40 Rookidee's Evolution
'Okay, now let's return to Xiong Yong and Zhizhu'
Wang Shóu thought as he morphed his Basulin form back into Pikachu.
He then gazed at the Wind Core Herb and a few other heavenly and earthly treasures.
'Thankfully, I have Inventory which makes it easier to carry things around'
Wang Shóu mused.
'But uhhh how do I use it? I think I'm supposed to mentally think of putting things into the Inventory?'
Questioning and confirming at the same time, Wang Shóu focused his gaze on the heavenly and earthly treasures.
Then he mentally commanded his mind to store the objects into the inventory. 'Inventory, inventory...'
The next second, there was a very slight space fluctuation that Wang Shóu couldn't sense, but with his own eyes, he saw the heavenly and earthly treasures disappear.
Blinking, Wang Shóu immediately felt a large space in his mind. The experience was hard to describe, but he was able to look at the content inside and access it with ease.
At the same time, he felt that he could take things in and out of the space quite easily.
'Nice. My life will be a lot more convenient now'
Wang Shóu concluded, nodding satisfied, before heading back to where his companions were.

Soon, darkness descended upon the Great Star Dou Forest, and it was almost silent, almost serene amidst the nocturnal animals grazing in the night.
Unfortunately, with human civilization progressing further, it was becoming rarer to see the beautiful stars at night.
Xiong Yong, the giant bear, rested on his arm, snoring loudly. Zhizhu, a spider, hung upside down on a branch of a very large tree, sleeping softly.
Charmeleon, the red lizard-like creature, leaned against the tree, his eyes closed as if sleeping.
Wang Shóu, in his Pikachu form, a yellow mouse, slumbered quietly on top of a large rock.
The sight of this scene, with various races sleeping peacefully amidst the faint moonlight, was almost a rare sight to behold.
But someone was still awake amidst this peaceful scene. In the night, a tall yellow ear perked up.
Opening his eyes, Wang Shóu quietly looked around. Seeing that everybody was asleep, he nimbly jumped from the top of the large rock and landed softly on the grass.
Then he quietly sneaked forward, walking amidst the tall grasses.
When passing by Xiong Yong, he suddenly froze in place as Xiong Yong made a growling noise.
"Grr..."
Xiong Yong's eyes were tightly shut, but they scrunched as if he was having an unpleasant dream. Growling once more, Xiong Yong then, the next second, suddenly rolled over.
Rolling over until Xiong Yong's belly was showing, only then did Xiong Yong's brow unscrunch. Xiong Yong then snored once again, drool falling from his mouth.
Wang Shóu, who was motionless the entire time, quietly breathed a sigh of relief.
He then moved forward again until he was about forty meters away from Xiong Yong and Zhizhu's location.
Then he quietly changed his form into Rookidee and flapped his wings, rising up in the air.
He propelled his wings forward, flying amidst the forest of trees, quickly navigating through them and avoiding any spirit beasts nearby.
After fifteen minutes, feeling that he was far away enough, he quickly landed on top of a boulder up ahead.
Focusing inside his mind, he quickly found the Wind Core Herb in the inventory space and mentally thought to take it out.
The next second, a small green herb appeared on top of the rock, emitting an attractive and fresh fragrance spreading through the forest.
Knowing the danger of this fragrance, such as attracting many powerful spirit beasts, Wang Shóu quickly split himself into both Pikachu and Rookidee.
In his Pikachu form, Wang Shóu immediately used the move, Light Screen.
Five large walls, filled with shimmering light, appeared in the air.
Wang Shóu then manipulated those five walls of light to surround the Wind Core Herb, forming a cube.
Now that the Wind Core Herb was inside the Light Screen cube, the attractive fragrance was trapped inside, unable to escape.
'Excellent. It works better than I thought!'
Wang Shóu thought, satisfied with his work.
A few months ago, when he was training his moves in order to create fusion moves, he found that Pokémon moves were like malleable metal.
They may seem like singular moves, but if you understand a move and explore it deeply, the Pokémon move can be changed to fit many different scenarios and even change into a brand new move.
After consulting his system, he summed up Pokémon moves into four different levels of mastery based on the proficiency and effectiveness with which a Pokémon can execute them.
Basic: At the level of learning to use the move. It is not fully understand how to utilize the move strategically, and its effectiveness is weaker than usually.
Advanced: After practicing the move extensively, the move can be executed effectively to its full potential and understands its basic applications in battles. And the move can be changed to fit different scenario, though it is very basic.
Expert: The move has been honed to a high level and it can be executed with precision, timing it effectively to capitalize on battle situations, and demonstrated remarkable powers beyond its usual effectiveness. With deeper understanding of the move itself, it can be used creatively in most scenarios.
Mastery: The highest level of mastery attainable for a move. At this level, it can execute the move flawlessly and boast twice the power of its usual effectiveness. Understanding the move to the very limit, it can be used in any scenario. Two same move of Perfect Mastery are very different from each other as the move itself change, depending on the user itself.
Right now, most of the moves that Wang Shóu learned were at the level of Proficient Mastery, and only Iron Tail, Electro Ball, Flamethrower, and Sing were at Expert Mastery, thanks to using them for a long time.
Leaving his Pikachu form to maintain Light Screen, he switched to his Rookidee form.
Hopping to the Wind Core Herb, Wang Shóu readied himself to consume it and evolve.
'Let's do it!'
Consuming the Wind Core Herb with his small beak, he felt a torrent of energy gushing through his body and he could feel the vibrant power of the wind contained in the energy.
He felt a familiar thrilling sensation like a splash of cold water, coursing down from his spine.
Soon, a radiant glow unique to evolution emitted from his body, and his body began to morph into a different form.
In the midst of the dazzling light, lighting up the dark forest around, the process of evolution continued until it reached a critical moment.
In the midst of the radiant glow, the small ball-like bird shape began to morph into a larger crow-like shape. Its small wings extended further, and its beak became larger and sharper than before.
Soon, the brilliant glow of evolution began to die down and the once bright forest returned to its previous appearance as the dark forest.
After the evolution, what was Rookidee stood the appearance of Corvisquire, a crow-like, avian Pokémon.
Its tail and dorsal feathers had a navy coloration, and its breast feathers were blue-gray. Matte black feathers accentuated its wing-tips, ruff, and face, which was adorned with a mask-like crest. Its beak and three-toed feet were gray, and it had black talons. Its eyes were red and rimmed beneath with a white patch.
And its beak and talons reflected a piercing, ominous light, reflecting the sharpness that seemed to tear anything that it grabbed hold of.
Wang Shóu had now officially evolved from Rookidee into Corvisquire!
'Nice. Not bad, I feel a lot stronger than before'
Brimming with overflowing power as he raised his larger wings, Wang Shóu nod in satisfaction.
'Too bad there isn't enough energy left remaining to level up'
He thought, remembering when he consumed the Sunroot Herb, there was still enough energy left for Charmeleon to level up two more times.
But unlike that time where Charmeleon was level 18, Rookidee - now Corvisquire, was now level 26, obviously requiring more experience to level up.
'Oh well. Now let's check my Statue Window.'
Bringing up a blue panel in the air, Wang Shóu glanced at it.
