8 PAIN

A few minutes later, Shallot and Android 8 walks out of the destroyed building. Shallot then pulls out the dragon ball from his pocket.

"Hey Bulma, heads up!"

Shallot throws the dragon ball to her. He then turns to the android.

"So android, what are you going to do now?"

Android 8 looks up at the sky and smiles.

"I don't want to hurt the innocent anymore. I want to live a peaceful life, one without violence."

Shallot smirks then looks up at the sky as well.

"That sounds kinda nice actually."

"And what about you, Shallot? Where do you go from here?" Android 8 asks.

Shallot doesn't answer for a moment, thinking about his past and his goal.

"You know, I see part of myself in you, android. Trying to somehow ignore my violent nature. Honestly part of me still wants the life that you just described. But I know what I am. And I know that I can never have peace."

The saiyan then turns his back to the Android.

"I really do hope you achieve everything that you want, android. But I have a path to walk right now. A path that is far from peaceful."

Shallot starts to walk away as Android 8 looks at him with a sad look on his face.

"Pain." The android says.

Shallot stops, without turning around.

"That's what I feel from you. Besides the fighting skills and your kind heart. You carry around great pain."

Shallot doesn't respond and continues to walk, waving bye to the kind hearted android. Bulma and the others stare at Shallot with a somber look on their face, hearing the conversation between the two. Shallot keeps silent, causally flipping over Oolong's bus and getting inside. Bulma can't help but feel sad for the young man.

"You know, it's sometimes hard to remember that he's just a kid." Bulma says.

Oolong chuckles.

"Yeah. A kid that can take out a military base with his bare hands." the pig replies.

They all get on the bus and drive off to the next dragon ball.

Meanwhile, at the main Red Ribbon base, A man named Doctor Gero clutches the two star dragon ball tightly when he hears that one of the stronghold has been attacked and someone took the dragon ball. He then slams his fist down, cracking a computer screen.

"Find these intruders and get me, MY dragon balls!" He demands.

That night, As Oolong, Yamcha, and Puar sleep, Bulma looks out of the window and watches Shallot train, worried about the young man.

After Shallot does three hundred handstand pushups, he flips back to his feet and takes a breather. As he hunches over, face dripping with sweat, constantly trying to catch his breath, he notices someone behind him and smiles.

"I'm fine, Bulma." He says as he turns to her.

Bulma scoffs and folds her arms.

"I wasn't worried about you, I just couldn't sleep is all. Why would a gorgeous young woman like myself be worried about a little twerp like you?"

Shallot chuckles, then Bulma gets serious.

"You've been quiet ever since we met that Android." Bulma says, looking up at the sky.

Shallot let's out a sigh before responding.

"He's just like the old me. Back on planet Vegeta, I never wanted to hurt people either. I enjoyed fighting- but I hated going from planet to planet, hurting innocent people. I'm honestly jealous of that android, because he had the courage to do what I couldn't until it was too late."

The two stand in silence for a moment as Bulma hears what Shallot is saying.

"Ugh! You're such downer sometimes, Shallot. You know that?"

Shallot smirks.

"You're the one who came out here to pry into my personal business."

Bulma gets infuriated when Shallot says this.

"Whatever. You know, that's the last time I ever worry about a little jerk like you."

"Oh, so you admit that you were worried about me." Shallot says with a smile.

Bulma gets even more infuriated as Shallot starts to laugh. She then looks up at the sky and smiles.

"Wow, the moon looks so pretty tonight."

Shallot keeps his head down when he hears this.

"I'll uh- take your word for it." Shallot says.

"Come on inside, you smell even worse than yesterday."

"Shut up."

The two then goes inside for the night.

The next morning, Bulma stands outside holding the dragon radar high in the sky. Yamcha and Shallot are both with her.

"Found anything yet, Bulma?" Yamcha asks.

Bulma sighs.

"No. I thought I saw a dragon ball around here the other day."

"You think someone else found it?"

"Maybe. I guess Red Ribbon did prove we're not the only ones who are looking for them."

While their talking, someone is listening in from behind a rock. The mystery figure then jumps into the sky and kicks at Yamcha, but it gets blocked. The mystery fighter flips back and takes a fighting stance. As the three get a good look at him, they see a kid the same age as Shallot with a bald head and six dots on his forehead.

"Who the heck is that?" Bulma asks.

"I don't know, but he's asking for a beat down. Alright kid, what's the big idea?" Yamcha asks.

"I heard you three talking, You're after the dragon ball, Master Roshi has. Well you gotta go through me if you want to get to him."

Yamcha and Bulma looks on in confusion but Shallots eyes open wide.

"So, who's up first? I'll take both of you on my-"

Before he could finish his sentence, he feels a tap on his shoulder. He turns around and sees Shallot. Everyone is stunned by how fast Shallot is. The bald young man jumps back out of fear.

"What? How did you-" The boy asks.

"You said Roshi, right? Where is he? I need to talk to him."

The boy regains his composure.

"As if I'd tell you!"

He runs at Shallot, but the saiyan grabs him by the shirt and pulls him in close.

"I don't have time for this! Where is Roshi?!"

As he sees the anger in Shallots eyes, the bald young man starts to tremble as his face turns blue. At that moment, everyone looks to the ocean and sees an old man standing on a turtle's back.

"It's him- That's master Roshi." The young man points and says.
