22 Chapter 22: Chicken wings

(AN: For those wondering why I keep bringing up chicken related food, cause I like it. Also, special thanks to my two new rank 2 patrons: Kaiseth and Kinked. Thanks guys! Enjoy the chapter!)

An hour passes by and night came. Xiu Ye walked Na'er back to her home, which coincidentally Tang Wulin was at the door, giving both siblings small hugs and after greeting their parents; Tang Ziran and Lang Yue, he returned home.

"Oh, you're back?" Mang Tian said, wiping his wet hands with a handkerchief after a hard day's work.

Years passed and there wasn't much change to Mang Tian except gaining small wrinkles on his forehead, which he forcibly declines having some.

"Yeah. I just had accompanied Na'er to the arcade to play and take her home after. Anyways, I'll be preparing dinner." Xiu Ye said.

"Alright, I'll be cleaning the workshop for a bit while you're cooking." Mang Tian nodded then turned around to fixed some things up.

Shrugging, Xiu Ye walked towards the house back at the workshop and into the kitchen. Then he brought out the necessary ingredients to cook up a meal for dinner.

'Thank god the food ingredients in this world almost remains the same in my previous one.' Xiu Ye hummed as he held a frying pan and cooking oil, following what he had read in soulnet to cook chicken wings.

In his previous life, he knew how to cook but not to the point of cooking various culinary dishes like a five star chef. He cooked good but had limited knowledge.

Which was why he was thankful that there was an internet in this world to search up some food dishes and how to cook them. Though seriously, soulnet? The modern tech terms from his previous life had a 'soul' added to the techs here to avoid copyright.

'Although they have the same and other futuristic tech here compared to earth, the entertainment industry here needs help. All they have for entertainment here are sub-par mecha animes and recorded soul master battles.' Xiu Ye's mind wandered as his hands moved around the kitchen with the utensils and ingredients in his hands needed to make dinner.

An hour later, the food was done.

"Dinner's ready!" Xiu Ye shouted as he finished preparing the plates, spoon, fork, sauce, rice and a side dish of vegetables on the table. All enough for two people with a single large covered bowl in the middle of the two plates.

Sitting on one of the chairs, Xiu Ye uncovered the cover over the bowl; which is contained with several crispy golden, deep fried chicken wings with some seasonings on it added for further spiciness and flavor.

A heavenly smell of his favorite familiar food assaulted Mang Tian's nose, making him unhesitatingly dropped a large metal object, which suspiciously looked like a mecha component, to the side making a dent on the ground.

In a flash, he appeared sitting in one of the chairs and started eating.

After dipping the fried chicken wings into the sauce and taking a bite out of it, Mang Tian's brain had momentarily shut down.

The mouthwatering flavor of the sauce, mixed with the crispiness of its skin and the juiciness of its meat... He had eaten deep fried chicken wings before, even in five star restaurants sometimes when he wanted to eat something good after a hard day at work.

But this? It was like god had descended and bestowed upon him a meal made out of the meat of a phoenix!

"I-It's so goooood~!" Mang Tian moaned out loud, his eyes lost focus as his consciousness had dived into the land of fried chicken wings.

Unexpectedly, his soul power had momentarily gone out of control around his body and exploded his clothes into pieces!

'Nope!' Xiu Ye grabbed a few pieces of chicken wings, the sauce and his side vegetables and headed into his room to eat.

He doesn't want anything to do with what just happened.

"Ahh. Well those were pretty awesome chicken wings." Xiu Ye muttered as he licked the upper part of his teeth in satisfaction after that scrumptious meal he had.

Cleaning up his plate and other utensils, he walked out of his room, and headed down towards the kitchen to clean up his dishes while ignoring the still naked eating Mang Tian.

He finishes up after ten minutes and headed back into his room, closes the door, and sat down on his bed to meditate.

Xiu Ye thought over what he had achieved for the last three years.

For one, after getting a hundred percent success rate in forging hundred refined metal, within the first six months, to build proper blacksmithing foundation he moved next to thousand refining metal called Thousand Refinements.

