"Hello?"
"Yes miss" says the person on the other line
"Yeah! My plane just landed, can you send someone to pick me up?"
"The driver is already on his way miss, he says it'll take 15 minutes until he arrive"
"Okay fine, tell him to text me when he arrives"
"Yes miss!!"

It's really hot! Damn!! Where's my electronic fan? I'm rummaging my hand bag looking for my fan
"Where's that freaking fan!! Ahhhhh!!!"
I dropped my fan when someone hit me…
"I'm sorry miss! I'm really so-------"
He looked at me and I took a good view of his face
"Miss Yin Lee???"
"Yuan Mendez…" I uttered
******FLASHBACKING 5 YEARS AGO
"Did you found your name on the list?" Loren asked, my best friend, since first year of college
"Wait I'm looking for it"
"Don't be nervous for sure you'll pass" she said as she sipped on her cup of hot choco

"damn…" I froze
���what?" she looked at my laptop's screen
"Oh my God!!! Attorney Lee!!!!!!"
"Is that even real? Can you- can you slap me?" I said when I suddenly stood up out of disbelief
"Ivy I don't have to slap you that's freakin' real!!!"
"Ohhh!! Heavens!!" I said as my knees gave up and just knelt on the ground and cried
"So, Ivy are you finally going to confess to your 6-year crush?"
"Yuan?" I muttered
"Yeah, I heard he just broke up with our school beauty, Florence Young"
"Why did they break up?"
"Apparently, the girl took off with Yuan's business capital to open a hotel, she flew with another man"
"Yuan is in a legal battle with his Ex, I heard he's totally broke, his parents even dumped him…"
"what?"
"His parents were against that girl but Yuan didn't listen, they told him to cut his connections to Mendez group of companies unless he gets rid of Florence in his life…"
"What kind of drama are they filming? That's so melodramatic" I said
"HA!! Look who's talking!! As if you didn't film your own drama when you tried to keep your crush for 6 years, haven't you forgot when you were a junior in psychology department you were all over him?"
"Well I couldn't confess that time, he'll probably turn me down anyway, and his family won't like me for sure."
"But why? you're pretty, you're even the Beauty of the psychology department and Law school department and you're damn smart!!!"
"My family wasn't doing well that time, our financial state has been plummeting, you know well, we're all debts here and there and I know his family is too well off, of course it's given they wouldn't take someone like me who's going down the drain, Beauty won't save me…"
"Well your brain does, you're able to save your businesses while doing Law school and I found that amusing… Girl you should confess!!"
"I had no choice but to run the business, my father is in a coma, I had to do the job, it's been 4 years that time… he still hasn't woken up… Now it's been what? Almost 8 years since he's in a coma"
"He will soon don't worry, that's why you should confess!!"
"Sh-should I try??"
"Why not?!"
Well I'm already 24 and I'm a lawyer now I was able to save the company too but we just got back on our feet… why not give it a try…

A/N: Yuan Mendez 24, Business management graduate and currently planning to put a 5 star hotel.
"Attorney, I need Florence to bring back my money!!"
"Sir Mendez It will be difficult to locate her since she got out of the country… We have a lesser chance on bringing back your money…"
"Is there anything we can do to locate her? I'm sure she used her passport while fleeing"
"Sir, she took off using a private plane and passed the ports back door… we can't locate her as of the moment…"
"Damn it!!"
This is frustrating!!! after trusting her with all that I have?! She dared to leave me alone? Damn it!!!
I went home to my family's villa hoping they could help me out… I know we've cut ties but they're my family…
"Mom…"
She just looked at me
"you're drunk…" she said
"I am… but, mom I need your help…"
"Your woman flew with your money… I know… Is that why you're here?"
"Mom c-can you----" tears rolled down my eyes… I don't want to talk about that I just wanted for her to listen to my problems and keep me company
"Haven't I warned you about that woman!!!??"
"Mom I just want some---"
"Now you want money?!?"
"No mom- I just----"
"Get out!!! You're no longer welcome here!! Go!! or I'll call the guards…"
"I can't believe you, all I wanted was someone to talk to mom!!! Don't worry I'm leaving…"
I left the house and went home when I got a text from an unknown number

