Tournament!!

The next day came, and more hard labor continued. Goku and Krillin were pushed to the limit, enduring what a human being could possibly take, yet they didn't give up. They stayed strong until their next training session commenced, which involved carrying 20kg Turtle Shells on their backs as they worked hard. It took some time to adapt, but after a whole week, it became nothing to them. They ran around at the same speed as when they had no Turtle shells on. Goku and Krillin were quickly becoming stronger, which made Master Roshi happy.

He still hadn't quit trying to get a look at Lunch, but on that day, Lunch had turned into Launch, who was even worse compared to the normal smacks he got from Lunch. She chased him down with a Uzi for a whole hour until she sneezed and turned back into Lunch. Seeing the gun in her hand really spooked her, so she dropped it. Somehow, that drop pulled the trigger and hit Goku and Master Roshi right in the head. They fell down in pain, rolling around on the floor. Lunch quickly came to help, but when he tried to grope her, she became annoyed and slammed his head into the ground.

She then went back to her chores, which involved cooking and cleaning. She especially liked cooking because Goku would eat her food without complaining. Being a guy who was used to eating almost anything, he couldn't complain, of course.

They continued to do their work until they finished each job. Being a master, he then said they should know how to dodge anything fast. So he tied them to a tree and messed with a wasp hive. Goku and Krillin were left to deal with the angry wasps. Now Goku knows where he found his fear of needles. They were then put into a shark-infested lake and told to swim away from the sharks while they chased after them.

This went on for 5 days until they were now pros at this. Master Roshi then gave them an end goal: to be able to push a large boulder that was 20 feet tall and around 50 meters wide. This should have been impossible, but Goku and Krillin ended up doing it pretty easily after more training. He then gave them heavier shells to carry; they were 50 kgs and very hard to carry. Krillin wanted to quit, but after a couple of words of encouragement from Goku, his spirit came back, and they continued to do their daily chores. This time it took even longer to adapt, but the fact that it eventually happened made them extremely happy. Master Roshi then gave them an even bigger and taller boulder to push. After a week of doing chores, they were now able to push the boulder fairly easily. Goku had already realized that he was stronger than the original Goku during this arc, but he knew that it wouldn't make things boring for him, especially during the tournament.

"Alright, boys. Now that your training is over, it's time to test if you've become stronger. I want you two to do some basic things like a 200m sprint and a vertical leap. Take off those Turtle shells first and do so," he said.

Both of them took the shells off and instantly felt lighter than normal. Krillin tried to run, but he sprinted to a nearby tree and crashed.

"Your bodies have become light, so be careful until you adapt. Now do the things I've asked."

Krillin came back holding his face in pain. He saw Goku snickering, which made him angry.

They then leaped up; both Krillin rose higher into the air. A bird flew past them, showing how high they were. But then, remembering that they had to land, they quickly focused and landed swiftly.

"That's a lot of progress compared to the first time you did so. Now run."

Goku and Krillin began to sprint; they found themselves at the corner the very next second and turned. Before they knew it, they had run the 200m in 5 seconds on the dot.

"Your training is now over. It's time for you all to go and try out for the Tenkaichi Budokai tournament. Now go get some rest; we'll be leaving tomorrow."

"Wow, I'm really impressed with our progress," Goku thought. Krillin came over and spread his with his fist cupped.

"I want to face you in the final. So make sure you win every match."

Goku met his fist with his own. "I wish you do the same, Krillin."

Both of them smiled happily and ran back to the Kame House. They saw Master Roshi on the ground with many bumps on his head. Launch was cooking food, which was an odd sight, but during the month here, he even tamed Launch with his cuteness and fierceness.

"Dinner is ready; come eat," she said with an annoyed tone. Goku even told her about her other self, Lunch, and vice versa. They were shocked but easily believed him since it made a lot of sense.

"Wow, Goku. I'll have to hand it to you. Befriending Launch, that's something I didn't dream would ever happen," Krillin said as he sat down in front of the table.

"I'm just built different, Krillin. Now let's eat; we gotta wake up early and work out before we leave," Goku said. Krillin nodded, and they began to dig in.

The next morning, Goku and Krillin woke up and did a short exercise. When they were done, they took a bath. They then went out, and Launch helped them dress in their gray suits and hats.

"All right, boys, it's time to go. I hope you're ready to fight all those strong opponents," Master Roshi said as he brushed his beard.

They then left the house and took a car down to the airport, which Goku and Krillin had helped to build over the month. They got into a plane that would take them straight to the tournament.

What Goku did/didn't know is that he would meet his old friends from his first trip to finding the Dragon Balls.

Bulma and the gang were in a car headed towards the tournament. Yamcha was participating in it, so they came to cheer him on. Bulma had kept her promise to Goku to stay loyal to him. She even stopped looking at any other man except for her father. Her loyalty meter was at 100, and she didn't want it to ever drop. Yamcha obviously had a crush on her, yet she didn't care to look at him for even a second. In her opinion, she had brought him to this tournament to show him that he was stronger and a perfect man. Yet she had seen the wonderful wonders of Goku, so she did care about him.

They parked their car inside, and they all stepped out of the car.

"You watch, guys. I'll win that 500,000 zenny and take all of you on a wonderful trip around the world," Yamcha said.

"You better hope Goku doesn't enter this tournament, or else your win is as good as dead," Bulma said as she walked forward, leaving Yamcha sulking.

'She's right. Goku always seems to get stronger,' he thought.