The Thousand Refinements isn't as simple as just pounding the metal a thousand times. The metal's impurities must be dispelled under continuous forgings, thus increasing its density. The most important effect of the Thousand Refinements is refining. It can only be called Thousand Refinements if the metal is refined and improved.

After two and a half years, Xiu Ye had manage to have a hundred success rate on thousand refinements in every grade.

Most importantly, the value of anything made with Thousand Refined metal is a hundred times higher than those made of Hundred Forged metal.

And since he had some reasons on not wanting to seal some of them, about only 85% of the entire metals he forged he sold them to the blacksmith association, situated at the nearest city, with the help of Mang Tian.

Since most of those metals sold were 2nd or 1st grade thousand refined, the money he earned was a lot. Which is a total of 10 million federation coins. Making him a very, very rich kid.

Though back to the thousand refinements, there was a certain tradition to blacksmiths when they first thousand refined metal called: blood sacrifice.

The Blood Sacrifice lets a metal become one with your blood vessels, creating a sort of fantastic bond between one's blood and the metal. It would become a part of your body. Combining the Blood Sacrifice with a metal that has undergone the Thousand Refinements, this would result in your blood vessels having the same improvement, being able to bring out stronger innate qualities.

Once a blacksmith utilize the Blood Sacrifice, this piece of metal can only be used by the individual. Even if others were to attempt to forge with it, it would not be possible as the metal would not recognize anyone else. Even if they tried, the metal would just shatter; it only recognizes its master.

Thus, the Blood Sacrifice isn't commonly used when forging. Blacksmiths rarely create their own Blood Sacrificed products.

Xiu Ye had only done this kind of ritual to his official first thousand refinement metal; Crimson Iron, the metal that had the most connection with him.

The iron lump that he first thousand refined wasn't valid as he had actually forged it into a dagger.

He also done blood sacrifice a couple of times to other metals to test out what benefits they had. Which is one of the reasons why he wasn't able to sold all of the metals he forged.

The other reason, was because he had forged the metals that he refined into soul tools. Soul Tool is a broad name for many different kinds of machines and devices. One thing in common is that they use the same or similar type of energy. They can be normal appliances at home to military weaponry equalling a nuke.

However, what Xiu Ye had made were ancient weapon type soul tools. Swords, spears, axes, war hammers, etc.. He had made them with extra capabilities that no ordinary weapons should have, which is why they were called soul tools.

Mang Tian was shock, because he knew that only a Soul Guidance Master is capable of making a soul tool. He knew this as he himself had the ability to create some low grade soul tools. But the great question was, how in the hell did he learn to do that?

For Xiu Ye to not only be skilled in blacksmith....It was at that point that he just decided to not care about common sense being applied to his foster son.

Also, if Xiu Ye were to be assessed in a blacksmith association, he would be clarified to be a blacksmith grandmaster!

A nine year old blacksmith grandmaster, is something no one has ever seen before in the entire history of blacksmithing!

And that wasn't adding a fact that he's a soul master genius as well.

He was at the rank of 19, just one rank away from being a Soul Grandmaster and getting his second soul ring, and he was just nine years old! Only a small few are this talented. What's more, he had voluntarily held off in breaking through the next rank!

The reason for that was because he wanted to evolve his spirit soul to a thousand year old level via a certain method, only available in eighteen certain places in the entire Douluo continent.

Back to his soul power, it had reached rank 19 one year ago and since Xiu Ye didn't want to proceed to the next rank until his spirit soul levels, he decided to spend the time making his soul power more compressed and dense.

Which wasn't hard for him, as he had found out that he had more soul power compared to others at the same rank already before he started condensing his soul power. He estimated his soul power to be about the same amount as a three-ringed soul master, as Mang Tian had previously told him when he sensed his soul power being rather abundant during forging.

The reason for that is because he has a rather wide and durable set of meridians in his body, making him able to easily contain more soul power and circulate them around his body. Causing him twice the result with half the effort to cultivate his soul power!
