20 Chapter 20: New Spirit Ring

The next day, Rai found everyone in the field. He talk to everyone about what happen yesterday before Rongrong show up. When Rongrong show up and apologize like Rai said, everyone said they forgive her but everyone beside Rai still subconsciously treat her as an outsider.

After waiting for a while Flender join the class and told them that today they will have a test. The test is to eat Oscar's smelly tofu. Rongrong wanting to prove herself volunteer to eat the tofu first. Rai follow after her because he already try them before. Beside from the bad smell they are quite good. After Flender tried them, he notice that they improve and ask Oscar if he rank up.

"Hehe, I manage to rank up this morning" Oscar happily say while scratching the back of his head.

"A support class spirit master usually have a harder time ranking up then combat class spirit master." Flender said. He turn toward Oscar and continue "Oscar you are a genius for having reach rank 30 at 14 years old." Shocking Rongrong a bit as everyone gather around Oscar to congratulate him.

"Eh?" Seika said as she remember something "what about Rai then, isn't he already rank 40?" Everyone turn toward her in confusion. They thought that since Rai was a senior here, then it shouldn't be weird for him to reach rank 40 until Seika said "Rai is the same age as me, 12 years old." making everyone eyes bulge out as they turn toward Rai.

"Haha" All Rai can do was laugh awkwardly at the attention they are giving him until Flender said "he doesn't count, if you count him then every genius will look like average." as Flender glare at Rai.

Flender gather everyone's attention again and tell them "Everyone got a day off today, go packed you bags, tomorrow we will go to Star Dou Forest to get Oscar and Rai a ring." After Flender left, everyone suddenly start bombarding Rai with question of how he got so strong so quickly.

The day after that everyone headed out for Star Dou Forest. As they are going there, Flender explain about the danger of the forest and ask Rai to lead since he is the strongest.

Rai decline and give the position to Tang San saying the Tang San will be able to lead better since Rai only know how to fight well so he wouldn't make a good leader

Everyone did ask why Rai choose Tang San and Rai told them "Tang San is a control system spirit master. To be a control system one need to be a competent strategist, also Seika told me that Tang San is like an encyclopedia of spirit beast." everyone agree to that making Tang San a bit embarrassed.

When they reach the edge of the forest Rai thought about how it was the fight at the bar that truly make the Shrek accept Rongrong and that if he is there, then there won't be a chance for her to help.

When they reach the edge of the forest, Rai thought about the fight that will happen in the inn. It was that fight that led to Shrek truly accept Rongrong into the group. 'I should leave so Rongrong will have a chance to prove herself.' Rai thought.

"Tang San, since I am the fastest person in the group and not many thing will be able to catch me, I'll scout for a safe hunting area while you guys get a room for us." Rai said trying to convince their temporary leader.

Tang San think about it for a bit before saying "Ok, make sure to be back by dusk."

"You got it dad." Rai said making fun of Tang San before running away causing everyone to laugh.

As Rai run around the forest killing time and looking for suitable rings he become bored quickly now that he got used to hanging around many people. 'Should have brought Seika with me' Rai thought as he continue using observe on the spirit beast he passed.

After searching for a couple hours, Rai was finally able to find creature that interested him as he think 'observe'

[So call phantom because no one at similar rank is able to keep up with its speed, leaving them to only see a blur.]

'Increase speed by 100% even before it reach 10,000 years old?' Rai though 'Damn, no wonder people on the same rank can't see it. If I get that ring, I might be able to double the speed of Godspeed, then my body might be able to keep up with my reaction when I open the third eye.' Rai then look at the cheetah like a piece of tasty meat.

Rai takes out his blade and get ready for battle. As always, Rai sneak up to the spirit beast hoping to get the first strike to make the battle easier. 'I should activate both Godspeed and Third Eye right when I strike. After all it's suppose to be so fast that not even spirit master of similar rank will be able to keep up.' Rai thought as he makes his way closer.

After reaching a suitable distance for a charge, Rai stop and ready his blade. 'Alright, if it notice when I charge, aim for its leg, if it doesn't, aim to kill.' he thought. When Rai was ready, he rush forward while activating Third Eye, Godspeed and Lightning Blade in quick secession. The Phantom Cheetah didn't notice him immediately which give Rai the chance to go right for it's head from behind killing it instantly.

Rai watch as a ring come out of the Phantom Cheetah, he sigh in relief that he didn't have to do a speed battle with the cheetah. As Rai was going to take the ring, he that the beast also drop a bone.

Excited, Rai pick up the bone but forces himself to comedown as he still need to absorb the ring. Rai then takes the ring, check for any danger around, then took the ring to a place he deem safe enough and start to absorb the ring.

Having absorb a 10,000 years ring before, Rai was able to easily absorb this ring quickly. He then got up and check his surrounding. Not finding anything, Rai decide to make his was back to the inn as it was getting dark.

Just as Rai reach the inn, he saw a turtle man got send flying into the distance. 'That must be the guy that picked a fight with Shrek and got sent flying by Wuji' Rai thought as he open the door to the inn. Hearing someone come in right after a fight, everyone look toward the door to check who it is.

Seeing that everyone is looking at him Rai ask "What I missed?" like he didn't just see a turtle guy flying.

Seika started to excitedly explain what happen and when she gets to the part where Rongrong step in to help, Rai turn to Rongrong and give her a smile. As Rai turn back to Seika, he didn't notice that Rongrong was blushing a bit.

When Seika finish explaining Wuji told everyone to go to sleep. As Rai was going to go to his room, he feel someone pull his cloth from behind. Looking behind him Rai see Rongrong.

"Thank you" Rongrong said to him.

"You're welcome, you can come to me anytime you need help." Rai reply with a smile. Rongrong saw the smile and blush a bit before "goodnight" and running away. This time Rai did see her blush and all he can think of was 'Sh*t!' as he watch her run away.
