1 What am I?

In an alternate world directly parallel to the one society has come to know exist its opposite. Here magic exists and the magical creatures call home. Humans do not exist, but rather creatures that look human, but really are in a larval state waiting for the metamorphosis into adulthood.

In this world Pangea still exists and on this super continent exists kingdoms of the seven elements. Gaia of earth, Infernus of fire, Ventus for wind, Aquas for water, Lux for light, Tenebris for dark, and Neutrum for those without. these kingdoms are in a constant struggle for supremecy, but it is that very struggle that maintains the balance of the world.

In the kingdom of Neutrum, the poorest of the countries, lies a village that has no concept of money. Inside this village is a male larvae otherwise known as a boy. He was celebrating his eighteenth cycle around the sun all alone.

Brown eyes and messy brown hair stared back at the boy as he gazed into the still waters of the lake that provides water for the village. A heavy sigh escapes his lips and tears well up. He refuses to shed them. He will not show weakness even now when he is alone. He knows that for one such as him showing any sign of such weakness will bring even more hardships into his life.

He had been hopeful that today would be different from the others. After all this was the age when larvae started to show signs of maturing and the type of creature they would be. Genetics played a minor role as it was not unheard of for noble fairies to give birth to a larvae that becomes a centaur, but it also was not common.

Unfortunately, no changes had come about. He was losing hope of ever finding a place to belong. He had discovered early that the village viewed him as a plague since he had no parents and he himself was to young to actually contribute to the village. Though, they never said it with words, but rather the actions they allowed the others to perform on him.

"Just what am I? Why did my parents leave me in a place like this all alone?" His deep voice was filled with sadness as he spoke to his reflection.

"No, stop! Leave me alone!" A young distressed voice reached the boys ears. Turning to look he saw the only other person who had it as bad as him in the village.

The voice belonged to another boy who was a few years younger with red hair and crystal blue eyes and was barely three feet tall. The red hed hailed from a family of dishonored dwarves and as such they were also viewed as a plague.

The boy looking at the lake sighed again already knowing what was going to happen, but could not find it in himself to ignore the plight of others. "Rubrum hurry this way and I'll protect you." The young man calls out loud but under his breathe he continues, " Not that you'll ever actually thank me or even talk to me afterwards."

Rubrum noticed the young man and changed the direction he was running. it was than that those pursuing him became obvious. It was a gang of three, all of them descendants from the three strongest families and all three were supposedly elves.

"Well I guess my birthday really will be like any other day." The young mam mourned to himself as Rubrum ran past him without so much as a nod of acknowledgment.

Upon seeing him though the three chasing Rubrum started gripping their sides in laughter coming to a stop. "See boys what did I tell you. We start with the disgraced dwarf and we can end our day with this no name piece of garbage." the leader spoke in a high pitch femine voice that none would dare laugh at. His silver hair was tucked behind his pointed ears and flowed down his back. He stood at five foot but that was not why people feared him and his family. this was due to the fact his family could perform magic.

"As usual boss you are always right." The suck up on his right said in a nasal tone.

"Boss is he even worth making fun of at this point after all his existence is such a joke that he hasn't even started to show signs of maturing yet." the boy on his left said in between gasps for air.

The silver haired boy seemed surprised at this and looked more intently before replying. "You know what John I think you are absolutely right. How could we put this boy in his place when he has no place. He is not even worth bullying."

Though they were saying this the kid with no name refused to rise to the bait nor did he lower his guard. He knew better than to fight back since that would only incur the wraith of their parents but he would like to keep his injuries to a minimum so he could hunt later.

There was a brief moment of silence while the gang waited for a response but refusing to get one the leader tsked before spitting toward no name. "Come on guys there is nothing more to do here let me show you how strong my woodspeak has gotten." With that they all spat at no name and walked away.

No name let out an internal sigh of relief still refusing to let anything show on his face as he turned to leave. Unknown to him there were two figures hiding in the woods out of sight.

One was covered in armor and carried a greatsword on his back and an eerie green light spilling from his visor while the other was hunched over and covered by a tattered cloak.

"Are you sure he is the one?" The armor covered being asked.

"Yes, though I do not know what color he will be. I can definitely sense he his one of the ones we are looking for." replied tattered cloak.
