5 Chapter 5: SURPRISE and More Surprises

[God here. well, I'm not really a god here. That's just me lying with a strait face to Rai. My real identity is…. drum roll plz… no? No one? Oh well, anyway my real identity is ROB. While it's true that Rai won't be seeing me anymore, though I will be seeing a lot of him hehehe, wonder what he will do in the future. AH I got sidetracked. While it's true that Rai won't be seeing me anymore, you should've known from how I broke the fourth wall last chapter that something like this is going to happen. Oh Rai's show is on. [ROB: WAHAHAHA you would never be able to get rid of me now that I am here. *proceed to run away]

[Author: Dammit I lost him, though he did ask a good question, ok ladies say I in the comment and men says MEN so I can count the male-female ratio. This doesn't impact the story, I'm just curious]

As Rai walk out of his rundown house he keep getting the feeling there is something important going on that he should know.

'Well whatever, if it's really important then I'll figure it out later' Rai thought as he continue on.

[ROB: Hehe, you'll never know] [A/N: There you are. *ROB runs away again* Get back here.]

When he reach the house he knock on the door. He waited, after no one answer, he knock again and repeated it for another two times before running out of patience and opening the door himself. He look into the house, seeing no one there he decide to explore and find where they are. He wouldn't do this in just anyone's house. He knew the old couple since he was born and treated them like his real grandparents.

Just as he made his way into the kitchen

"SURPRISE!!"x3 ???

He stood there stun seeing a cake and food prepare for a small party in the kitchen along with three people. Grandpa Homura, Seika, and lastly Grandma Homura. He stood there stun until Seika come over to him, took his hand and drag him to where the cake is.

Of course Rai know that people don't usually celebrate every birthday in this world and only celebrate the important one, so they must have done this in an effort to cheer him up after his father passed away. Even though he is not as sad about his father anymore since he have awaken his past memory, but he still feel his eyes welled with tears as as smile form on his lip at the sight of the small family trying to cheer him up.

Rai look up at the Homura couple and quietly said "thank you" through the tears.

"Hahaha, what are you thanking us for, you are also part of this family now. We couldn't bear to see you sad anymore. Especially Seika here" said Grandpa Homura in an effort to lighten up the atmosphere.

"HEY!! I wasn't worried" Seika said from his side with a red face. Which cause everyone to laugh.

Seika pouted for a for a second, shout "Ah" with a face like she remember something important, then proceed to continue to drag Rai who just finish wiping his away his tears.

"Come on Rai-kun, we have a cake to eat" Seika declare along the way to the cake. Rai just smile some more at that.

While they were eating the cake, Rai made a promise to himself that he would protect this family's happiness as much as he can.

After eating the cake Rai let Seika drag him around to play like he have promise her, though he don't remember ever promising such a thing. Still he have fun even if it's with a two years old kid. [A/N: HA, he forgot that he is also a 2 years old kid]

As it was getting dark, Rai finally was able to convince Seika to head home but not until after she somehow made him promise to come live with them.

Even after he reach his house he still didn't know how she made him promise. Still he made a promise so have to get his things, which isn't much. All he have is a couple set of clothes that is too big for the current him, a picture of his family when he was just born and colorful weird looking stick that his dad found in the woods before his death.

Just as Rai was going to finish packing 'Wait. That stick seem familiar' Rai thought. He took the stick and notice that it did look familiar, which cause him to be excited.

'I hope I'm right.' "observe" Rai

[A spirit bone picked you by a villager who thought it's a cool looking stick.]

"YAHTZEE! HAHAHAHA" Rai laugh out loud. "I wonder how dad was able to find a spirit bone when they are suppose to be super rare. Doesn't matter now, Dad I promise on this bone that I will use the last gift you unintentionally left me to the best of its ability" Rai promise seriously.

'I should put this away, I don't know what will happen if I use this bone before I unlock my spirit or get a ring. Yeah I should probably get a spirit ring before trying to absorb this.' Rai thought. He then finish packing the small amount of items he have and went ahead to the Homura family house.

When he reach the house he was going to knock on the door again but remember Grandpa Homura saying that they are a family now so he just went ahead and open the door.

When he went the living room he saw Grandma Homura sitting on a chair knitting a sweater for Seika.

"Hello Grandma" Rai greeted her

"Oh Rai, Seika says she will be trying to make you leave your house to stay here. Didn't think she will be able succeed with you being strong willed and all." Grandma Homura said sweetly.

"Well, with all you two done for me the least I can do is stay here and look after Seika for you" Rai reply smiling.

"Hahaha, then why don't you just marry Seika so you can continue to look after her." Said Grandpa Homura who suddenly appear from the kitchen causing Rai face to turn a bit red.

"I-I don't think we should discuss this without Seika, beside we should wait until me and Seika grow up first" Rai reply embarrassingly.

"Haha, you don't... " as Grandpa Homura was trying to continue the talk, Seika suddenly appear and shouted "Rai-kun, you are finally here." then proceed to drag Rai away like she did the whole day before. 'Safe' Rai thought.

Seika took him to a room that look a little more furnish than his previous room. "Grandpa says this will be your room from now on." Seika told him.

Rai look around the room and said "tell Grandpa thank you for everything." He then went to change, forgetting that to check if Seika left or not. He took off his shirt then look toward door and saw Seika still standing there. His face heats up a bit more then before until he saw Seika tilting her head cutely like she was asking him why he was looking at her.

'Right, she is still about 2 years old and haven't learn about male and female yet' Rai suddenly realize. 'It must have been because of Grandpa talk that have cause that I reacted like this. Yes that was it, I'm definitely not a lolicon, even if she is cute and will grow up to be beautiful.' Rai suddenly shook his head 'No definitely not a lolicon, should tell her to leave so I can cool down.' He then realize that he still don't have his shirt on so he quickly put it back on and turn to Seika.

"Seika, shouldn't you go to bed now it's late" Rai said

"But I still play with Rai-kun" Seika said while trying to use the puppy dog eyes. [A/N: It's Super Effective]

Rai looked at her and couldn't say no so he relented and said "Alright, but only for an hour because you still need to go to bed." While thinking 'Damn cute children and their puppy eyes!'

"Yes" Seika reply… the next morning he woke up with Seika clinging on to him and realize that they must have played until they fell asleep. Then Homura couple must couple must have came and put them to sleep together. He quickly got up from the bed and decide to go seek breakfast instead of thinking about this further.
