That was unexpected

After yet another black out, Lucille opened her eyes slowly, almost expecting to see another vast expanse of white but what greeted her was far better.

She was in a forest of what resembled a mix pine and fir trees, there were mountains further back, the peaks of those mountains covered in a blanket of snow.

Pine needles littered the ground and she could see a stream not far from where she had spawned. She hadn't noticed it at first, but her vision was much more focused and she could see further than she ever could when she was still in the "real" world.

As she began to notice the difference, she realised her body felt somewhat different.

She suddenly looked down only to see a pair of black reptilian talons covered in shiny scales that got smaller and smaller ending in long 20cm claws. Her eyes widened, if they could but she felt like they had widened, she let out what would be a piercing shriek if she were human but it came out as a roar that shook the nearby trees.

"ability obtained: Dragon's roar "

A small panel appeared in front of her eyes, shocked at it's sudden appearance, Lucille stepped backwards only to trip on her tail that was lying right behind her hind legs.

Falling backwards with a yelp, she clawed at the air before falling into a pile of snow that was conveniently on the ground where she fell.

Lucille lay there dazed for a couple of minutes thinking over the possibilities of what had just happened. After thinking of a few possible conclusions, she went with the conclusion that the voice that talked to her in the white space had sent her somewhere in Taflheim and had decided to make her a dragon?!

Apart from her sore back, she was thrilled, instead of being confused and disappointed at not being a bipedal creature, she was overjoyed at the fact that she was to be a freaking dragon. Her inner self was jumping up and down as she inspected her new body.

She was a relatively small dragon, probably a juvenile, about 2 meters long and standing roughly at 1 meter tall. Her legs were lean but muscles could be seen rippling beneath her obsidian black scales. A set of sharp spines adorned her spine, their sizes varying. From her scaly temples emerged two jet black horns with a reddish tint that resembled a kudu's horns but a tad thicker. She couldn't see all the details of her body so she decided that she would try to look for a reflective surface later, then she suddenly realised something and twisted her neck backwards expectantly, sure enough, close to her shoulder blade's were two sets of small wings, barely half a meter large but still there.

Excitement overcame her when she saw her small wings, she had been given the gift of flight! Something most humans dreamed of! Except those with vertigo.

After admiring her body for a while she remembered hearing a voice after her shriek/roar then she proceeded to remember the fact that she was in a game like world. Based on this fact, she assumed that this world would work like a game to some extent. So she hesitantly sent a mental command, "uuh stats open?".

A moment passed then a transparent panel with black writing opened:

Lv10 (no name) Darkfire dragon (juvenile)

mana: 200/200

abilities:

Lucille was pleasantly surprised by her stats, but her eyes were drawn to the word evolution. Now this was something she wanted very badly, it would probably make her stronger and get her closer to soaring through the skies!

For now her goal was to evolve!
