8 Chapter 8 “Things I do, Because I love you”
Yin Ivy Lee's POV
I'm really delighted that Yang is back and that we were catching up for all the years that we've missed. I feel the love of a family that I've longed for since dad died. I feel at home, I feel safe and sound whenever Yang is near, he's the only person that could make me feel this way.
I knew that Yang would ask me to marry him sooner or later so he could make his parents happy and to strengthen the company. I'm not mad that he's going to marry me just for that reason. It doesn't matter to me whether I marry the person I love in a romantic way or marry the person I love because he makes me feel safe. It's Yang! I know him for my entire existence, he sure is the perfect husband to be. But I kept on asking him 'Are you sure about this?' 'Aren't you going to regret this?' but he answered me firmly, 'If it wasn't you, I wouldn't ask anyone to marry me'.
We arranged the wedding together, he's happy, his smiles were genuine. But what concerned me the most is that, I know what he truly wants. We love each other but not like the way our parents would want us to be.
Flashback
So, the night before the wedding day I went to Zheng's residence without Yang's knowledge.
"Mr. and Mrs. Zheng, I know that our families are really good friends and I am ever thankful for what your family has done for mine. I'm sorry I can't love Yang the way you and my dad wants, I do love him as a brother, he's like my other half. In behalf of that, I would want to ask the both of you to support Yang in facing his problems, let him be with the woman he truly loves, I know you don't like her, but they don't have that much time, if he will be wed, I know that it will lock him down in a certain emotion that he won't be able to explain, but for certain, it will hurt him and his regrets would hunt him."
"So, do you like to call off the wedding?" Mr. Zheng asked
"I'm going to ask Yang tomorrow for the last time. Then everything will follow based on his answer. But I humbly ask from the bottom of my heart, please support your son with his decisions in life. I just want him to be genuinely happy. This is how much love I have for him."
I am willing to marry him, loving him won't be difficult because I already do, being with him for the rest of my life would be really great but I don't know if Yang would ever feel the same…
"You grew up very well Ivy…" Mrs. Zheng said.
"Thank you for loving him like your own family. We understand your point and we are very thankful to you for helping us realize our mistake as a parent. We know what to do now."
"As a present to your family and to express my gratitude for all the help"
I hand out an envelope with contracts
"Those are investment contracts, to help save Golden Dragons, I heard a lot of shareholders sold their shares and you sold some of your shares too. You might lose the power over the company if ever your stock will go down that's why I bought them off and placed it under Yang's name. I will ask him myself to run your company, I will lend him a hand."
"Ivy, this is too much!" Mr. Zheng is on the verge of crying
"It's just a small thing, compared to what you did for our company before, Mr. Zheng"
"I helped you because you were like my own daughter, but you called me Mr. Zheng every time we meet. It's funny…" he chuckled…
"I want to give you all my respect as my senior in this industry, you were like an icon for me in running a company."
"We're very thankful Ivy" Yuan's Mom hugged me.
"You're always welcome…"
"We have always been your second family how about you call us mom and dad and forget all the formalities, even though you won't be married to our son you're the precious daughter of your late father who is a brother to us."
"Mom, dad…"
"Yes dear… Please teach Yang so he could learn from you."
End of Flashback

"----I can't keep you fenced in a relationship that could change how we would be in the future. You don't have to worry…"
I looked at Ivan's parents. They smiled at me.
"I've already talked to them."
I opened my arms wide and hugged him.
"I've already brought my help to your company let's talk about the details later, you don't have to worry about your parents, I talked to them and they gave their blessings. I love you Yang and this are the things I can and will do because I love you. Follow your heart. Be with her and fight the battle with her" After telling him what has really happened, we let go from our hug.
"She's here Yang…" I was able to get Coleen to come here to the wedding.
I went to the exit door that is near and saw Coleen in a beautiful dress. She was very pretty even though her grave illness shows.
Yang walked towards her and gave her a hug. That's where he belongs.
I saw the guests faces, sympathizing towards the lover's story. I walked down the Aisle aiming the exit of the church. But I saw Yuan.
"Miss Ivy…"
