13 Would you like to have some?

Mayu stomped her feet as she walk towards his room and halted just in front of his door.

"Well mister accident, you may not know it but you have other doctors, too. Your eye doctor is different from the doctor following through with your accident. Ah, why am I even explaining this you?"

"Whatever." he just shrugged his shoulders. This is beneath me. I'm not letting this get to my nerves. You're not gonna get to my nerves. You're not... Argh! You're disgusting. You're so disgusting! Geezer! Aaah!!!

She heaved a deep breath and marched back to her room. She uttered a silent prayer when she closed the door behind her. God, give me patience now! I could kill this human being.

She just finished taking a shower when her phone lit up and saw that her brother had called her.

"Hello?"

"Hey sleepyhead," his voice sounds excited. It looks like he found out that she overslept.

"Don't annoy me today." he just chuckled.

"Not yet sleeping?" she had a brief recall of what happened today so she laid down on her bed, pulled the covers and told him today's events. She kept rambling and he just listened, giving her a gentle grunt when she's checking for a response. She fell asleep telling on Chryxso and his annoying mood. She knows her brother will talk to him next time. He better be, my brother is scary when it's all about me.

"Breakfast looks great! I'm already salivating. Did you have fried rice today?" Mayu bombarded the people at the kitchen when she came down. Well, it's actually the smell of smoked fish being cooked that woke her up. She pulled a chair and slumped herself comfortably only to come face to face with Chryxso who's already eating.

"You?" she unconciously blurted. He tried to swallow his food first before he answered.

"This is my house. I don't think something would be wrong if you find me anywhere in my house." Grrr. It's still early for battle you know. She grabbed a spoon and sterted filling her plate. Now, where is that smoked fish that woke me up?

"Do you have any request for breakfast Young Miss?" old Naning noticed her extending her neck looking for that blasted fish.

"Oh? None Ma'am. Not really..."

"Would you like some smoked fish?" Chryxso spoke with a hint of mockery on his voice. He pushed a plate of cooked smoked fish towards the middle of the table. She suddenly remembered how he refused her offer of the same food yesterday. She now felt like she has a contagious disease when he rudely refused her offer. Hmp, since you refused me yesterday, then eat that smoked fish until you choke.

"No, thanks. I already ate some yesterday." but the truth is, she's really aching to grab some fish and chow down the food. Grrr! He's really annoying! Old Naning may have noticed her mouth already watering so she slink her a piece which she simply denied. Ugh. If I can just gouge those taunting eyes!

"Will you be going somewhere today?"

"I thought we're already through with this discussion."

"I was just asking,"

"I'm off to work."

"Can I come-"

"No." she blinked.

"I won't-"

"No."

"I'll just-"

"No."

"What the hell, let me finish."

"The answer is still no." he stood up and gestured for someone to assist him. He bellowed few more curses when his face hit the door frame. Serves you right.

"Why is everyone moving like a snail today? Are you waiting to be fired? You're impossible!" he continued roaring. Mayu scratched her her in defeat when she saw that no one dared to come near the guy now. She quickly finished her meal and approached him. She grabbed his hand and laid it on her shoulder.

"You really are short," she let out an enduring smile and took a deep breath. Okay fine, I brought this to myself, I can do this. Mayu, breath in. Ha, that's better.

"How did you?" she looked at him and managed to ask without sounding annoyed. Can he see now? He's still looking forward though.

"My employees know their place." She just raised her eyebrows in a knowing look.

"Well I'm not your employee."

"I can pay you." I know, I'm broke, she eyed him suspiciously. Does he know? How dare him!

"Shut up!" she heard him chuckle. Go on, put more fuel on the fire. I'll really thwack you this time!

"What?" She just heard him ask. Huh?

"What?"

"Did I just hear you say you'll thwack me?" Oooops! Really?

"I did not say anything. Stop imagining things. And where are you off to now?" she quickly changed the subject. Me and my big mouth!

"To shower."

"To shower?"

"Yeah. I can't let a kid wash me up. I'll be a laughingstock if I allow that. This macho man would be humiliated." he mocked.

"Stop calling me a kid!"

"So I can kiss you now?" his question came like a whirlwind. She gaped at him, unable to find words to say, but he ended up laughing as he stepped inside his room and closed the door.

"Hahaha. In your dreams!" she kicked the door and jumped back in pain before she hopped back to her room.

Mayu is busily shaking off any dirt on her clothes when Glenn, the driver, advanced towards her. The guy is good-looking with a good physique. He acts like a security slash driver for Chryxso. The old driver yesterday was the old man Aresta's own driver.

Glenn has kind eyes and attentive with her silly jokes while they waited for Chryxso to finish suiting up. He directly reports to Chryxso.

Her flurry of inquiries allowed her to know a little bit about him. Glenn is a single father. His fiance died during childbirth before they even got married. His eight-month old child is currently under the care of his widowed mother.

"What are you doing here? How did you get here? I thought you're going for a run? Why do you look disheveled? Did you get lost again?"

"Nope. I followed you," his eyes widened.

"Did you run?"

"Nope, I took a lift."

"You took a lift?" he frowned. "Did you hide in the compartment?" she just smiled. Duh. As if I'll run that long way. You did not close the compartment anyway. He put his hands on his hips. Uh-oh.

"Yumi, you'll get Chryxso mad if he finds out that you're here at the office. Go home now," he shooed her away. They're all on first name basis at the mansion, a little info she found out. Only the newly hired helps sometimes follow what old Naning usually calls her and they're also the best subjects of Chryxso's outbursts.

"Nope. He doesn't know I came here you with you anyway. I'll just tell him I got lost again, ehehe." she said and left him standing defeated. She heard him call her name but she just kept on walking.

"Now, to the main target." she straightened her clothes and scanned the area to look for her patient. She doesn't know what he's wearing right now as she's busy hiding within the car compartment when she spotted him coming out of the house.

She lied that she'll go for a jog and old Naning just reminded her to bring her phone along in case she gets lost again. Tsk, I should've also asked where that guy is, it's too hard to look for him, she whined.

It's a high rise building. She's not sure if the building reached ten floors or not but what she's sure off is the fact that Chryxso owns the building. All from his own sweat and hardword, as he had reiterated. The lower floors are rented out by a couple of companies but the other half of the building serves as a hotel and office for him. Her biggest problem is locating the guy himself. She found out that the top floor is his office but renovation is on going still so she concluded that the guy won't go there fow now.

Where is that block of wood? She saw Glenn from a distance entering the elevator. She darted towards the elevator as the doors were about to close.

"Yumi! I have not even seen my child grow. Won't you have mercy and stop giving me a heart attack?" he looked super shocked with her sudden entrance.

"Sorry," she smiled mischievously. He just closed his eyes and let out a sigh of defeat.

"I'll also close my eyes if he scolds you," she pouted in dismay.

"I thought we're friends now,"

"That's why I've been telling you to go home."

"Uh,"

"What 'uh'? I'll let you be since I won't be the one getting scolded anyway." she pouted more.

"Don't you worry about your boss? He needs to rest. He may get in other accidents while he can't see yet." she tried to reason.

"I appreciate your concern but I can take care of myself. In fact, I won't get lost even if I walk alone here." they both gasped when they heard Chryxso's annoyed voice as the elevator door opened.
