130 Chapter 129: Untold Legends and Tragedies

"The Flame Emperor...." They muttered out the unfamiliar words out of their lips.

Both Gu Yue and Na'er didn't know why, but they felt a certain familiarity with those words.

Like they've heard such a name before.

Xiu Ye didn't wait for them to gather their wits and continued, "Those were the words written in the ancient books I've read, with some also dictating some of his journey to supremacy. And yet despite all of his achievements, which can even surpass Tang San's legend if he had remained a mortal, there was no further records of him. His name? Only his title as the Flame Emperor is mentioned. His family? Nonexistent. It didn't mention his parents, his wives, his children, etc. It did mention his loved ones but it didn't elaborate."

"Its like this great person appeared out of thin air, resolved the issue of the continent, and then disappeared soon after when his job is over."

"But what I'm most concerned about is the fact that this Flame Emperor and all of his greatest achievements, are not in our world history but is instead only available in Shrek's library."

"And he isn't the only one." Xiu Ye's expression turned grim. "Ten thousand years ago, during the Spirit Ice Douluo Huo Yuhao's era, two cases of mass genocide had occured that reaped the lives of over ten million people."

Their eyes widened, horrified.

"T-Ten million...." Wu Siduo just felt dizzy and face green at the thought of so many innocent lives being snuffed out like a flame of a candle. "That's more than the casualties in the Unholy War!"

Everyone clenched their hands, remembering the tragedy and their involvement in trying to stop it.

Although it's been three years, most of them felt like it was just yesterday. They could still hear the screams, the growls, the scenes of an entire street flowing blood and human flesh.

"Ye," Tang Wulin turned towards Xiu Ye with a serious expression, his pupils glowing red. His Deathgod's Domain, which had mostly remained dormant for so many years, was starting to come out once more. "this genocide of ten thousand years ago... has this something got to do with the Holy Spirit Cult?"

Everyone except Xiu Ye, Wu Siduo and Na'er started to let out their own killing intent at the mention of the Holy Spirit Cult.

Wu Siduo momentarily flinched at the sudden burst of killing intent from everyone around her. She was surprised at the amount of killing intent they were all releasing. This feeling was like that one time when she was being surrounded by a group of thousand years old soul beasts in the Spirit Ascension Platform.

Xiu Ye shook his head and said, "I don't know. But it's likely and terrifying if they were to recreate it in this era. Because what was written in the notes I read is that the two genocides was something that had almost destroyed our reality."

Ye Xinglan narrowed her eyes. "What does that mean?"

"Those millions of people that died? They were all part of a sacrificial ritual that created an object in exchange of their life force. An object, when used, can grant you an untold amount of power that if it were a normal they would have the power of a Titled Douluo at best and possibly obtain immortality."

They widened their eyes and subconsciously gasped in horror.

Although such an object is enticing and would have made them wish they have it in their hands, but the method of creating it was something they all didn't want.

"Big brother Ye. This, evil object, what is it called and did it land in anyone's hands?" Na'er practically spat out the words "evil object" with a face of disgust.

"I don't know." Xiu Ye shook his head and his formed a weary smile. "That was all I could extract from a book that uses a ten thousand year old ago language. It's gonna take some time. And it's not the end of it. Have any one of you heard, about the legend of the Dragon God?"

Some of them nodded while the rest shook their heads. Both Gu Yue and Na'er shared a look of communication that only they can understand.

Xiu Ye then explained, "Legend has it that a long time ago, the Dragon God started roaming the galaxy not long after he was born. At some point, he acquired destruction/chaos and life/creation energy. Later, he found a planet and was prepared to settle down on the planet. That planet was the Douluo Planet. Thereupon, he began creating his first-generation children. After a very long time, humankind was born on multiple planets including the Douluo Planet."

"The Dragon God was at the top of the Dragon Clan. The Dragon God was born during the creation of the world. He was one of the most ancient Gods, the originator of all beast-type Gods. Or was he? After all, can a dragon give birth to a phoenix? Or a whale? A monkey? A cat? A dog? Or even a horse? Impossible, right?" They nodded in agreement.

"Well, from what I've found out in the most ancient texts in the library... some other beings at the same level as the Dragon God had once came here in this part of the universe and sent down their respective representatives of their race to be a part of the ecology. Though it's proven but mere theory yet, but would you really believe that a dragon gave birth to a horse?"

Everyone rapidly shook their heads, not wanting to imagine such a scene. They didn't notice Gu Yue and Na'er's faces being extremely pale and green.

Xiu Ye chuckled and proclaimed, "Ladies and gentlemen, this world is hiding more than what it is seen on its surface."

An air of silence descended upon them.

Xiu Ye leaned his head forward, his elbows on the table, fingers interlocked together, and rested his chin on his finger. He turned his head around to look at each one of his friends.

His eyes turned firm. "Listen. I tell you all this because I trust each and everyone of you to not spill what I say to anyone except for ourselves. Something is going on here, a giant conspiracy that's been going on for over twenty thousand years, and we have to be prepared about it!"

"We can't tell anyone about it unless we're sure about who and what their loyalties are; if they are against us or with us."

"Tang Sect, Spirit Pagoda, the Federation, and specially the Shrek Academy is not to be trusted at this moment. Which is why we're having this conversation here and not in the Sea God Pavilion, where we're most likely to be eavesdropped by those elders in there than in here. Possibly all of the Shrek teachers and some of the inner students, and the alumnae who were former inner court students, know about this but kept to themselves."

"It might've been with good intentions or with bad intentions, but point is, until we understand what is truly going on, we don't trust anyone else but ourselves."

Xiu Ye was silent for a moment before his pair of golden eyes flashed silver.
