13 Chapter 13: Three Wishes!

Arlic was now standing in the center of the Namekian village, with Nail and Dende staring at him only a few steps away. At their feet were seven orange orbs. Each orb, that was roughly around the size of a basketball and contained an assorted number of small, red colored stars located in their interior. The stars numbered from one to seven, the same as the number of orbs. These were the [Namekian Dragon Balls]. Stepping before them, Nail called out in the Namekian language.

"Takkaraputo popurunga pupirittoparo!"

The [Dragon Balls] let off a blinding golden light, while the sky went dark. A mighty roar then shook the ground beneath their feet. Looking up, Arlic saw a massive green scaled dragon take form from within the golden light.

It had a long tail with a large fin running along its spine. Two, well-muscled arms sat beneath large black spikes that adorned each of its shoulders. This dragon, which seemed to fill up the whole sky was Porunga, the Namekian [Eternal Dragon]. Summoned forth by the [Dragon Balls], the dragon spoke to Nail in a loud booming voice.

"I am Porunga, and I shall grant you three wishes. Now… speak your first wish!"

Turning towards Arlic, Nail waited. Nodding, Arlic spoke his first wish, so that Nail could translate.

"I wish for the ability to innately use [Magic Materialization]."

Nail quickly relayed his wish to Porunga. And what a wish it was. [Magic Materialization] was a technique that most mortals couldn't use through natural means. Species often played a factor… or so he had been told anyway. The Kai and the Namekians were prime examples of this.

Magic wielders could also use it to a small degree as well, however, Arlic had never seen or heard of any example of a Saiyan being able to use magic before. And even though he intended to learn, he wasn't about to settle for a lesser ability. Taking in all those considerations, he decided not to leave it to chance.

"Hmm…?"

Arlic's body grew warm. Alongside that warmth, he felt something change inside of him. He instinctually understood that his wish had been granted… but now wasn't the time to test it. Looking up, he saw Nail looking back, likely seeking his next wish.

"I wish for all forms of knowledge listed on this piece of cloth to be directly transferred into my mind."

Saying so, Arlic pulled a small piece of cloth out of his pants. On the cloths surface lay a list of knowledge he felt he may need in the future. The list comprised of scientific, technological, medical, and engineering knowledge. This knowledge would help him achieve his plans.

After Nail spoke, the massive dragon materialized reading glasses as the list floated out of Arlic's hand. While slightly comical, Porunga seemed to hesitate once he read the list. Seemingly deciding that he could grant Arlic's wish, he formed an "OK" gesture with one of his large, scaled hands. Upon granting the wish, Arlic fell to his knees as his eyes glowed with a white light. He screamed out as all of the knowledge he'd asked for forced its way into his brain.

Nearly a full three minutes later, his eyes gleaming with newfound intellect, Arlic rose to his feet. Despite the pain, he had anticipated the blowback of such a wish. Its why he separated this wish from his next one. He didn't know whether his brain could withstand the strain of having too much information inserted into his mind all at once. Nail who was looking at him with slight concern, asked him if he wished to continue. Nodding, Arlic spoke his third and final wish.

"I wish to have all forms of magical knowledge, both known and forgotten transferred directly into my mind."

Nail looked at him like he was crazy, most likely wondering what he needed all this knowledge for. Still, as his father had instructed, he relayed Arlic's wish accordingly. Porunga's eyes glowed red as Arlic once more fell to his knees. Throwing his head back Arlic's eyes were glowing with a flickering green light, his head occasionally swaying side to side.

As the minutes passed by with Porunga already returning and the Dragon Balls scattering in all directions, Arlic's body floated off the ground. After releasing a scream that seemed to shake the very souls of the surrounding Namekians, the flickering green light faded and Arlic gently floated toward the ground.

As his feet touched Namek's soil, he seemed to have a newfound mystical quality about him. An aura that he couldn't quite hide. Looking in the direction of Grand Elder Guru's home, he spoke not with his voice, but with his mind.

"Grand Elder Guru, I will never forget this favor. When next we meet, I will have kept my promise to you. Farewell Namekians!"