The coffee shop's full I should wait here outside….
I stood near at the entrance
10 minutes
30 minutes
"Oh? is it going to rain?" the shop's closing early? Oh no…
I checked the weather forecast it seems like a typhoon just entered the country
"Is he gonna come?" I looked around but he's nowhere to be found
Then it started raining really hard
"damn I don't have my umbrella, he'll probably be here soon, right?"
An hour passed
The second hour passed
Then a guy came in front of me…
"Yuan…"
"I guess you're stupid!! why'd you still wait here? You should've left when I didn't come!!!"
"But you're here"
"So, what is it you're going to tell me? this better be important…"
"Yuan, I like you for 6 years now, I like you when you were still a junior in business management department, I recently just had the------"
"Cut the crap out… are you one of those pick-up girls who hit on rich people?!? I'm so done with you girls you only want money and fame from your partners!!!"
He grabbed my shoulders tight and forcefully kissed me it was rough and harsh I was pinned to the wall as he tried to kiss me more and held my waist so I couldn't move.
I couldn't stand it!! this hurts me as a person so much!!! He tried to touch some sensitive part but before he could do that, I slapped him!!!
"Hey!! What's wrong with you isn't this what you wanted?! Huh?!!! I'm just giving it to you!! Do you feel offended that we're doing this on the street!?! You want me to book a room?!?"
"Stop! Yuan!! This is not ----"
"Cut the crap I know what you want!!!"
He took his wallet and threw some money at my face
"Take those and leave me alone bitch!!!"
He left without looking back, I don't know I'd be hurt this bad, left in the rain by someone I thought was a nice person. I stood there crying for 5 whole hours drenched and felt lost, he screamed, he said things that I thought I wouldn't hear from the man I like. That was even my first kiss and he stole it from me, it's not heart fluttering at all, I hated it to the point I feel so ridiculed and small…
Then, I heard my phone ringing
"Hello?"
"I'll be right there…"
I started driving hurriedly but I felt dizzy… the road is… I can't see well… Something flashed!! The lights are so bright!!!!

