2 I'm not 50 Years Old!

It took some time, but I finally managed to accept the fact that I really did became a Pikachu.

"Pika? Pika?" (But how did I even turn into a Pikachu in the first place?)

I scratched my head with my short, furry paw as I pondered this in confusion.

'Anyway, where am I? Am I in the world of Pokemon?'

I looked around, taking in the lush and vibrant forest, hearing the birds chirping, and the growls of animals.

Hmm, if I'm in the world of Pokemon, it's possible this is Viridian Forest in the Kanto Region.

Leaning forward awkwardly, I began to move in a four-legged posture. To my surprise, it felt natural, just as natural as breathing.

Perhaps because I'm a Pikachu now?

Moving cautiously, I leaned down, moving slowly, trying to conceal myself among the tall grasses.

I'm a huge fan of Pokemon. The wide variety of Pokemon, the emotions they show, the excitement of battles that simulate the instincts hidden deep in the body—all of it deeply attracted me. Sometimes, I would stay up late to watch episodes of Pokemon.

But this is reality now, not anime. As someone who often delved into the lore of Pokemon and read Pokemon Adventures, I knew very well that the Pokémon world is not as gentle as it looks; it's far more dangerous than the wilderness back on Earth.

Sneaking around, I suddenly remembered something.

'Hey, weren't there a bunch of Fan-Fic novels about reincarnating into the Pokemon world and obtaining a system?'

It's almost the same case as my situation. I was about to get hit or got hit by a truck, and then somehow became a Pokémon. I suddenly had a question mark in my head.

Uhh, does that mean I'm a protagonist in a novel? My situation is suspiciously almost the same as the situation of the protagonist in fan-fic novels.

[Author deleted the thoughts as it might break the 4th-wall.]

(Author: Seriously, Doki Doki Literature Club is already terrifying enough. I don't need that in my book.)

Uh? What was I thinking about? I forgot somehow.

I scratched my head in confusion, not knowing that the author had deleted the terrifying thought he just had.

Well, no matter, according to the fan-fic novels, when the protagonist reincarnates into an anime, they also somehow gain an almighty system.

Maybe, I might have a system too? How do you call the system out anyway?

"Pika? Pikachu?" (System? System? Are you there? If so, please respond to me)

To my surprise, the system really did respond back to me!

[Hello, I'm your system. It is a pleasure to meet you. Is there anything you need?]

I was surprised and felt a bit flattered by the polite tone of the system. I thought systems in fan-fic novels are arrogant and tended to oppose the MC. So I asked.

"Pika, pika. Pika, pikachu" (Uh, hello. Nice to meet you too. Though, I'm surprised. I thought you, as a system, would be...arrogant)

[Well, on other systems, that would be correct. But I'm a system that is created to help you, so that would be unnecessary. Also, you don't need to verbally speak to me; you can talk to me mentally too.]

Understanding the reason, I nodded and tried to speak mentally, wanting to ask some questions.

'I see, thanks. So who created you, and how are you going to help me?'

[I don't exactly know. What I do know is that somehow, when you were about to be hit by a truck, a mysterious energy that seemed to come from the truck sent you to another world and somehow allowed me to be created from your deepest wish.]

[And as for your second question, I can allow you to see your status window and give you suggestions as you progress on your journey.]

'I see...you said that you are created from my deepest wish, right? What exactly is my deepest wish?'

[Analyzing the thought you had when you were about to die, it can be inferred that your deepest wish is to help animals and make up for your regrets of being unable to help your previous animal family.]

'...I see. That would not be incorrect...I do indeed have those thoughts...'

As I reminisced about my previous wolf family and the five adopted dogs, a sense of sadness washed over me once again. Shaking my head to clear my mind, I inquired again, 'Anyway, you mentioned that I have a status window I can view, right? I would like to see it, please.'

Without hesitation, a small blue profile suddenly appeared in the air, displaying the profile of a Pikachu.

[Name: ???]

[Race: Pikachu]

[Level: 5 (50 Years)]

'...Quite pitiful and not much to show...by the way, what's up with the question mark in the name section?'

[You are in a new world, and the different worlds have varying cultures, sometimes influenced by Japan, Korea, China, Britain, etc. To blend in, you'll need a name that fits into the world's culture.]

'I see...but I'm in a Pokemon world, and judging from what I remember, Japanese, Hebrew, Greek, and Latin names should work here. So, I don't know why I need a new name.'

'Also, what's up with the section behind the level? I know I'm not 50 years old; I'm 35 years old!'

[You may have misunderstood the world you are in right now. We are not in the world of Pokemon; we are in the world of-]

I couldn't hear the system's words clearly. The moment the system said I wasn't in the Pokemon world, suddenly my hair on the back of my neck stood on end, and I clearly felt a bloodthirsty killing intent directed at me.

Without hesitation, I swiftly dodged, relying on the speed and reflexes of the Pikachu I currently embodied.

Immediately after my dodge, I caught a glimpse of a slithery, long body lunging and crashing into the ground.

Turning around, I tried to identify the creature that had attacked me. The culprit was a one-meter-long snake with two sharp fangs protruding from its mouth and have the eyes of a predator fixated on its prey.

It was then that I could finally hear the system clearly.

[You are in the world of Douluo Dalu, in the era of Douluo Dalu 3, The Legend of the Dragon King.]
