36 Chapter 35 - After the Battle, First Contact with Elemental Laws

Bei Bei and Xu Sanshi approached and sighed in relief after discovering that there was nothing wrong with Mo Xie other than his consumption of spiritual power. With some rest time he would be brand new.

Jiang Nannan also approached with Yuhao and Wang Dong and they looked at Mo Xie as if he were some kind of monster.

Yuhao was the first to speak. "I knew Senior Brother Mo Xie was strong, but I didn't think it would be that far." Mo Xie's strength and combat prowess was terrifying to say the least. If he were in his place, Yuhao knew he couldn't do the same, even with his ultimate martial soul.

"This guy is just a freak." Wang Dong said and was in conflict internally. He was grateful that Mo Xie saved them, but he didn't want to admit that he was less talented than Mo Xie.

Xu Sanshi smirked as he remembered his fights with Mo Xie. If Mo Xie had used this force against him, Xu Sanshi feared it wouldn't last a second against him.

Bei Bei noticed his expression and said with a gentle expression. "Sanshi, how about you fight Mo Xie once more in the arena? I think your fight will attract a lot of gold coins."

"Get out! I will never fight this freak again. If you're so confident, why don't you try fighting him?" Xu Sanshi said angrily.

"I'm a pacifist and I don't like fighting." Bei Bey replied calmly. If Xu Sanshi didn't know his personality he would have been easily fooled by him, but after hearing this he just looked at him mockingly.

"Okay, we better get out of here now. Sanshi, help carry Mo Xie. This Soul Emperor has passed out and is badly injured, so let's take him in for interrogation at the academy." Bei Bei said changing the subject.

Everyone agreed and headed towards the academy.

On the city wall, Yan Shaoze and Elder Lin, who were watching with several other figures, started talking.

"This boy's strength is terrifying. Having such a powerful domain at his age is extremely rare." Elder Lin said with a smile.

"I kind of understand Elder Mu's decision now. This child really doesn't need a teacher teaching him continuously." Yan Shaoze shook his head in admiration. Even late, he still managed to see much of Mo Xie's final fight against the enemy Soul Emperor. His four black rings gave him a great surprise and became curious about how he got them.

Elder Lin's voice was suddenly cold and said without haste. "Send someone to interrogate that Soul Emperor and search on the corpses to find out who dared to try to murder one of our students. Spare no expense to find the culprit!"

"Yes!" Yan Shaoze bowed and his eyes were filled with murderous intent, signaling for some people to heed the order.

Mo Xie opened his eyes slowly and the first thing he saw was the ceiling of an unfamiliar room. His body was still a little weak, but with a little effort, he could move normally.

Sitting up he looked around and saw a simple room with a wooden table, a wardrobe and a large bed, in which he was currently sitting. Sunlight streamed in through the window and lit up his slightly pale white face.

A scent of medicine could be felt in the air when Ma Xiaotao walked through the door holding a bowl of herbal tea.

Realizing that Mo Xie had woken up, Ma Xiaotao smiled happily and slowly approached him before taking a seat in a chair beside the bed.

Mo Xie was a little stunned by Ma Xiaotao's smile. She looked so radiant and gentle that the words caught in his throat.

Who broke the silence was Ma Xiaotao.

"Here, have a drink. This will help you recover faster." She handed him the bowl filled with medicinal herbal tea.

Mo Xie nodded and drank all the tea. Its medicinal effectiveness coursed through his entire body, relieving the stress on his muscles and helping him regain his spiritual power. Even his face regained its normal color, no longer as pale as it was.

Mo Xie was about to speak when he felt Ma Xiaotao's embrace. He was surprised and tried to pull away for a moment. Without success he just let Ma Xiaotao do what she wanted. He could feel two clumps of meat pressed against his chest and Ma Xiaotao's sweet fragrance, as well as her slender body.

However, Mo Xie didn't dare return the hug, leaving his hands pressed to the bed.

"You know how worried I was when I heard you passed out after fighting a Soul Emperor and five Soul Kings?" Ma Xiaotao's soft voice sounded in his ear. He could feel her concern for him and her anger for his opponents.

"Sorry…" That was the only answer he could give.

"I know you are strong, but never again be so reckless in a fight. If that Soul Emperor hadn't passed out, you would have died." Ma Xiaotao tightened her hold on Mo Xie and said with a little disapproval.

She wasn't against Mo Xie fighting. A spiritual master should continually strive to improve himself and become stronger, but she was afraid that Mo Xie would be reckless and seriously hurt himself or lose his life because of his carelessness.

Mo Xie smiled slightly and replied in a playful tone. "I expected to hear this from everyone but you. After all, the title Berserk Flame Devil speaks for itself."

Ma Xiaotao pinched his waist and said angrily: "Don't change the subject!"

"Ouch, Senior Sister, you win. My body still hasn't recovered, so stop pinching me." Mo Xie said innocently, begging for forgiveness.

Ma Xiaotao's expression softened and she stopped pinching him. "Rest well and recover in two days. Elder Xuan told me to take you to meet some people." Ma Xiaotao said with a mysterious expression after stopping the hug.

"En." Mo Xie replied a little absently, recalling the comforting feeling of Ma Xiaotao's embrace.

Pleased, Ma Xiaotao said, "My master needs me to go find him, so I will visit you later." She didn't wait for Mo Xie to respond and left the room, leaving Mo Xie stunned staring at the closed door.

If Mo Xie saw her expression when she left the room, he would notice that Ma Xiaotao's face was red with a slightly shy expression. It was a shame he didn't see.
