1 Chapter 1: Gender identity Crisis

"Ughhh," A childish roar resounded throughout the house; a small child no more than six years old lay on a bed. Small for his age, which made the child look even younger, his Light green hair unkempt, wet with sweat as his face contorted, his sickly pale skin illuminated under the moonlight displayed a pitiful sight. Shortly after that roar, footsteps could be heard scurrying as they thumped on the wooden floor; the door flung open, "Xin Er!" 

A young man entered with Long poison green hair, clean-shaven with Golden eyes. Standing over the child, who was almost a carbon copy of him, the man's eyes soften, yet a trace of panic can still be seen. In the future, this man would become a prestigious Titled Douluo, his Title "Poison." However, he is nothing more than a young Rank 71 Spirit Saint right now. 

Dugu Bo reached down and placed his hand on his son's forehead. From his hand, an energy that illuminated the room radiated, and as the energy flowed, his son's pale expression, which was twisted in pain, started to soften. Looking at his son Dugu Bo's face became complicated as he withdrew his hand, "I have to move faster!" he said while looking down at his son again. He fixed the boy's hair and covered him with a blanket before walking towards the door. At the threshold, he looked back again before tears fell. Wiping them, his expression hardened as he closed the door.

On the bed, the Dugu Xin that Dugu Bo once knew combined with a foreign soul, the two become one, causing the poison in Dugu Xin's body to recede slightly as his Spirit power increased to the Rank 10 limit. "Amid my gender identity crisis, this situation doesn't really help." Sara now Dugu Xin says as he raises his tiny hands, inspecting them before sighing heavily. 'From the Marine Corps to becoming a professor, this has to be the most ridiculous thing that has ever happened to me. I always thought the Poison Douluo had a very unfortunate past, but now I am the very source of that.' Dugo Bo's Spirit is the Jade Phosphor Serpent Emperor, a spirit that every family member has had and died due to their inability to overcome the poison; now his son Dugu Xin has inherited that same Spirit. 

'In the Manhua, Dugu Xin lives till 35 but that's all that is stated about him; he is shoved under the rug and deemed unimportant. Which in my past life was the story of my life; being a Queer Black woman in positions of power infuriated people. I was always the second fiddle, even my parents didn't help me, but in this world, I have a Father willing to sacrifice his Cultivation, the very thing that gives people status in this world to keep me alive.' Xin then sat up, trying to familiarize himself with his new body and environment.

The memories of his six short years on the Douluo Continent rushed in all at once. Pain similar to the poison within him assaulted his body as the images passed by like a movie. ' So it's not the exact same world as the original Light Novel, Donghua, or even the Manhua, but something similar. This Continent isn't the only one on the planet, but the only one Humans are able to visit due to the powerful spirit beasts within the oceans. The Extent of the size of the planet, and the powers on this planet are still unknown, however, the power structures on this specific continent are still the same. I guess this is the Alternate timeline theory in full effect.'

Looking around his room, there was nothing but books; due to the fact he was too sickly to go outside, the former Xin turned to reading. His Father, being a powerful man, searched far and wide to provide books for his son because those books might be a clue on how to cure the poison in their bodies. With great effort, Xin got out of bed and walked to the many bookshelves in his room; each section was labeled with great accuracy. Most of them contained knowledge of the different plants along with their medicinal effects. Still, some were on cultivation, Spirits, Spirit Beasts, and other common knowledge that Spirit Masters should know.

Arriving in front of a book on how to Cultivate, Xin picked up the book. As soon as his hand touched it, a screen appeared in his mind, and the book's contents were immediately transferred to his mind. From there, this strange phenomenon pointed out what was wrong with the so-called 'Dugu Clan Cultivation Method'. 

'Holy Fuck.' Xin looked through the information, [The Jade Phosphor Serpent Emperor and their descendants despise the weak. As descendants of Divine beasts, they are unable to bring out their full power until Rank 99 and above. Their Poison is so potent that only something of similar rank can negate it. There are 3 Methods to remove the curse: 1) Become a God, 2) Modify the DNA of the Dugu Clan members to create a constitution immune to the poison. 3) Bond with a 100,000-year-old Poison Spirit Beast or absorb it's Spirit Ring.]

Xin felt his body heating up as his heart rate quickened; this was strange, not nearly as wild as waking up after death, but still outside the realm that an average human from Earth could understand. Using his right hand, he then touched his chest, and the same thing happened as when he touched the books. 

[Dugu Xin, Age: 6, Spirit: Jade Phosphor Serpent, Cultivation Rank: 10. The only child of Dugu Bo, a man that loves his child more than Life itself, due to the curse of his Spirit, Xin is to die at age 27. To save his life, Xin must: 1) Become a God 2) Modify the DNA of the Dugu Clan members to create a constitution that is immune to the poison. 3) Bond with a 100,000-year-old Poison Spirit Beast or absorb its Spirit Ring. The Probability of doing the first and second options is nil; this world doesn't have the technological capacity to do number 2 and number 1…..Lol….not possible in 27 years.]

