Chapter 2: My name

A young child awoke to a world of pleasant water, his mind hazy. As he shake in panic and desperation, he realized he was breathing just fine. He wondered in bewilderment "I'm fine?"

It was apparent that whoever this child was, his was suffering from amnesia or some type of memory lapse.

"Where am i? What am i?" Questions like these exploded inside his mind as he turns his head around to scope the area.

There, to the right of him, just out of his peripheral field he saw a man no, spirit connected to him by a chain through both their chest.

Locking eyes, the spirit lets out a sign esperated sign "4 years huh" he mumbled in disbelief. The child notices the spirit becoming more transparent as each second passes.

The child opened his mouth to question the spirit but out of fear, he couldn't speak a word. The spirit raises his right hand up momentarily for attention " I know you have many questions but it seems im running out of time so just stay silent and listen to this dying man request" he said with a solemn voice

The child nodded, for reasons unknown he knew that was the right response. The spirit seeing the confirmation continued " live well!" he gave out his command, in a voice which screamed of power. He points at the child, imagine which was slowly turning transparent turned solid though his will alone.

" Your name shall be Koto Aseir Micha-el" The man nodded in approval " Koto in respect to me for I am who you are" this confused the child," Aseir in how you came to be" The child now named Koto had a small thought, perhaps i am the reincarnation of this man? "and Micha-el for being The one closest to becoming the true god"

The man reaches out his palm to the child's head " you are the inheritor of the title Campione, of conquest, supremacy, and victory. You are a Demi-God, one above humans yet you must still be wary of people" his voice fading yet still firm, it could be said it cried of hopes and dreams, ones to pass down to, "but try and form relationships, make friends, have fun, live your life to the fullest" The voice now contained a hint of sadness yet still full of hope as he lets go of the child's head and turned to face the ever blue sky of water.

" my time has run out,the questions you have, go seek out the answers yourself, soon you will be free" His image quickly vanishes along with the chain yet his last words still sounded out loud and clear " live well Koto!"

In the outskirts of Nuoding City's forest, a thin middle aged man with short white hair surveyed the area with wondered " Why is it so quiet?" as he shoves what seems to be blue herbs into a bag.

This man's name is Yu Xiagang, formally known as the Grandmaster, in accounting to being acknowledged as the beast spirit theorist and perhaps the one who knows best about the different spirits around the world. Or maybe because for the last 2 decades, he has been stuck in the realms of Grandmaster.

You see, in this world, there a esist a vocation named Spirit Masters, the most noble vocation to many. Everyone is born with a spirit essence, which can take the form of anything, be it a tool, or perhaps a form of a beast. Awakening these spirits at the age of 6, people can determine if they have the chance of becoming a spirit master by testing the level of spiritual essence they have. It takes only 1 to be able to become a spirit master although having the bare minimum means it would be extremely hard or impossible for you to advance further into the ranks.

Of the rare few who awakens with spiritual essence, most are born with a 3 or 4, the talented ones 6 or 8, and the genius 9. In an extremely rare chance, one can have innate full spirit power, which means they are the lucky ones born with a level of 10, born to be monsters, those who far surpass others.

Spirit Masters are divided into 10 dans,

Spirit Scholar, spirit Master, Spirit Grandmaster,Spirit Elder,Spirit Ancestor,Spirit King,Spirit Emperor,Spirit Sage(Saint), Spirit Douluo, Title Douluo.

Anyone who awaken with a level of spirit essence being a scholar, and each 10 becoming a major breakthrough.

The grandmaster decided to vacate the forest as he felt it was dangerous. The forest was far too silent for his sense of peace, as he turned in motion to leave, he notices a child walking towards him.

The child shared the color of hair he had, yet it was longer, His icy blue eyes and exotic pupil stared into Xiaogang's eye. The eyes which screamed of indifference seemed to somehow be full of life, one of hope and eagerness.

Dressed in a white robe with purple trimmings tied by a purple cloth, the kid tall for what his face gives away for age, 4. His eyebrows dark, just the right size and straight. His looks gave a royal image yet the first thing cruising down Xiogangs throat was the word "monster!"

You see, monsters at a certain point of their power are given a choice by the heavens, to continue as they are or reincarnate as a human with the road to godhood! Or at least that's what Xiogang has come to acknowledge.