After telepathically communicating his farewell, Arlic's body turned to light particles, vanishing from where he had stood. The Namekians looked around with confused expressions. Guru, who still sat on his throne however, simply nodded. He knew that they would meet again… after his life had reached its end.

---

Atop a large cliff overlooking [Planet Namek's] green oceans, Arlic reappeared. After staring out at the sea for a few minutes, he closed his eyes. As he stood there processing the vast amount of knowledge he had acquired, he sighed, knowing that his next step would be the most dangerous yet. Now that he had all the knowledge to see the step through, he intended to start as soon as possible. Before he began, however, he'd need a few things first.

"Where to begin?"

Arlic could now make just about anything he would need with [Magic Materialization]. That said, there were some things he simply could not substitute for. The blood of an [Ancient Saiyan] and [Sensu Beans] being amongst them.

"The easiest would likely be the beans… in that case, I guess [Earth] will be my first stop."

Standing there with his arms crossed, Arlic decided to go for the [Sensu Beans] first.

"Huh?"

Pulling back his focus, Arlic noticed that the clothing he was wearing didn't really suit him anymore. While comfortable, they were not really fit for fighting. He was still a Saiyan, after all. That meant he needed something more practical for his travels.

Turning around he held his hand toward the ground. Focusing his mind, Arlic pictured an image of the [Battle Armor] that Frieza distributed amongst his men. Focusing further, he pictured what he wanted it to be made of and even decided on its color scheme.

Finally, he focused his concentration on the now complete image that existed in his mind. Then with a flash of white light, Arlic's will became reality. This was [Magic Materialization]. The ability to make one's own imagination take physical form.

"Ha-ha… I did it!"

Arlic wasn't sure if he could manifest something so detailed. It worked, though, as the armor that appeared before him was exactly what he'd intended it to be. An [Ancient Saiyan] battle garb, from when the Saiyan's still resided on [Planet Sadala]. The armor did have its differences though.

First, was the black skintight under-suit. It looked as if it were made of tiny hexagonal plates woven together. Next up, was the breast plate, it looked more like a modern [Battle Armors] breast plate. The difference was it's more metallic composition, compared to the highly flexible armor of this era that looked like a second set of skin.

Lastly, was the color scheme and emblem etched onto its belt buckle. The color scheme was red and grey, with gunmetal grey metallic parts making up the rest of the armor. The emblem was a large engraved crescent moon facing downward with a circle sitting inside of the crescent. Surrounding it were four segmented, diamond shaped lines. Arlic intended for this to be the crest for the future [House of Sadala].

"This should fit me quite nicely…"

Laying his new armor on the ground, Arlic used [Ki Transfer] to imbue his armor with added toughness. A useful tool… one he'd learned a great deal about, as unlike what Arlic had previously believed, the technique didn't permanently deplete a portion of your [Ki]. It also held a wide variety of uses, from strengthening objects, to granting barren worlds new life. The latter obviously being more difficult than the former.

'Worth exploring, anyway.'

Breaking away from his thoughts regarding the future, Arlic looked back down to his new battle-garb.

"Now to get these old clothes off..."

Donning his new armor, Arlic threw a few mock punches and kicks to test its maneuverability. He then removed his [Space Pod Controller] from his old clothes. Calling his ship, he tossed his old garb aside, turning them to dust with the wave of his hand.

With the door still open Arlic closed his eyes. He envisioned a softball-sized [Crystal Ball]. Then, just as with his new battle-garb, what he saw in his minds eye appeared in his hand, in yet another flash of white light.

Chanting in a low voice, he used his new magically powered [Crystal Ball] to search for someone specific. Someone that had something he needed before going to earth. Concentrating, the [Crystal Ball] glowed, as an image appeared from deep within its depths. Upon seeing the image, Arlic smiled.

"There you are, Turles. I'll be taking everything you own soon enough. Wait for me, won't you?"

With a laugh, that didn't sound menacing in any way given how young he was, Arlic placed two fingers to his brow. Still looking into the crystal ball, his ships door closed, as both he, and it, vanished from Namek's surface.
