1 Prologue 1- Origin
100 years ago the world changed when huge gates that looked like wormholes opened up leading to dungeons. At first they caused mass panic as no one knew what was going on however people soon figured out that certain people could go in them as well, if they don't clear the dungeons then the monsters can come to earth. After 2 weeks the gates open causing a dungeon break, where all of the monster corresponding to that specific dungeon can enter our world and wreak havoc. Normal people could not get into the gates, modern weapons wouldn't work on the gates either. then one day people with abilities who could enter the gates arose. They would go in and fight these monsters and close the gates before they break through and enter our world. Once inside they were able to find precious materials, weapons that worked better on the monsters. Some had enchantments on them giving them more properties.
A whole new market opened up pertaining to dungeons and the materials, weapons and valuable monster corpses inside them. It didn't take long for rich and powerful people and government's to put laws together to restrict the hunters making them create and join guilds also they quickly found a way categorize the hunters that have different classes and strengths ranging from E-A for normal hunters and S-SSS for the extremely powerful and OP hunter. there has only been a few S and none so far for SS or SSS yet.
After about 50 years everything settled down with the hunters making stable income, gates being cleared as soon as they appear. Strong and rich guilds broke out from the weaker ones and essentially monopolized the marked on gates. At this time society went into a rhythm where gates and hunters were normal. Hunters at this time become more famous than celebrities and the super strong B rank and up hunters become rich. Government's discovered that hunters and gates were here to stay so countries around the world opened up Hunter schools at the college level to train and keep tabs on the new up and coming powerhouses that will be protecting them. it stayed like this for the next 50 years and now to everyday citizens and hunters this is just apart of normal life.

Ryuji Kaede is and E-rank hunter but also the lowest E-rank hunter in the country. Thanks to a friend of his fathers he was able to get into the second best Hunters college in Japan ( Hunter United East) even with his poor stats and rank. this is where our story takes off following Ryuji from weakest to strongest.
