13 Chapter 13: I Want to do Illusion Too

It been about 4 month since Rai absorb the defense spirit ring. Rai took his time on the outskirt of the Jialing Pass in order to train against spirit beast some more. Otherwise he would have made it to the city. As he makes his was to Suotuo City he suddenly stop and think 'Wait what do I do about the color of my spirit ring?'

Rai then turn back and walk toward Jialing Pass again while thinking 'I need an illusion skill like the one those MC in the fanfic I read have or one like Huo Yuhao. Hmmm, that mean I need to search for a mental type spirit beast and hope its ring is compatible with one of my spirit.'

Rai spends another 6 months on the outskirt of Jialing Pass trying to look for a ring that he can use. While there he did find some spirit beast that have illusion skills but none of them fit the requirement he have or isn't compatible with his spirits. He did find one that was compatible with his Battle Suit but since he ran out of slots for the Battle Suit, he have to give it up and mark its location for when he reach rank 40 or find a better spirit beast.

'I'll stay here for another month, if I still can't find one then I will have to head to Suotuo City, after all I have to make money for my entrance into Shrek Academy.' Rai thought as he wonder around the Pass some more. 'If I can't find one then I'll have to use only one of my purple spirit ring until rank 40. After all it won't be weird for someone with rank 30+ spirit elder to have a purple ring... Maybe I should head deeper into the Pass'

Rai the continue to survey the area for a for a few more minute until he give up and start heading deeper into the Pass. As he walk he use his observe skill on every beast he comes across. He saw some interesting and unique spirit rings but they are not what he need.

Soon another day pass and he was going to give up but he suddenly saw a lion with three eye.

'Golden Lion? The one that give Huo Yuhao that stupidly OP skill?' Rai thought. 'And this one will give me an illusion type skill that is compatible with the Raiju. I am definitely getting that ring.'

Like usual, Rai takes out his blade and slowly makes his way toward the lion. 'It's a 10,000 years old spirit beast so if I am not careful I could lose my life.' Rai thought as he continue on. 'All the more important to it is for me to get first blood'

When Rai was ready for a charge strike he summon both his spirit and rush at the lion. As he did this the Three-Eyed Lion felt it and look strait at Rai, but it seem to be too late as Rai stab right into the third eye on it's forehead. It then drop down and Rai sigh in relief only to tense up again right afterward and roll to the side.

Rai look back to the spot he was at and saw the Three-Eyed Lion standing there with it's claw smash into the spot where he was standing. Rai took a glance back toward the corpse on the ground to see it slowly disappearing. 'Sh*t' Rai thought 'Should have know it would be able to use illusion when it'll drop an illusion type ring. I would have been dead if it wasn't for my experience I got from fighting almost everyday for 2 years.'

Rai look back at the lion as he try to use his lightning energy to block anymore attempt at the lion messing with his mind. It seem to have works, either that or there is a condition for the lion to activate its skills. This time when the lion rush to attack Rai, he feel danger coming from where the lion is.

Rai the dodge to the side and use his speed boost to try and get an upper hand on the lion but it seem that even with his speed boost on the lion is able to keep up with him. After going a few round back and fourth Rai thought 'This isn't going to work, usually I fight using speed to my advantage but with the lion being as fast as me even when I use my boost, I can't beat it like this.'

Rai then broke out of his thought as he look straight at the lion catching its eyes. The lion comes at him for another swipe from the front. As Rai as going to clash with the lion using his strength boost, he felt a danger from the side and suddenly turn to use his blade to block. The lion on his front disappear and another one appear on his side that send him flying into a rock.

'Dammit' Rai thought in pain. "At least now I know not to look at it's eyes. I still need something to give me an edge against this guy. Come on Rai think" Rai says as he stand up and get ready for another clash. 'I been using speed to fight so either I come up with a way to get more speed or find a different way to win this. For now speed, what can I do for more speed.' Rai thought. Then he suddenly want to hit himself on the head with think 'Of course , why didn't I think of this sooner, I have control over lightning. I can use that to speed me up.'

Rai the hold his blade in front of him while gathering lightning in his body. 'Good thing I study biology in my last life or I wouldn't know where to start with this.' Rai thought as he send lightning through his body. "There" Rai said as he dash forward only to run pass the lion and into another rock.

'Ouch.' Rai thought. 'Should've know I won't be able to see with how fast I am going. Lets try doing it in burst.' Rai then got ready again and look toward the lion again to see that the lion was looking at him like his is an idiot.

"What are you looking at me like that for!" Rai yell at he lion

"ROARRR" the lion send a loud roar back at Rai. He feel like the lion was trying to insult him with that roar.

"That's it. You are going down" Rai said with a tick mark on his forehead. Then he send a burst of lightning through his body and dash toward the lion. This time he landed right next to the lion and send a slash right at the lion third eye. Surprised, the lion didn't have time to fully dodge the sword and have it's third eye cut.

"HA! Who's laughing now." Rai taunt the lion as he quickly jump back. "You like that, I called it Lightning Step."

"ROAARR" this time the lion roar at Rai angrily and rush toward him at it's max speed.

"Oh sh*t" Rai said as he quickly roll to the side. Then Rai turn around again and use Lightning Step, this time he was also using his spirit skill: Lighting Blade along with it and aim straight for its neck. After Lightning Step end, Rai can see his blade's hilt sticking out of the lion neck and the tip of the blade as sticking out the other side.

Rai quickly pulls his sword and jump back. Looking wearily at the lion only to see that the lion have drop to the ground with a spirit ring coming out of it. Seeing the ring, Rai relax knowing that the lion is finally dead. He then sat down on the ground tried and rested for a few second.

Finally getting a bit of energy back, Rai makes his was toward the ring and start absorbing it into his Raiju spirit. Either due to his Raiju spirit or the manual he was practicing or a combination of both, he didn't have a hard time absorbing the ring and was done after a few minute.

As Rai stand up he look toward the Three-Eye Lion and saw...

[Relief ROB: I'm alive? YAHOOO!!]

[Author: What?! Why didn't it works? *Look down at his hand* "Oh this is my flashlight" *put flashlight away* Now taste the power of the ULTIMATE NULIFFIER.]