A Smile that was wider than the Grand Canyon appeared on Xin's face as he read the information provided, 'If I remember correctly, Normally absorbing a Ring over 423 Years old for your first ring is impossible as the Spirit Master in question will suffer backlash from the far more powerful spirit. However, if a Spirit Douluo or Titled Douluo assists in the assimilation, there will be no issues. Finally, if the Spirit Beast of 100,000 years or above is willing to become a Spirit Soul of the Spirit Master, they can generate up to 7 Spirit rings according to the current optimal setup of Spirit rings.'

Standing there with his broad smile in the darkness, Dugu Xin devised a plan that would change the world, 'In one of the Manhua, a Spirit beast used Huo Yuhao to create a God rather than becoming a God through one accepting you as their successor. This world is different from my last one. Here, power creates and destroys. When reading the Story, I always thought if Poison never had to deal with such a thing, he would be unrivaled. He was a first-class genius who achieved rank 65 at 37! Tomorrow is the Spirit Awakening Ceremony, and tomorrow, I can begin my path of cultivation. Now that I am Dugu Xin, I will ensure my Father can show the world his full potential without worrying about me. To do what I am going to do requires a backer with absolute power, the power that Lord Poison Douluo will have.'

Looking at the bookshelf, Xin went to each book; using this strange power, he had all the knowledge from every book within his room imprinted in his head like he just downloaded it onto a hard drive. As long as he thought about it, he would not only have access to the information but comprehend it, as well as if he learned the topic from a teacher. 

'Ancient Chinese-based society with spirit power and other differences from the Mundane Earth I know. Therefore, I can assume that, like before, this is a patriarchal society with disgusting practices that only a few extremely conservative from my past world could accept. So I'll make it my goal to make things better every step of the way.' Deep in thought, Xin returns to his bed, 'My lack of Cultural knowledge can be attributed to my young age, so I don't have anything to worry about tomorrow besides my weak body. So let's take things one step at a time.'

The next day Xin woke up earlier than usual and made his way toward his father's courtyard, where they would have a meal together. The Dugu Clan Residence was an enormous compound with many different courtyards, pavilions, and other structures located in the Eastern Kingdom of Poizunsutā, which shared a border with the Star Luo Empire. It is the Smallest and weakest Subsidiary nation under the Heaven Dou Empire. The Dugu Clan was one of the few remaining founding families of the Nation, yet its decline was evident as it was down to only two masters. Their original Ducial Family was demoted to a mere Count, but Dugu Bo's power propped up the entire family.

Arriving in the dining room, his father was already present, "Good Morning, Father," Xin says as he takes his seat. Dugu Bo smiled at his son, "Today is your awakening Ceremony; as long as you have Soul Power, we can extend your life and find a cure. After that, we will sit down together, and you will decide what path you want to take, and I will offer guidance.

Xin just smiled and nodded as he ate his breakfast quietly. He could see his father's visible anxiety over the ceremony and didn't know how to alleviate it, so he just stayed quiet. After breakfast, the two of them entered the ancestral hall. Paintings of all the Dugu clan heads were hung along the walls, at the center was an altar with a crystal ball on the top, clearly designed for children to use due to the height. 

"Go stand in front of the Altar," Dugu Bo said as he walked opposite Xin to the other side of the altar. "Close your eyes and focus within yourself, feel the connection between you and your spirit," Bo said as he placed his hand on top of his son's head and channeled his spiritual power to awaken his son's Spirit.

Xin did as he was told. Closing his eyes, he was met with a pair of Golden eyes. Cold, detached eyes of an Apex Predator; however, these eyes looked warm and friendly to Xin. Despite the curse's power, the connection between Spirit Master and Spirit is more solid than that of Parent and child. The Jade Phosphor Serpent presented itself to the world as Dugu Bo looked on with awe.

'This isn't a normal Jade Phosphor Serpent, but it isn't the Jade Phosphor Serpent Emperor. The Scales are lighter and contain Ice energy and poison, a new mutation.' Dugu Bo remained stoic externally, but internally, his heart was about to beat out of his chest as he looked at the Serpent, "Good, now place your hand on the crystal ball in front of you."

Xin nodded his head and raised his right hand; as his hand got close, the crystal ball generated a great attraction force. Once his hand touched the ball, it illuminated the entire ancestral hall.

Dugu Bo looked on in awe, "Innate Full Spirit Power! Soon, we will have to set out for your first Spirit Ring, but congratulations, Son, you can become a Spirit Master."

Words couldn't describe how excited Dugu Bo was in his heart, "Innate Full Spirit Power is said only to happen once every 100 years. Your future cultivation will be much faster than your peers! Also, your Spirit Beast isn't like the others in our Family history. It seems to be of not only poison but Ice as well!" Dugu Bo looked at his son. The passion and excitement in his eyes made Xin excited as well. He read about this phenomenon in the manhua, but experiencing it firsthand was completely different.
