Spirit Pagoda?

Chapter 9 Spirit Pagoda?

Long Yuan woke up from his peaceful sleep when he heard the sound of rain hitting the ground. It was raining really hard and Long Yuan instinctively felt the urge to not get up and sleep more.

But he woke up suddenly after finally remembering the events which he went through the day before.

Long Yuan rushed downstairs to ask his parents whether they found Na'er. He ran around his house looking for his parents. Finally, he made it into their living room and he saw his mother sitting on the sofa. She looked as if she was contemplating something really important.

"Mother, did you find Na'er?" Long Yuan asked his mother. He was extremely tense and nervous because of how his mother was looking at him.

"Yuan'er this….." Mei gong replied to Long Yuan in a very quiet voice.

Both of them turned their heads toward the door as they heard the sound of the door opening. They noticed a middle-aged man who seemed to have gotten really wet from the rain. The man's clothes were also wet and there seemed to be droplets of water dripping from his wet clothes which somehow showed how much he had gone through the previous night.

"Yuan'er…" the man called out in a feeble sound he seemed to be exhausted and really needed some rest.

Even though he saw the state his father was in Long Yuan could not help but ask his father.

"Did you find her?"

Long Yuan noticed that his father did not reply to what he asked and grew more tense. He really wanted to urge his parents for answers but did not dare do so seeing his father's state.

Finally, after sitting down on a couch Lin Tian prepared to give in to Long Yuan's demands and give him an answer.

"Yuan'er I was not able to find her. It doesn't seem like there are any kids with the description you provided to be around here. I even made sure to check with all adoption centers and daycare centers nearby… I still was not able to find a single trace of the child you were talking about. It's almost as if she did not exist in the first place…"

Long Yuan was devastated when the first friend he made who was around his age went missing because of his mistake. Long Yuan regrets leaving her hand which led to her being separated from him.

"It's all my fault.." Long Yuan said. His eyes were watering. On seeing this his father couldn't help but try to console him.

"Yuan'er, Don't panic if you truly are destined to meet each other again then it will happen. Losing your calm is the worst thing you could do right now. Yuan'er, You must always remember that keeping calm and making decisions with a calm and serene mind is the most important thing." Lin Tian told his son while patting his head calmly in a steady manner trying his best to console his son and make him stop crying.

Mei gong took Long Yuan into her hands, making him lie down on her lap.

"Yuan'er men do not cry. If you cry for every little thing then how will you protect people who are important to you in the future." Mei gong told her son while patting her son's head slowly. She had a slight smile on her face and looked as if she was trying to tease him.

Listening to his parents' voice proved to be a wake up call for Long Yuan who had lost his calm after losing something precious to him. He realized that he should always stay calm while facing calamities so that he can make the best decisions possible.

"Mother, Father, I won't cry anymore from today onwards." Long Yuan told his parents with a determined expression on his face while wiping off the tears which were still in his eyes.

"That's my son." Both Lin Tian and Mei gong told this at the same time and looked at each other then smiled after realizing that they both said the same thing.

After that Mei Gong went to prepare breakfast. Preparing food for the Lin family was a challenge she had to take on every day. It was challenging because of the amount of food Long Yuan consumed on his own. After having breakfast Lin Tian was going to leave for Tiangong but heard the doorbell ringing.

Lin Tian then made his way to the door and opened it to check who it was. A middle aged man with long black hair and a beard. Who seemed to exude a strong presence. Lin Tian invited the man to the living room and asked.

"Who are you? Why did you come here at this time of the day?" Lin Tian was cautious to not offend the man before him as he could feel that the man he was facing was a soul master.

The middle aged man just smiled and turned to look at Long Yuan who still had a determined expression on his face. It seemed that something had just struck Long Yuan who realized who this man was.

"You are the soul master who helped to awaken me." Long Yuan exclaimed while looking at his father who was curious about this soul master.

"Yes, I am from the Spirit Pagoda and we are interested in recruiting talented soul masters to the new academy that the Spirit Pagoda has decided to launch. I am pretty sure a higher up already came to talk about the details with your father here." The middle aged man said while he was stroking his beard and looking at the kid who still seemed to refuse to look away from this middle aged man.

"Hmm, so you are from the Spirit Pagoda.." Lin Tian said while both he and Mei Gong were looking at this man with sharp looks in their eyes.
