6 Chapter 6: Time-Skip
[On a roof in the middle of nowhere.]
[ROB: Hello everyone, ROB here, did you guys miss me.]
[Author: Hey! There you are. Time to get deleted. *pulls out an RPG]
[ROB: Well guys, it been a short talk but got to go. *Jump off the roof epicly with explosion going off behind him.]
[Author: Damn it he got away again, ah yes, reader, be sure to tell me when you see that ROB again, I'll make sure to get rid of him.]

About four years and a month have passed since that Rai came to live with the Homura family. A month after he stay with them, he found out that Seika was born one month after him, a day before her birthday. He took some of the little money that his dad have left and decide to ask Grandpa Homura to take him to buy a present for Seika. When he was there he saw a silver-blueish wolf style hair clip and then remember that Seika is always wearing a hair clip so he bought that for her. She been wearing the wolf style hair clip ever since.
Two years after Rai start living with the Homura, he found an old book detailing advance training with the sword. He went to ask Grandpa Homura about the book and found out that Grandpa Homura was a master martial artist, not a spirit master but just a normal martial artist.
Rai realize that this was his chance to get a head start on training to become a spirit master so he kept bothering Grandpa Homura for a month before Grandpa Homura give up and finally start to teach him. Though it's still just the basic body building.
Three years after Rai started living with the Homura, Grandma Homura passed away due to old age. Seika wasn't able to stop crying since this is the first time she lost someone close to her. Her parent passed away before she was even 6 month old. While Seika was crying and Rai was trying to comfort her, Rai saw Grandpa Homura a few time and he look like a shell of his former jolly self.
Two weeks after Grandma Homura passed away, Rai was finially was able to make Seika smile again. Then during that night Grandpa Homura came into his room after Seika fell asleep and Rai still awake.

"Rai, we need to talk." Grandpa Homura told him seriously as he walk back out the door. Rai notice the serious tone of Grandpa Homura voice and decide to follow him while being careful not to wake Seika up.
When Rai reach the living room, he saw Grandpa Homura sitting down with a chair across from him. As Rai sat the the chair Grandpa Hormura started to talk.
"Rai, you want to be a spirit master don't you?" Grandpa Homura asked
Rai look at him for a moment trying to think of why he ask that now but couldn't come to an answer so he just answer "Yes."
"Why do you want to be a spirit master" he asks again
"I-I haven't really thought about that. It's just something I want to do for as long as I can remember" Rai reply.
"Well then, think now" Grandpa Homura told him.
'Why do I want to become a spirit master' Rai thought to himself. 'I know that I value freedom, but I feel that is not the whole reason.' Rai then remember his second birthday and with it he have his answer.
"I want to protect the smile and happiness of the people close to me. Without the power to do so, other people will be able to easily take away that happiness." Rai said seriously.
"Protect their smile huh." Grandpa Homura said quietly. Then he look at Rai and said "I'm not a spirit master, but I am a martial artist. So while I can't teach you how to use your skills in the future. I can teach you how to fight."
"Do you accept me as your teacher" Grandpa Homura said again after a while.
"Yes, student greet teacher" Rai says excitedly as he bow.
"Good, then your real training begin tomorrow" Grandpa Homura told him
"Yes. wait, real training? Aren't we training already?" Rai ask. Then Grandpa Homura laugh again for the first time in weeks and told him that before doesn't even count as warm-up and that he just did that to get Rai off his back. He also to Rai to get ready for a world of hurt starting the next day leaving a scare Rai behind.
While they were talking they didn't notice that Seika was awake and spying on them from the around the corner of the room. When she hear Rai saying he wanted to protect them she couldn't stop smiling while thinking about it.

That last year after that have been like hell for Rai. He was only able to get through the training because Seika was there to cheer him on. Also with her just being there remind him of his promise and resolve to move forward.
Seika didn't just support him though. Grandpa Homura also made her train too, even if it's not at the same intensity as his own training. She still happily do it so she can spend more time with Rai and her grandpa.
Right now since both he and Seika are six years old. They decided to pause training for a while to awaken their spirit. That's right pause, not end, but pause. His training was still not done yet. So now he is waiting at the door for Grandpa Homura and Seika to get ready to go to spirit hall.
Rai thought to himself as he wait for Seika and Grandpa Homura 'I should try to get Seika to stop sneaking in to sleep on the same bed as me. It have gotten worse after Grandma Homura passed. I thought that after she cheer up she would stop but after she cheer up, she do it everyday now. Not to mention she get even more clingy than before, sigh' Rai
Rai step outside to wait in the sunlight he thought about how much his physical body change during the training. Where before he seem to be skin and bones with a little baby fat. Now his body is packed with lean muscle. Of course he still have a bit of baby fat let and it doesn't seem like it will go away for another year. Finally there is his hair, it has also been cut short enough that it doesn't cover his eyes anymore leaving his big blue eyes for the world to see.