"Miss Yin Lee"
"You must be mistaken…" I smiled and turned around
"I'm not…" he grabbed my arm
"Excuse me?!? Let go of my arm or I'll press a harassment charge!!"
"I'm sorry…" he said then let go of my arm…
I turned around and left, luckily the car was right on time…
I went immediately to the company, 'cause there's no room for rest. I was walking at the lobby where my secretary was waiting.
"I heard that he resigned?"
"whoooo??" my secretary is really bad at picking things up… tsk!
"The Management Director I hired 5 months ago!!! Who else?!?"
"y-yes miss Ivy in fact here is his resignation letter…"
I opened the envelope of his resignation letter
"He says my personality is awful… Hah!!!" I smiled in disbelief
"It's not awful his just bad at everything!!!" I shouted
"You!! Find me a topnotch this time, anyway this company isn't a joke to begin with…"
"Yes miss…"
"Wait!! Fine��� since you pretty suck at judging people send three topnotch applicants to me in three days, the interview will be done by me…"
"Yes miss…"
I haven't been really practicing actively as a lawyer but I do accept special cases and pro bonos from time to time. I became a prosecutor for 3 years- a year after I passed the bar exam while continuing to manage our business. As the business got bigger, I thought of giving up being a prosecutor to concentrate on my family's business. But I just couldn't leave my first love, being a lawyer.
"Is the conference room ready?"
"Yes miss"
I head to the conference room to discuss about the new hotel we're about to open…
"Has anyone got better ideas than this trash?!?!" I threw the proposal to the table
"I gave you guys a month for this project, yet you'll give me trash?!?!!"
I stood up and slammed my hands against the conference table, I rose the volume of my voice and talked with a deep tone…
"I'm not investing my money on you people, just so you could give me crap… I'm giving you all 72 hours to come up with a good launching project for the hotel… It'd better be good this time…"
"Yes miss"
"Dismissed!!" I turned around and signaled them with my hand to go away…
When the room got empty, I sat down and massaged my head…
"AAAAA IIIIII VVV YYYYY"
"Shhh!!" I hushed
"What's wrong?" Loren asked
"I have tons of dumb employees I'm paying…"
"Oh, come on!! You just came back!!! Don't get stressed out…"
"How could I not?!"
"Anyway, I'm going to the reunion tomorrow, are you coming?"
"Which reunion are you talking about?"
"Our school reunion"
"School?"
"Our college…"
"I'll pass, I have a court trial tomorrow…"
"No… you don't! I already checked your schedule with you secretary…"
"I'm tired Loren, I can't come…"
"What?! But you haven't come for the last five years!!"
"Then count another year…"
"Are you afraid of seeing him there?"
"What do you mean?"
"Yuan~"
"I saw him at the airport earlier…"
"Yuan?!?"
"Did he saw you?"
"Yeah… but I said he got the wrong person…"
"You can't forgive him?"
I was just silent…
"Fine I'll just tell others you're busy…"
"thanks…"
The Office has been a chaos for days since I told them to repeat the proposal, I guess they haven't gone home yet since the last meeting we had.
*Call Incoming*
"Yes, Hello?"
"Miss Ivy this is from Zhen Interiors we are at your Hotel and we're planning some modifications in the interior, is it fine with you to come here to check on our new proposal?"
"I'll be right over, give me an hour…"
I was heading to the VIP parking of my building to get my car.
"Miss Ivy! Miss Ivy!"
"What?!"
"These are the applicants for the new management director…"
"I'm in a hurry, go pick from one of the three make sure that he has the best credentials and background then let her sign the contract first and make her come to our new hotel, within 2 hours… tell her not to be late…"
"Y-yes miss…"
I took off and reached the Hotel within 45 minutes
"Miss Ivy!! I'm so glad to see you…"
"Madame Ynna are you here to supervise your staffs?"
"Well yes this is our biggest project for this year! Thank you for choosing us anyway…"
"Miss Ivy shall we proceed with our new proposal?"
"Of course…"
"So were planning to use some modern chandeliers instead of antique-looking ones it makes the hotel look fancier… We have also collaborated with In-Tech to automate some room functions for the presidential and VIP rooms, we will also include your office…"
"This proposal is great I love it"
"Miss Ivy we will be sending new designs of the rooms and the lobby on your Email"
"Okay, I'll be looking forward to that" we all stood up and shook hands
"Miss Ivy would you mind having a cup of coffee with us"
"I'm sorry but I have to excuse myself I have to meet my new Management Director (MD) today"
"Oh, well we have some other time, right?"
"Of course…" I smiled
So, I'm waiting at the hotel for the new MD.
"I was pretty sure that I told you to send him within 2 hours, right?!?!" I was talking at the phone with my secretary
"Yes miss, he left the office after signing a 1 year contract with us, he should be there in a minute"
"I hate employees who are late always late… call him, and tell him to hurry up unless he wants to get fired!!!"
"Yes miss…"
I ended the call and waited at the unfinished lobby of the Hotel
"Hello, I'm your New Management Director…"
I faced the guy who was talking, and I wasn't expecting he would be here…
"Miss Yin Lee?"
"Who are you? You said?" I asked
"Are you the Owner of the Lotus group of companies?"
"Yes, I am…"
"I-I am Yuan Mendez the newly hired MD, you are Yin Ivy Lee, right?"
"You're fired!!" I walked out
"Hey!!! You can't just fire me!! Hey wait!!" he grabbed my arm
"Let go…"
"I'm sorry, Well you can't just fire me, I mean you just hired me and I just signed a contract, it states here you can't fire me unless you have reasonable grounds to do so and we just met and I haven't done anything yet… perhaps you know well about the contract because you're a lawyer anyway…."
"Fine! I can't fire you… You're right… report at my office tomorrow, 7 am sharp…"
I turned around and walked away
"Yin!"
I stopped walking but I didn't face him
"One more thing… I am your boss, I'll be the one paying you, don't you think its right to address me accordingly?"
"Five years ago, I'm really sorry about that…"
"I don't need any apology, you're too late…"
I left him at the building and I went home and I called Loren to tell her what just happened. I found out that a month after he saw me, he left for the US to work there and only returned after 5 years, eventually he hasn't been in contact with his family and he was on his own. Even when he was in the US, he wasn't able to recover his status that's when he came to apply for our company.
