10 Life and Death struggle

Early in the morning, all the members of the group are readily carrying a backpack with essential supplies and weapon to go and start hunting, Ye Jian does not have any experience in any weapon, he selected a spear with leaf-like blade and wooden pole which is a normal standard spear.

Ye Jian chose a spear as a weapon because he can attack a target without getting near it, if there is some distance between the magical beast and him, he will have the chance to doze. The members of the group saw Ye Jian's weapon and sighed in their hearts and some even ridiculed him.

He is the member with the lowest cultivation level and they only allowed him to join the group because of Du Chen. All the members in the group are at least, at the second level of the vein opening realm and are carrying weapon refined by weapon craftsmen. The weapons did by a weapon craftsman are refined from many high-quality materials and they can easily penetrate the thick skin or armor of the magical beast. One has to be at least on the sixth level of origin realm to efficiently use a refined weapon, but Ye Jian was only at first level of origin realm.

The spear in the Ye Jian can hardly able to kill a first level magical beast. Ye Jian doesn't have any other choice but to use this weapon, he is very nervous and excited as he is going to hunt for the first time. He said to himself that he should stick always to the group and should fight only when necessary.

The group which consisted of 20 members came to the entrance of the southern wilderness, Du Chen who is the leader of this group divided the group into 4 teams and sent them in different directions. They set signals to inform other groups if anything happened to them so that other groups can go and lend their support.

Du Chen placed Ye Jian in some other group than his own so as avoid suspicions on him, if Ye Jian died. He sent secret signals to the captain of the Ye Jian group telling him to meet at a predetermined place deep in the forest, where he wants to play and torture Ye Jian to his heart's content. The teams moved in the pointed direction and began to hunt for magical beasts.

After three hours Ye Jian is very tired and his team killed three level 1 magical beasts. His contribution is nothing in the three kills because his teammates are in vein opening realm and they easily killed the level 1 beasts with one strike. His urinary bladder is full and he wants to relieve it. The captain of his team stopped in a spot after moving for some time which is the predetermined point set by Du Chen and waited for his arrival.

The place is the shady side at the bottom of a cliff and it is the best place to stay as they only have to focus on their front, for any attacks by magical beasts, with their back facing the cliff. Ye Jian said to the captain he wants to relieve his bladder and went forwards to some distance and began to empty his bladder.

When Ye Jian is returning to the place, from a distance through the gaps of leaves he can see that Du Chen team is also there chatting with his team and he can see Du Chen is eagerly waiting for something. Ye Jian suddenly felt an uneasy feeling, he hesitated to go forward but after some thought, he still moved towards that group.

After walking three steps his movement halted and his face turned pale with fear. From the gaps of the leaves, he saw a group of pitch black color monsters which are standing on its hind legs like a human, its arms are slim and have three sharp claws and its face is oval in shape with no ears or nose. That creatures have amber color eyes, its mouth is very wide with a red tongue slightly hanging out and sharp razor-like teeth filled its mouth.

Their appearance is not like normal monsters, they are looking like a completely different race. Ye Jian back is filled with cold sweat and he is feeling absolutely terrified in his heart. That group of creatures are approaching from the side to the place where Du Chen group are standing, Ye Jian wants to shout and inform them to run away, but the sound did not come out of his throat due to fear.

"Boss, there is someone approaching us, there rustling sound due to movements nearby" one of the members informed Du Chen. "fuck, who is coming here right now. if we know them, we will try to convince them, or if it is just a small group we will silence them here," said Du Chen, by gnashing his teeth. All the members focused their look towards the direction of the sound and noticed the black creatures and they felt frightened just by looking at them. The creature also noticed the group and licked their lips as if they saw a delicious item to eat.

Ye Jian saw that group of creatures noticed Du Chen's group, the creatures rush towards Du Chen group and them. not even in five breaths, all the members in the group are killed. The creatures feasted on the bodies making bone-crunching sounds, the scene made Ye Jian terrified to his soul and his back is filled with cold sweat. He knows that if he is discovered by that creatures there is no escaping from them and he will definitely die a violent death.

Ye Jian urged his brain to think for an escape route and he noticed a muddy swamp near him, he remembered reading in his science book that by spreading mud on his body he can escape the smell and thermal detection of animals. He slid into the swamp without making any sound and did not make any movements. He watched them feasting on the bodies of Du Chen and others like a stone.

After the feast, the creatures walked in his direction, Ye Jian heartbeat rose rapidly but he quickly held his breath and controlled his heartbeat. They slowly passed by him and left the place. Ye Jian did not show any movements and is completely still and after a long time, he released a deep breath and by spreading a thick layer of mud covering all the parts of his body without leaving any spots, he got out of the swamp.

He leaned against a tree to relax, but he did not even rest for ten breaths, he heard an angry roar of a tiger coming from the deep parts inside the Southern wilderness. "my strength is not enough to roam in this place, I am bit hot-headed and due to my rash decision I am facing a critical situation, I should quickly move out of this forest and inform others about what I had seen today." Ye Jian is certain that something is going happen in the Southern wilderness and hurriedly moved in the direction he came from to move out of the forest.

He ran for some time and his body suddenly came to a halt as he stared at the level two monster beast silver hoofed rhino staring at him. "Fuck, why my luck is this bad today, if have just traveled for some distance I would be out of this forest," thought Ye Jian, in his heart. The main disadvantage of this rhino is its movement speed but its one strike is enough to end Ye Jian's life.

Ye Jian turned around without giving time for the rhino to react and kept running in the opposite direction at full speed, he can feel the earth under him is trembling as the silver hoofed rhino is chasing him. He is getting deeper into the forest as he ran. After running for a long time he is still not able to get rid of rhino. The sky is being covered by black clouds, thunder and lightning started as rain fell.

Ye Jian is at end of his energy and is completely drenched in rain. He is completely drained of power and his speed reduced, when a silver hoofed rhino is about to attack him with its hoof, he twisted his leg and jumped side words, still, his arms are just scratched by its body which made it fractured and blood began to drip from his hands. He withstood the pain and again started running but it is almost like limping.

He saw a flat place which is surrounded by five ancient looking pillars and ran to the middle of it with blood dripping on the floor as he staggered and fell to the floor. He did not have any strength to even lift his hand, he can sense the Silver hoofed rhino coming towards him, he felt despaired and accepted the fact that he is going to die here.

Suddenly a lightning fell near his place with a loud sound, frightened by the sound silver hoofed rhino ran away from the place. Ye Jian felt relieved by the sudden change and closed his eyes to recuperate. After some time, another lightning fell straight over his head but it was mysteriously divided into five and transferred to the five tall pillars above his head.

Some ancient teleportation formation which existed there got activated and with a bright light glowing beneath him, he got transported to a dark place, where he is not able to see anything even his hands. Ye Jian is dumbstruck by this sudden change and after transporting to the dark place he heightened his senses and turned his head all around to sense if there is any danger here. After finding no movement in this place, he relaxed and slowly lost his consciousness.
