16 A Single Downward Thrust.

As we walked in, the noise coming from the city started to fade, leaving the forest in its quiet and tranquility.

"Luo San Pao, come out."

Master shouted and moved his wrist, and a spirit that resembled somewhat mix of a dog and pig appeared in front of Tang Ming and Grandmaster.

The spirit have a head with large years and big balloon like belly, that give it a cute and funny look. As it appeared, it ran over towards Grandmaster and started rubbing Grandmaster leg with his head.

Under Grandmaster's feet two ring of light rose up, move back and fort over him. Both ring of light is yellow coloured, obviously of hundred year old.

"This is my martial spirit, you can call it Luo San Pao."

"My spirit is a variant martial spirit. Remember what you and I talked about variation, San Pao is just that albeit in the bad direction. When I awakened my spirit power level was only half a rank. Otherwise how could the things be as they are? No matter what I do I can never breakthrough thirtieth rank. So in the end I can only study spirit in theory only." Grandmaster said with a sad and disappointed look. He quickly regained his composure seeing that the mood was starting to get gloomy.

"San Pao open up a safe path for us." Grandmaster ordered San Pao.

"luo luo"

Luo San Pao howl and started running ahead. As San Pao led the way ahead, Tang Ming asked Grandmaster:

" Teacher, which type of beast are we going to hunt for?"

" We will be going slightly more deep in the forest than the time I came with Xiao San as we have to find a thousand year old spirit beast. We are mainly looking for thousand year old One Horned Thunder Tiger or Thunderclap Hawk. Both beast are best for your first spirit ring, the One Horned Thunder Tiger has a solid defence and attack ability with additional thunder attribute. It also has the a very strong bloodline which can even be compared to Titan Giant Ape. The ability you will gain would have all the advantages as high attack and defence with thunder elements in it."

"As for the Thunderclap Hawk, it also has a very high speed and attack power and have lightning attribute to it. It's bloodline can even be traced back to Divine Lightning Thunderhawk and would not lose to One Horned Thunder Tiger. The ability you gain would have something related to high speed and attack power with lightning attribute. And if your luck is good, chances are high you may even get a flight skill."

As Grandmaster explained to me the beast we are going to hunt, I can't help but feel a deep sense of respect toward him. If I haven't come with him I would have hunted any beast with lightning elements. I didn't think he would have researched and found the best spirit there is as per my choice.

The both spirit beast that Grandmaster mentioned already are strong and also have bloodline which can be compared to Titan Giant Ape. This in itself shows how much time he spent finding all the information related about them.

I can't help but bow to him in gratefulness and said :

" Thank you very much teacher for your efforts to help me find my spirit ring and also agreeing to my absurd request."

Grandmaster hurriedly hold and made Tang Ming stand up. He was very satisfied with Tang Ming already but have a slight grievance because of yesterday request but seeing that Tang Ming has thanked him genuinely he can't help but forget about that. He was blessed to have two of best genius in the whole continent as his student.

"There is no need to thank me, Xiao Ming. As a teacher its my duty that I search and find the best spirit beast and ring for my students." Grandmaster said with a smile plastered on his face.

After that San Pao started walking ahead again and led us to quite deep in the forest. Sometime we also have been chased by other spirit beast but we escaped with the help of San Pao.

As we were going through some dense trees, San Pao made a noise and alerted us. As Tang Ming and Grandmaster looked up ahead. In front of them was a cave and a huge beast that looks like a tiger, more than 4 m high can be seen sleeping. It has a horn in its head, 6 inches long which has purple lightning flickering over it. Its whole body was in black colour with some purple shade here and there. Overall the beast looked quite fierce.

" Well looks like your luck is good, we already found a One Horned Thunder Tiger and it's also alone at the moment. But his age is slightly more than we wanted. One Horned Thunder Tiger horn grows 3 inches every thousand year and by how long it's horn is now, it can be seen that it is approaching two thousand year or have already become." Grandmaster looked at the tiger with a slight frown.

" It's okay master, I can absorb ring that is less than three thousand years old as my first spirit ring. So you don't have to worry." Tang Ming smiled and said in a assuring manner.

Grandmaster called back his San Pao and was going to attack the tiger when Tang Ming stopped him and said :

" Master, don't attack now. It's already very dangerous and if we attack without planning, we both would die. I'm going to sneak behind it and will climb the cave from the side. After I will give you a hint, attack with all of your skills and distract it. Then I will jump and kill him from behind." Tang Ming explained and started to sneak toward the beast.