The forest's silence, the child's sudden appearance, the Grandmaster put 1 and 1 together for his conclusion, The child in front of him must be a spirit beast whom reincarnated.

This put him in a dilemma, he knew from the lores he has read, when a beast reincarnate, they truly become like a human, so the child was as weak as a human child would be, however! The child just came out from the forest!

To be safe, without any marks on him, he must have high powered beast aiding him, ones he cant help to defeat, at least not without them…

"Why are you afraid of me?" The boy gentle voice sounded out. He was saddened the first person he met, after the spirit, was looking at him in such a fright. The spirit had left him a ring, which had an inventory like function containing many clothing and items for him to use. After putting some clothing on, he decided to head for civilization as suggested by the spirit.

Not knowing where to go, he just went straight in hopes of getting out the forest soon. When he did finally got out the first, his first sight was a man staring him in fright, making him a little sad. I wouldn't ever want to hurt anyone he thought to himself in pity.

Yu Xiogang could hear a woman's voice in his had screaming to him " how dare you hurt this child!" with fingers pointing at him in anger. The child's sad puppy eyes would make anyone sorry for anything. He didn't know how to react to this.

First of all, he was the one who got scared. He was the one who almost had a heart attack! And he was the one who was… confused now. Is this boy not a reincarnated beast? He thought to himself. It didn't make sense! How else was this boy unscathed?

Deciding to test the waters he got a little closer, the boy did nothing. Walking even closer he asked the boy " where are you parents kid?" in his most pleasant voice.He decided to give the kid a benefit of the doubt, The kids voice affected more than it should have.

It was awkward for Koto, there stood in front of him just a few feet away from him, his facial expression changing from fear to peasantry was too fast for him to believe anything.

"I don't have any parents" Koto said a little sad, he knew normal kids had parents somehow. Suddenly remembering the spirits advice of forming relationships he shouted in excitement " why don't you be my parent?" with a pleased smile, knowing it was a solution to his little problem.

Proud of himself, Koto grinned, completely ignoring the spirits other advice, " My name is Koto Aseir Micha-el, a demi-god!" he ignore all privacy as he continued on " I am above all humans-oh" he felt bad for his soon to be parent, he wanted his father to be above others too. Without giving Xio a chance to speak, he gives out a thumbs up in support " i'm sure because you're my father you're a demi-god too! So we both are above others!" he nodded in joy, giggling.

"A demi-god?" Xio was now extremely intrigued,he was now sure this child in front of him was not a normal human, it made sense to him. However, the term demi-god most certainly threw him off. " That's not how it works kid" completely popping Koto's bubble, who responded with a tilted head.

"I'm not a demi-god, i will not become your father, and what even is a demi-god?" he questioned, this new potential discovering excited his research heart. He wanted to know more.

His words however popped many of Koto's happy bubbles. Avoiding Xio question with his own " Why not?" he whined. He was frowning again, clearly not happy with the situation. 'Why couldn't he just accept me, it's perfectly fine the way I said it', he thought.

Not wanting to let this child go, who knows what chaos will bring if the term demi-god meant what he think it was meant. And most certainly he did not want spirit hall to get their hand on him. A child was nevertheless a child, he didn't want to chance the possibility of experimentation on this cute kid in front of him.

He however couldn't just make any random child his adopted kid, although he can…"why dont you become my student? I reside in Nuoding Academy, you can share my house and learn from me, how about that?"

"Teacher?" Eyes wide, Koto compromised in glee " ok! You're my teacher now!" he said with hands in the air. " hey! What's your name teach? Can I call you teach?" he asked in joy of his new teacher.

Xio had many more questions, but he decided to take it to his house, they have been out here long enough " hmm, follow me koto, ill answer your questions as we walk" turning around with his hands out for Koto to grab, he couldn't help but already form emotional attachment to this pure child.

Koto happily grabbed the hand with both arms and asked in a hurry " say, what's your name?" with a big goofy smile, his icy eyes bright enough to shine a light in dark places.

He couldn't help but chuckle, this so called "demi-god" was a light to this world " my name is Yu Xiogang, but you can call my teach or teacher, or however you like," he said while walking back with koto in hand. 'I have many questions but first I must teach this child to not trust others so much, this purity of his can get him into unwanted trouble' he smiled to the sky 'but it seems I won't be lonely anymore..
