4 004 Care Package

After taming the slime a new tab appeared on my menu display.

-As Long as physical contact between pet and master is occurring, all negative status changing effects are absorbed by pet and dissipated.

I sighed deeply.

"It's a passive skill instead of an offensive one. Well there goes my plan to hunt twice as many monsters. Of course I can't complain too much it's a really useful skill."

Thinking of this, I tried to think of ways to solve the very obvious problem. How do I get him attached to me so that it can take effect?

Sir Blob stopped rolling around and looked at me. It opened its mouth and made strange noises.

BLOOP BLOOP BLOOP!

It had finally lost all that grass weight. I guess it just needed some time to digest. Was it still hungry? Sir Blob slowly compressed itself and I was starting to get wary. Was it going to attack me despite me being it's master? Suddenly it jumped on me landing atop of my head.

After being startled I started screaming at it.

"Hey get off my head! Wrap yourself around my arm instead! What..are...you....AGHHHHHH!"

No amount of fighting and pulling made him move. He remained firmly stuck atop my head. Well I guess now I don't have to worry about him being attached.

After sighing again I scrolled to the other red dot on my menu. It was over my messages.

I trust you made it to the plains safely. As promised I sent a care package for you. It should help speed up your growth.

Don't forget, you have one year to reclaim your soul from the Grove Of The End.

After that I estimate I only have enough power left to hold back the evil plaguing this land for maybe one more year. If you don't succeed we all perish.

"Well outside of the unneeded stress, the fact that there is an undiscovered secret area makes things interesting. I wonder what loot it might contain. Let's not think about it too much. For now let's open the care package then make finding that area a priority."

I closed the message and opened up my inventory. It was completely empty except for a present box called "Maybe Ten Surprises". I chuckled.

"So she heard my comment after all."

I selected the item and it appeared in front of me at my feet. An over the top blue and white stripped box with a massive red bow was before me. I tore into it like a kid on his birthday.

Peering over its contents I had a happy thought.

"With these items it won't take me long at all."

First, I pulled a chest plate. Dark black and red scales adorned it. I recognized immediately that they were scales belonging to a basilisk.

After equipping it, it's information appeared.

- 50% chance to poison enemy upon impact. 2% chance to severely poison enemy upon impact.

Poison damage consumes 5% of enemy's health per minute.

This was an insane ability however, I needed to be hit for the armor's ability to activate. That part I wasn't too excited about but the stat increased this provided meant that I wouldn't have to change it until maybe floor 40. I'll brainstorm later how to get the armor effect to go off consistently.

Turning back to the box I found a massive dark purple stone. Picking it up provided it's information.

-Upon consumption will be able to summon "Death's Favor." [Permanent]

"This I've never heard of before".

I crushed the rune and slowly the purple leaked out and my body began to naturally absorb it.

[Ability Gained]

I extended my hand out and silently called out Death's favor. Immediately a longer than normal one handed sword appeared. Gripping it tightly I started to examine it. Surrounding the entire blade was a reddish aura. The blade itself was exquisite. The left half of the blade was several inches longer than the right. The right side however did not lose out to the left side as it had a wicked looking serrated section. As my eyes traced down I saw that skulls decorated the hilt and skeletal wings extended from the guard. At its end was black pommel that seems to distort the space directly around it. Suddenly it's status window opened.

"Souls of the weak?"

Did it mean weak monsters or just anyone weaker than me? The only way to find out would be to put it to use.

Looking at the gift box there were two items left. One was a bag containing 5,000 pieces of gold. The final was a small vial containing a glowing yellow liquid.

-Upon consumption, player is able to multiply any one number on their status by 10.

Any one number? Wait! If this is true then I'll easily achieve strength beyond what I had before. This is incredible!!! I am only level one right now but if I keep raising my stats and I drink this, I'll gain ten times any one of my stats. This is absurd. All the more reason now to hurry and power level.

I put it in my dimension pocket for safe keeping.

This was an incredible help. I will definitely be able to speed things up.

For the time being my focus should be on rapid growth so that I can get to floor 85.

The Grove Of The End.

My Soul is sealed there. Once I acquire it I'll gain everything I lost. The faster I get to it the sooner I can put an end to all this.

Silently thanking Autumn for the gifts, Sir blob (still perched on my head) and I started wandering the plains.

"She said there was a secret area right? Let's find it and see what else we can gain. "
