36 Chapter 36: Spirit Pagoda

In the entire Douluo continent, there were four undeniable powerful organizations that no one should ever offend.

They were the Federation, Spirit Pagoda, Tang Sect and Shrek Academy.

The Federation was the government and the military, they had the advantage of advance technology, soul weapons and soul master army compared to the other organizations.

Spirit Pagoda however, is the richest organization and with the most influence among the entire soul master world as they are the sole organization to provide spirit souls.

Tang Sect is a mysterious organization that many had thought had disappeared but was just hiding their strength, with resources that no other organizations could contend.

Shrek Academy is not a organization but a school for soul masters, its a neutral party to everything unless they're provoke. Among the other organizations, this school reign as the strongest powerhouse with numerous Titled Douluos.

Two of these organizations were after Xiu Ye's parents and he was standing in front of one's branch, Spirit Pagoda.

He knew that it was dumb to go to his parents' enemy building and stand near at their doorstep. He would be captured by them after all.

But last night, he got to call Yu Fei and asked.

"Is it possible to go a Spirit Pagoda building and enter their Spirit Ascension Platform?" Xiu Ye leaned against the door of his dorm room, he was in the hallways, most of the students now either asleep or cultivating.

Yu Fei familiar voice was transmitted through the soul communicator with a sigh. "It is. They know that your parents had a child but they don't even know what your gender much less your looks. So you're good to enter the Spirit Pagoda and enter the Spirit Ascension Platform, but stay at a low profile okay?"

"Mm. I understand, good night sis." He hung up and then proceeded to enter his room to sleep.

Right now he was standing in front of a building of Spirit Pagoda.

Eastsea's Spirit Pagoda was incomparable to the one in Glorybound City. This Spirit Pagoda was one of the eighteen great pagodas, collectively known as the Eighteen Pillars of Heaven.

Spirit Pagoda's foundation was in the shape of an octagon and covered a large area. The pagoda then narrowed every ten layers until it reached the peak of the spire.

Even by just admiring it from a distance, one could feel its grandeur.

This pagoda branch already looked quite grand; what would the Spirit Pagoda headquarters look like? How majestic would it be?

In any way possible, Xiu Ye would never go near an enemy base without being strong enough to protect himself. But how could he do that if one of the best and easiest way to get stronger is by going in said enemy base?

The spirit ascension platform was created by the Spirit Pagoda. Soul Masters can go there to gain experience and increase their strength. Moreover, they can experience the charms of the ancient Soul Master's world. Most of the principles of its creation wasn't known, but it said that over ten Title Douluos were involved in its creation, and the greatest researchers of the time poured their efforts into it. Only after the Spirit Pagoda invested an enormous amount of resources was the spirit ascension platform completed.

Originally, the spirit ascension platform was used as a step in the Spirit Pagoda's research into artificial spirit souls. They hoped that it would be able to upgrade artificial spirit souls, and hence manufacture even stronger spirit souls. After completion, however, they discovered that it was only a partial success. Although the spirit ascension platform could upgrade spirit souls, its effects weren't as great as they expected, and its nature wasn't too clear.

Naturally, after making such a large investment, the Spirit Pagoda couldn't discard the product. After another period of development, the spirit ascension platform became a unique place. To put it simply, it's the crystallization of the continent's best soul devices and the efforts of the greatest Soul Masters and researchers. After entering the spirit ascension platform, a Soul Master will feel that they had entered a whole different realm, yet they would still be protected by the spirit ascension platform. The danger inside isn't too high, but Soul Masters can battle with soul beasts to increase their combat experience in there. If you're lucky, you might even be able to improve your spirit soul.

The spirit ascension platform has multiple layers. It costs about 500,000 federal coins per entry into the elementary spirit ascension platform. There are only one thousand spots each month for the elementary spirit ascension platform. And spaces for the intermediate and advanced spirit ascension platforms are even fewer. This is because they consume even more resources, so the cost of entry is also several times higher.

That was what Xiu Ye had wanted to buy with the Cen Yue intended to give him, as the latter has the influence to easily buy a token spot for an elementary spirit ascension platform just by a call and even probably get it at a discounted price.

Xiu Ye took a deep breath in to calm himself and walked further towards the building. "Alright, let's do this."

Standing near the entrance of the Spirit Pagoda was a pretty looking brunette young woman with black sparkly eyes, she was between 20-25 years old with moderate breasts and wide child bearing hips.

