. "Yup, and someday you'll have this too."

'Actually, I wonder if I can turn her into a dragon right now.'

Opening the shop, Hakai searched for a skill that could turn someone he wanted into a dragon.

[Dragonification (Skill):] 5,000 Aether Coins

'Tsk, still too expensive for now, but I should be able to get that in a reasonable time.'

Makino smiled. "I can't wait then."

The day passed normally after that. Hakai continued training his Haki so he could use it and Makino was also doing her best, training her physical body and practicing what Hakai told her.

After they were finished training, the 2 went to sleep.

"Hakai! Wake up!" Makino yelled at him, shaking his body and trying to wake him up.

"Huh?" Hakai stretched his legs as he sat up on the bed. "What happened? Are we being attacked?"

Makino shook her head. "No, you doofus. We're here at the Organ Islands near Orange Town. Also, we might be attacked soon. We're surrounded by some pirates."

Hakai quickly got up hearing her and put on his clothes. "Are you ok?"

"Yeah, in fact I actually got one of the pirates trying to board the ship," she said, smiling, proud of the fact that she had actually done something instead of slowing Hakai down.

Hakai smiled. "You did? That's great! Keep it up. I'll deal with any enemies that are too hard for you so just call for me."

Leaving the captain's quarters, Hakai grabbed his katana and attached it to the left side of his waist as he drew his katana with his right hand.

"Call for captain Buggy," one of the grunts said to his friend.

"Hand over any loot and treasure you have!" one of the grunts yelled at Hakai. "And the woman too!"

"No thanks..." Hakai swung his sword at the grunt, coating it with draconic energy and darkness as he sent out a compressed wave of air, cutting the grunt in half.

Leaving no time for the pirates to react to their comrade dying, Hakai jumped down from the ship and got to work on the pirates.

Makino also followed behind him, eager to join the fight, but unlike Hakai, she was a bit more careful in picking her enemies.

"D-demon!" a grunt exclaimed as he tried running away.

"You're still in my range." Hakai swung his sword. The grunt might've been physically out of his range, but any good swordsman that was in the grand line could do this much and send out a wave of compressed air.

'Tsk, now I understand how useful Conquerors Haki is. It would be so convenient knocking out all these fodder enemies with just a blink of an eye. I sure hope I have it. After all, a dragon is a perfect fit to be a Conquerer.'
