1 Chapter 1: Awakening Ceremony
Early in the morning on one of the hills of the Wang Clan estate , a small figure of around 6 years is sitting cross-legged on a boulder the size of a elephant , his sharp ash grey eyes calmly looking at the sunrise, seemingly out of focus and lost in thought.His walnut-brown, short hair and loosely fitted attire swaying in the freezing morning breeze as snow from the sky gently descended covering the landscape in a layer of snow and earning the boy a tiny muffled sneeze.
A middle-aged man with broad shoulders, long, yellowish brown hair and piercing ash-grey eyes, akin to the young boys, approaches the boy from the side. He calmly stands at the boys side and stares into the sky, like the boy besides him does.
"Little Fei , let's head back it's cold out here" the middle-aged man spoke with a gentle voice.
The boy, Wang Fei, obviously embarrassed and slightly blushing, grumbles.
"It's not that cold"
Want Fei's father looked at his son, amused by his embarrassment, and asks with a kind expression.
"Then why did I hear a sneeze , is it your friend Xiao Ming again?" He replied with a light chuckle
"Yes , ho..how did you know?"Wang Fei stammered and lowers his head, even more embarrassed than before after being seen through by his father.
Wang Ling, Lil Fei's father, chuckled again at his sons antics and messily ruffled his hair.
"Father don't ruffle my hair if not I am telling Mother that you ruined her careful combing again." Wang Fei said cheekily.
"Alright, alright, let's head back it's not getting early anymore, you don't want to miss the awakening ceremony would you?"
"But...before that, can we... talk a bit, first?" Lil Fei asks with a meek voice.
"Sure..." Wang Ling takes a seat beside his son and similarly sits cross-legged on the boulder.
"So, what do you want to talk about?"
The both of them started discussing about the Awakening Ceremony that will take place the later and his father kindly explains the ceremony's history to him, but not before knocking him on his head for forgetting this important history again earning a yell from Wang Fei.
Every human has some type of Spirit Soul lying dormant within themselves. The Awakening Ceremony is, as the name implies, a ceremony to awaken ones Spirit Soul. Depending on what kind of Spirit Soul it is, one may be able to become a Soul Master. In general, a Spirit Soul defines the speciality of a person. Someone who awakened an Plant Spirit, for example, will generally be better at tending to plants that someone who awakened a Saber Spirit.
The Awakening Ceremony itself is a ritual that dates back to more than 20.000 years ago. Spirit Masters who at least reached Rank 20 would help the young children to awaken their Spirit Souls before measuring their Innate Soul Power.
In recent times, due to the decrease spirit masters due to a invasion of beast most people would make an appointment with the Spirit Master's Association to have their children's Spirit Soul be awakened. In Clans like the Wang Clan, an inner elder of the Family would usually take charge of the Ceremony to keep secrecy and prevent outsiders from finding out about the genius of the family to prevent assassination.
"Alright, that's really enough now. It's already way too late. Come, let's go." Wang Ling said with his hand on Lil Fei's shoulder. "Let me bring you to The Central Plaza, Xiao Fei."
"Yes, father..." Sheng Feilong answers with a dazzling gleam in his eyes, clearly excited , and follows his father, chasing after him heading towards Wang Estates Main Plaza, where a crowd of dozens of people has already gathered.