Her name is Shu Lengwei, one of the many normal receptionist staff of Spirit Pagoda and a four-ringed soul master, just on her way on getting her fifth ring by a couple of months.

She was on her way on becoming a soul king. The requirement to use and own a one-word battle armor. She could become a battle armor master! The most prestigious occupation that any soul master would want. When she officially becomes one, her position in the Spirit Pagoda would rise!

Sadly however, even if she became a soul king, she still didn't have the money to commission the complete battle armor she wanted. It would still take a couple of years working in tbe organization just to have the money for it.

That was the reason why she was waiting by the entrance of the Spirit Pagoda, because she had to escort a little friend of Grandmaster Cen Yue, a famous sixth ranked blacksmith, to the elementary spirit ascension platform. Having to escort a friend of such a famous person could earn the escort, her, a huge bonus.

Many other staff members fought one another for the spot of being an escort but it was all decided by a draw of straws.

Which Shu Lengwei had won.

'Okay, as long as I don't somehow screw this up, I can already get a complete one-word battle armor by the end of the year!' Shu Lengwei inwardly pumped herself up and clenching her right fist in confidence and enthusiasm.

Xiu Ye was informed earlier by Cen Yue that someone was going to escort him in the Spirit Pagoda, and she was going to be by the entrance.

Looking to see a brunette clenching her hand up, he stepped forward and asked. "Um, hello? Are you the escort? I'm Xiu Ye, a first grade class one student of Eastsea City Academy."

Shu Lengwei blinked her eyes, her mind in a daze as she stared at the, honest to gods, handsome boy in front of her.

'Oh. My. God. He's so freaking cute!' She screamed loudly in her mind, a chibi version of herself blushing and smiling as she dance around in her head.

'Is this little guy are what those people in the soul net been talking about? A shota?'

Xiu Ye felt a shiver run down his spine as he stared at the gaze of Shu Lengwei looking at him intensely.

'Why do I sense a feeling of danger in front of this woman?'

Shu Lengwei snapped out of her thoughts and coughed. "O-Oh, you're Grandmaster Cen Yue's friend right? Welcome to Eastsea City Spirit Pagoda, my name is Shu Lengwei, please follow me."

Xiu Ye nodded his head as he followed the woman inside the pagoda building.

After entering the pagoda's first floor, they were met with a dazzling sight of the interior. Dark gold stone tiled the floors, creating a beautiful granular pattern. Several obelisks stood tall in the center of the space, propping up a dome over ten meters in diameter. The most shocking thing, however, was that the dome being held up by those obelisks had a magnificent and colorful mural on it.

The mural was resplendent, the scenery painted on the mural seemingly recounting its characters' tales.

Shu Lengwei explained. "This mural portrays the tale of the Spirit Pagoda's founder, a legendary Soul Master and inventor of spirit souls. It tells of how the Spirit Ice Douluo guided humanity's Soul Masters in resisting a tide of soul beasts. This is merely a part of the complete mural, that mural having eighteen parts in total."

"The mural within the headquarters depicts the Spirit Ice Douluo battling the strongest Soul Beast, Di Tian. The Spirit Ice Douluo disappeared after that epic battle, never to be seen since. Yet, it is rumored that he was victorious, for the Soul Beast God, the Golden-eyed Black Dragon King Di Tian, hasn't appeared since."

Although he was only listening to Shu Lengwei's narration of the tale, Xiu Ye's heart was filled with awe. He could feel the impressiveness of the scene that the mural depicted. Within the soul beast tide, one giant soul beast after another advanced toward the walls of a great city, creating an atmosphere of extreme terror.

Floating above the city was a person with shining eyes. Surrounding him were several floating figures. One of them was a beautiful woman in white, another a woman dressed in green. Upon his shoulder was an existence that looked like an ice crystal, a gigantic bear, and an enormous white worm. Brilliant soul rings revolved around his body.

Xiu Ye's eyes widened in shock, for the appearance of the man greatly resembled someone he once saw in a video.

The man mostly wore black clothes, had long white hair, white jade skin, handsome face that could make any woman blushed and instantly fall in love with him, especially his ever confident smile.

But the most prominent part of himself, was his pair of blue jewel like eyes that can stare deep into someone's soul.

'Gojo... Satoru?!'
