Chapter 9: Three Years

Three years later. Red Mountain Academy.

Wan Yunchao twisted his chubby body, moving closer to Tang Wulin's side and whispered, "Wulin, I heard that Zhou Shao Long broke through rank 10, and he's going to buy a spirit soul tonight. How about you? Didn't you tell me last time that you're already at rank 9? We're about to graduate. If you're not rank 10 by the time we graduate, you'll have to go home and cultivate without the academy's recommendation letter. It'll be very troublesome to enter an intermediate academy later."

Xiao Ran was lazily laying his head on his desk heard the discussion between the two boys infront of him.

"Hey Wan Yunchao don't give unnecessary pressure to Wulin and besides I doubt Zhou Shao Long could beat Wulin's monstrous strength even if he had a spirit soul."

Three years had gone by, and with it came big changes for Xiao Ran.

Xiao Ran having a slim body with pale skin while having a soft and wavy hair, His face had grown exceedingly handsome, especially his starry clear black eyes that reflected light like mirrors. Although Xiao Ran portrait a cold image in front of everyone, he was very popular within Red Mountain Academy as he was being held a genius by every teacher although most of the time he was always asleep in class yet sadly His height didn't grow that much and having the smallest height in class.

Wan Yunchao was the fatty that Tang Wulin had encountered in their first year. He had originally looked down upon Tang Wulin, but he had the tables turned on him one day when he tried bullying Tang Wulin, and was instead pushed onto the floor by Tang Wulin and beaten senseless. He had been well-behaved ever since that beating.

"I should be nearly there. I think I've hit the bottleneck," Tang Wulin said with a smile.

"See Tang Wulin would also go to Intermediate Academy and besides didn't the teacher said that Tang Wulin is a genius in meditation. "

Xiao Ran spoke lazily while slowly falling asleep which made Tang Wulin sighed helplessly as he couldn't figure out why his friend became lazy after obtaining his second spirit soul.

Xiao Ran had accidentally entered the realm of Spirit Grandmaster a year ago and they would have never known if not for that accident.

"Good luck, good luck. Who can say for certain if we'll enter the same intermediate academy after graduating." Wan Yunchao laughed. "Don't say that big brother bullied you. Once you have your own spirit soul, we'll have another spar. When the time comes, we'll see who beats up who."

Tang Wulin shot him a glance as he put on his schoolbag. "You can slowly dream on." He slowly stood up and walk close to Xiao Ran and began waking him up yet it didn't work.

Tang Wulin knew that there is only one thing that could wake his friend up so he stood outside the gates and waited.

Not too long after, a smear of radiant silver hair wandered over from the composite academy building.

"Na'er, slow down. You're going to trip." Tang Wulin's voice was brimming with love as he doted on her.

Na'er had a head of short silver hair, and even after three years, she hadn't changed too much. She was just a bit taller than before while remaining just as adorably pretty. It was just that, no matter how you looked at it, Tang Wulin and Na'er didn't look like they only had a one year age difference between the two of them. She was just a loli who hadn't grown too much.

"Big brother where is brother Ran?"

Na'er asked while she held onto Tang Wulin's hand.

"Well he is currently asleep in our class so can you do us a favor and wake him up so we can go home."

Tang Wulin spoke helplessly as he knew that Na'er was the only one that could wake up Xiao Ran.

"Again? well okay then."

Tang Wulin held Na'er as they began to enter his classroom as the dismissed students left, none of them were surprised by the sight of these two siblings and didn't mention that Na'er couldn't enter the class for Soul Master as everyone knows that a Hidden Devil will surely wreck a havoc in their academy.

They enter the class was empty besides a young boy who was fast asleep in his chair.

Looking at this situation Na'er couldn't help but giggle and walk in front of the boy and reached out her hand.

Xiao Ran slowly woke up and found Na'er in front of him while playing with his soft hair.

"Hmm Na'er? why are you here? aren't you supposed not to be here?"

Xiao Ran sits properly and stretch a bit before asking.

"Who would even dare to stop or hurt Na'er after that accident."

Tang Wulin side comment while remembering that accident which made the latter awkwardly laugh.

In the second year that Na'er stayed with the Tang family, she had attended the Awakening Ceremony and brought about a marvel. This marvel wasn't that her martial soul was exceedingly powerful. Instead, she didn't possess any martial soul at all. This was something that was rarely seen throughout the history of the continent.

Naturally she could only enter the ordinary section of the academy to study without a martial soul.

Na'er grew to become very pretty, making all of the other girls jealous while arousing the curiosity of all of the boys. Due to this, Tang Wulin never had a shortage of fights. One time, a group of male students stopped him, and since he was unable to beat them all by himself Xiao Ran had to take an action and All male students was beaten to the point they need a medical absent the next day yet Xiao Ran never used his Spirit Rings but only used a wooden sword like katana to defeat them all without taking a single scratch in his clothes.

Xiao Ran was famous after that fight, while some teacher had scolded Xiao Ran for his actions yet Xiao Ran made a ruckus while showing his two spirit rings that who ever hurt Na'er once more would have a tragic ending at that moment everyone knows that Xiao Ran had entered the realm of Spirit Grandmaster. Since then no one in the Red Mountain Academy dared to bully Na'er again.

Since they we're eight years old, Tang Wulin had acted like a young man. He shouldered the responsibility of picking up and dropping off his younger sister. While Xiao Ran kept coming along everyday to play with Na'er and unknowingly have a closer relationship which makes Tang Wulin sometimes jealous and envy of Xiao Ran yet Tang Wulin never complained being a blacksmith.

As time pass by Tang Wulin noticed that Xiao Ran spoils Na'er so much that Tang Wulin began to wonder how his friend had so many money.

Tang Ziran and Lang Yue was curious about Xiao Ran Family as he always stays quite late with them yet he told them that he was an orphan that made Lang Yue and Tang Ziran got quiet before apologizing.

Xiao Ran didn't mind and told them that Tang Wulin and Na'er doesn't need to know. Which makes the two tear up a bit before agreeing and since then Lang Yue and Tang Ziran treats Xiao Ran as though he was their son.