The beast didn't noticed him and he successfully climbed up and got in position. He gave a thumbs up as a hint to master who was hiding behind the tree.

Grandmaster seeing the sign summoned San Pao and released his spirit ring skills:

" Fart like striking thunder, sunder the heavens and split the earth, Luo San Pao."

Luo San Pao's pair of clear eyes suddenly shone, the yellow ring of light centered on its body seemed to become a screen of light. San Pao abruptly jumped up high and his round body started to swell like a balloon, the figure overhead suddenly toward the One Horned Thunder Tiger and a defeaning sound like a thunder rumbled.

The beast woke up suddenly but was caught off guard and taking this chance Grandmaster once again called :

" Fart wind like mist, mesmerize to deep sleep, Luo San Pao."

Once again the body of San Pao started to swell and it jumped five metre high and abruptly turned toward the beast, again a boom sounded like the striking thunder.

The beast somehow managed to dodge it but the ability was a crowd control and spread over all the area like mist which covered him. Before the beast even have the chance to react to what happened, it started to feel dizzy.

Seeing the chance, Tang Ming called his spear martial soul and poured every bit of his spirit power in it and teleported himself twenty metre above the beast. He thrusted his spear aiming at the tiger's head with full force, a boom can be heard and he descended straight downward like a black line with his spear.

As if feeling the imminent danger the beast looked upward but what he saw was a cold shining blade piercing his brain going through its eyes.

Sound of breaking of skull can be heard as the beast plopped down lifelessly on the ground. Tang Ming came running to the Grandmaster and worriedly asked :

" Master, are you all right."

Master has his eyes wide open and jaw dropped at the fact that Tang Ming managed to kill the tiger in one hit. He can't believe what he saw. One child with only tenth level spirit power managed to kill a thousand year old spirit beast instantly in a single hit. However he regained his composure quickly and said :

" I'm alright, are you good? What was the last strike that you used."

"Its just a simple thrust that I did after I jumped high at the tiger's head." Tang Ming replied with a slight smile and it was true, if leaving the fact that he teleported himself right above the beast head and the spear pierced it's eyes instead of what he was aiming for that is skull.

Grandmaster nodded and have a contemplative look on his face. ' Looks like Xiao Ming's Spear spirit is not as simple as it seems. It pierced the body and crushed the skull of a thousand year old spirit beast without even having a single spirit ring.'

As Grandmaster was thinking about the Tang Ming spear martial spirit, Tang Ming slowly walked to the beast, now a purple spirit ring can be found floating above it's dead body, Tang Ming came in front of the body and bowed his head and said :

" Sorry, for the fact that I killed you because of my need.

But I needed to kill you so that you can become my spirit ring."

After saying that Tang Ming sat down and started to make hand seal and absorb the spirit ring as Grandmaster had taught him to.

As he started to make hand seal the purple spirit ring started to float toward him, he released his spear martial soul and the spirit ring appeared at the top of his head.

As he was absorbing the ring, Grandmaster have a complex look on his face. One one hand he was worried about Tang Ming safety and wanted him to safely absorb the spirit ring and on the other hand he was having a different feeling like if Xiao Ming managed to absorb the thousand year old spirit ring, the only work he was proud in his all life would be proven wrong.

He quickly adjusted his thinking and thought:

'It doesn't matter if I'm proven wrong. Xiao Ming safety should be considered first and as his teacher I should feel proud toward him. I will show to everyone that both my students are top geniuses that I trained.'

As Grandmaster solved his conflicted thoughts, he felt a refreshing feeling and something that shackled his heart shattered. ' Yeah, both Xiao San and Xiao Ming are excellent children, I'lltrain them to be the strongest there is. And then I'll look at those who mocked me.'

At this moment, suddenly spirit power surged out from Tang Ming body and the purple spirit ring that was floating above his head, settled down below his feet.

Tang Ming stood up and breathed out. He looked at the Grandmaster which has his eyes shining at this point. Tang Ming came forward and said :

" Master I successfully absorbed the ring as I promised."

A/N : This is the first time I wrote an action scene. So do tell me if it is good or bad. Or how good or bad it is. The next chap will be released tomorrow night at the same time as of today. Well guess what ability or skill will he get. Guess and tell me.
