21 Chapter 21: Mind Game

'What am I going to do now.' Rai think to himself inside his room. 'I hope it's just my misconception. Anyway I'll forget about and absorb the spirit bone.' Rai then got out the spirit bone and think 'observe'.

'Is observe going to keep telling me how why the bone was drop every time I get a spirit bone?' Rai thought with a deadpan face. 'Well, I don't really need this spirit bone, I already have enough speed/agility boost ability and in the future my boost are only going to get better. I think I'll give this one to someone else from Shrek. Maybe I'll give it to Zhuqing, after all she will need it as she mainly focus on speed.' Rai then decided 'Yes, I'll give it to her after Mubai and her get together, don't want to create any misunderstanding before they solve their problem.'

The next morning as everyone was eating, Rai couldn't help but notice Rongrong keep glancing at him once in a while. 'Guess I was right after all.' Rai thought 'But why is she acting shy? I thought she have a lot of confidence in herself.' Rai think back to what he remember about Oscar and Rongrong relationship. 'That's right, Rongrong wasn't the first one to fall in love. It was always Oscar that was chasing her. Is that why she acting like this right now? She doesn't know what to do since this is her first crush?'

After getting to this point Rai thought 'Sh*t what am I suppose to do if Seika notice? Sigh, I wish I was like those dense MC that didn't notice the girls feeling' Rai thought to himself in frustration. 'I'll just leave it alone and hope that it's just a passing fancy.' [A/N: Rai, you shouldn't deny reality like that. Especially when you help a girl at her lowest and call her cute.]

When they finish eating and start to look for a spirit beast, Rai was still thinking of what he should do, not paying attention to where they are going. Until he hear Wuji yell "THERE'S SOMETHING COMING NEAR."

Rai then snap out of his thought just in time to see Zhuqing running into the forest. As he get ready to help, he remember 'Oh, right, this is when Zhuqing start to fall for Mubai too. I'll pretend to help until Mubai save her. Don't want the same thing that happen with Rongrong to happen with her.' Rai stop and pull out his sword.

Rai watch the fight and step in once in a while to make it look like he was helping. He did it until Mubai save Zhuqing and Tang San tie the snake up. Using Godspeed, Rai quickly went toward the and knock it out with the backside of his blade. Seeing that the Phoenix Tail Crest Serpent was knock out everyone relaxes and Wuji told Oscar to kill it and absorb its ring.

As Oscar was going to do it a voice yell "STOP!" at the same time what look like a snake tongue try to kill the snake first. Before the tongue can get close, Rai grab it and throw it back causally. Oscar who didn't need to dodge this time was startle and accidentally stab the head of the snake. As a ring came out of the snake everyone just stare at the dead snake in a moment of awkward silence.

"Well, no use saying anything now since the snake is already dead." Rai said breaking the silence.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN NO USE SAYING ANYTHING! THAT WAS MY SNAKE AND HE KILLED IT!" the girl that attack earlier yell.

"That what I mean, you try to attack him, he got scare and killed it in surprise." Rai calmly answer back.

"Yiran, come back." Say a new voice from behind the girl. As the girl called Yiran retreat, everyone turn to see an elderly lady causing Wuji to be a bit scare. Seeing that everyone else is confused, Mubai explain that the elderly lady is the 'Snake Grandmother' of the legendary 'Dragon and Snake' duo.

"It seem my reputation proceed me." the Snake Grandmother said with smile that send chills down the students back. "How are you going to composite us for the snake that we hunted and injure." the Snake Grandmother continue. Everyone look toward the snake and saw that it indeed have recent injuries that wasn't cause by them.

As everyone was having a hard time trying to figure out what to do, they hear a voice from the side. "Oh, Is the Snake Grandmother trying to extort my students."

Startle everyone look toward the source of the voice, they saw a strong looking elderly man walking toward them with 9 rings behind him and a striking red ring right in the middle. Everyone was surprise especially Seika as the man that just appear look just like her grandpa.

The Snake Grandmother is a bit scare now since Meng Shu, the Dragon Duke wasn't with her and this man have a one hundred thousand years old ring. "Forgive my rudeness esteem douluo, I didn't know they were your student." The Snake Grandmother said politely trying to 'calm' the title douluo down.

"Hmph" the title douluo snorted, "Just make sure it doesn't happen again." He said as he release a bit more pressure.

"Of course" the Snake Grandmother answer respectfully.

The title douluo strongly suggested "You may leave." The Snake Grandmother to quickly grab Meng Yiran, bow and left in a hurry. While this is going on, no one notice that Rai was gone.

As the two disappear Seika suddenly ask "Grandpa?" making everyone turn toward Seika.

The title douluo says, "Sorry Seika, it's just me." in a familiar voice. Then the figure start to warp and disappear only for an exhausted Rai to appear where he was.

"RAI?!" everyone yelled at the same time as they run toward him.

"You're a title douluo" Fatty asked. Then he got smack in the back of the head by Mubai as he said "Are you an idiot, Rai have an illusion skill, I just didn't think it was that good."

"oh right" Fatty said laughing embarrassingly

"Yeah yeah, I was using Mind Game." Rai said waving them away. "Man it took a lot out of me trying to impersonate a title douluo in front of a Spirit Sage. A little longer and I would have ran out of energy." Rai said, he sat on the ground as he was low on energy.

"Oscar, you should absorb the ring before it disappear." Rai said making everyone to snap their shock.

"Right" Oscar said as he hurried to the snake and start absorbing the ring.

After a while, "Damn it" Rai said, he look at Oscar absorbing the ring. "should have told him to give me some tofu first." Rai finish causing everyone to laugh a little as they wait for Oscar to finish absorbing the ring.

[A/N: In case you are wondering why Rai is exhausted after using Mind Game on a spirit sage when he did it to Flender before, I would like to say that before Rai was just testing the skill on small things. What Rai just did was impersonating the aura and rings of a title douluo, which is a lot harder.]
