18 Choosing Cultivation Method

A bell-like sound reverberated all over the training field and three glittering doors emitting golden light appeared in front of Shen Xue and Xia Tian.

The words 'cultivation methods', 'martial techniques', and 'crafted weapons' are written on the three doors respectively.

" you can enter each portal one time and can spend up to thirty minutes in each portal. There are tools inside to check your talent and innate condition based on which, you are shown suitable cultivation methods. Depending on your perception level you are given some martial techniques to choose from. There is no test for weapons and the weapons displayed is based on your chosen cultivation method and martial technique. First one of you, enter the cultivation methods portal."

Shen Xue looked at Xia Tian and waved her hand, directing him to enter first.

Xia Tian laughed and said, "I don't have much experience in choosing cultivation methods and may take a long time to choose, you are already in the Nascent soul realm and you may choose your cultivation method quickly. So, it is appropriate for you to enter first."

Shen Xue nodded her head and entered the 'cultivation methods' portal. Xia Tian waited patiently glancing around the platform.

He wanted to know more about this place and decided to call for the spirit, "spirit of the training field, are you there? I have some doubts can you clarify it for me."

He called for the spirit as if calling for a ghost looking all around.

"what doubts you have?" the neutral voice of the spirit sounded out.

"Do you have any name? who is the owner of this place?"

"I was named Chi Mu, by the creator of this artifact. The artifact is passed down among his descendants and the previous owner is the city lord of Training Crystal city and currently, there is no owner for this artifact."

"what happened to your previous owner?" asked Xia Tian curiously.

"I can only sense what is happening inside this place, I don't have any idea about outside. As for the previous owner, his connection abruptly cut off, he might have died or voluntarily gave up on this artifact."

"How old are you? When is the last time you had the owner?"

"I am created two million years ago, I had lost the connection with the last owner one million years ago," said Chi Mu in a neutral tone.

Xia Tian eyes became wide as eggs in shock, the civilization on the earth started only ten thousand years ago but here there are cities even two million years ago. Xia Tian composed himself and asked flatteringly, " can I become the new owner of you… I mean this artifact, I will definitely keep this place well."

"There are nine realms present at that time, they are, Origin realm, Vein opening realm, Nascent soul realm, Spirit realm, Heaven realm, Fulfillment realm, Fragmentation realm, Saint realm, and Void realm."

Xia Tian only knows up to Fulfillment realm from the records of the library in the Ye family. He doesn't know whether there are cultivators who exceeded that realm in the Dragnor continent. So, he asked, " how much blood essence a fulfillment level expert need to form a contract with you."

"A fulfillment realm cultivator needs fifty drops of his blood essence to form a contract with me," said Chi Mu, in a neutral tone.

"how much blood essence can be refined by a cultivator in a year?" asked Xia Tian expectantly.

"any human cultivator of any level, after Nascent soul realm can congeal and refine five drops of blood essence per year."

Xia Tian took a deep breath of cold air and lost interest in acquiring this Training field as he is only at the origin realm now, he diverted the topic and asked, " how this place get its energy and how much slower the time can be made here?"

"this place gets its energy from the world spiritual energy, the time rate is fixed when the artifact is created and the owner can only change the type of training."

"what types of training are available here?" asked Xia Tian with stars blinking in his eyes.

"I can not say that information to you, only the owner can know that information."

"okay okay… what about life and death training? You will just see and don't do anything as we are killed by magical beasts"

"In life and death training, I will just teleport you to a separate space according to your strength, you have to fight with real magical beasts until you die or they die, I am not allowed to interfere in between."

By this conversation, Xia Tian got a basic idea about the spirit of the training field, it is just like an artificial intelligence on earth which will follow certain rules to work and does not have any free will.

With the opening of a door sound, Shen Xue came out of the 'cultivation methods' room.

"did you find any cultivation method useful to you?" asked Xia Tian as he smiled at Shen Xue.

Shen Xue shook her head dispiritedly and replied, "all the cultivation methods here are very good but my present cultivation method is also as good as those cultivation methods. if you want to try you can go on, I will see if there are any better martial techniques that are useful to me."

Shen Xue entered the other door which has 'martial techniques' written on it.

Xia Tian overjoyed as there will be a good cultivation method waiting for him. Immediately after Shen Xue entered the other door, he went into 'cultivation method' portal.

The gray color indicates a trash spiritual root, and people with that spiritual root take a long time to refine profound qi from the surrounding spiritual energy. Next levels are red, blue and purple respectively. People with purple color spiritual roots are considered to have extraordinary talent and they are very fast at converting the profound energy into Qi. Song Tingyu has purple color spiritual root and along with her cultivation speed, she is considered a genius among the talents.

"drop your blood into the bowl placed there to check your body compatibility" Chi Mu sounded in Xia Tian brain after some time.

Xia Tian perplexed after hearing Chi Mu, he hurriedly asked, "Chi Mu, what is the meaning of two colors for my spiritual root?"

"I don't know, gray color represents slow refining spiritual root and gold color represents divine spiritual which is a very fast refining spiritual root"

All the questions Xia Tian want to ask struck at his throat, as he listened to the reply of Chi Mu. Even the two-million-year-old Chi Mu don't know about this, then who he should ask.

He reluctantly walked towards the bowl and by using his knife he made a short slit on his finger and one drop of blood fell into the bowl.

Immediately after, the two stone tables vanished and five jades appeared before him.

The first one is Solar Nine Yang cultivation method, it is a powerful cultivation method but once cultivated you can only able to dual cultivate with Heavenly Nine Yin profound body. Another female cultivator can only die after dual cultivation due to its extreme yang energy. So, Xia Tian rejected it immediately.

The second one is invincible thunder body cultivation method, it is a highly powerful and rare cultivation method but one has to refine their body with heavenly thunder to cultivate this method which is an extremely painful process. So, Xia Tian rejected this one also.

The third one is the indestructible stone emperor cultivation method, this cultivation method makes one body able to withstand any amount of force at its highest level, but the drawback the body becomes hard as stone. Xia Tian cannot imagine embracing a soft woman's body with this hard stone-like body. So, he rejected this without a second thought.

The last two are savage berserker cultivation method and dauntless war god cultivation method.

In savage berserker cultivation method when he wants to fight he will enter mad and crazy mood where his body will be highly strengthened and his speed and fighting methods improve many folds.

In Dauntless war god cultivation methods he can use any weapon to its optimum level by just practicing for a short time and his body flexibility will be greatly increased and he can fight simultaneously with many people using different weapons.

Xia Tian fell in dilemma in selecting one of these two cultivation methods as he felt both are good ones, but in berserker cultivation method when he enters into berserker mode he won't care about being injured and charge towards the enemy with his full power. He will forego his rationality and charge ahead even if it is a conform death blow.

In dauntless war god cultivation method, he has to constantly battle in order breakthrough in cultivation method. by only experiencing many battles he will be able to successfully cultivate this technique.

At last, by comparing all the advantages and disadvantages he felt dauntless war god cultivation method is best suited for him at present situation as he has to battle with the magical beast for almost three years. If he is alive!
