Chapter 57: Next Target, Spotted!

"No fucking way..." Huo Yuhao muttered as he looked down to see the beautiful crystal blue antlers, almost as large as himself, glowed and emitted a strong undulations of soul power.

Although the probability of a soul bone dropping would increase when the soul beast died with resentment, which it certainly did as it had lost its life to someone with one ring, even if it was a hundred thousand year old soul ring.

"Did it seriously dropped a soul bone? Holy Ice God, it's even a external soul bone!" Skydream yelled, dumbfounded.

'External soul bone?!' Huo Yuhao was stunned.

It was commonly known to soul masters that they could only have six soul bones; one in each limbs, one for the torso, and lastly one for the head. However, there's always an exception, and that was the External Soul Bone!

Unlike normal soul bones, there was no limits on how many external bones a soul master can have. Moreover, it's also a growth type! Meaning, as long as the owner grows stronger, so does the external soul bone. Lastly, it's easily given or inherited to another. However, it's also extremely rare that it stands in equal rarity along with a hundred thousand year soul ring!

And this was certainly very useful, there was one problem.

"...Yeah, no. I'm not going to fuse with some large crystal antlers that are as big as I am. No matter how powerful they might be." Huo Yuhao flatly said.

"But it's a 12,000 year old external soul bone." Skydream tried to persuade him. "Think of the power it could grant you!"

Huo Yuhao shook his head firmly. "I understand the benefits, Skydream, but I'll look freaking ridiculous with it!"

"Pah! What's appearance when you have the power?"

"So then if you have the opportunity, would you fuse with it?"

"..."

Huo Yuhao snorted. "Thought so," then he thought of something and became deep in thought for a while.

"Yuhao?"

"...I won't fuse it, but it'll be a shame to just let it rot or give it to someone else." Huo Yuhao muttered, a wide smile spread across his face. "But I can refine it into a soul tool!"

After thousands of years of research, soul engineers have managed to refine soul bones into a soul tool. Not only to make weapons but also to bring out the fullest potential hidden in a soul bone.

As someone who had studied soul engineering, Huo Yuhao knew the method on how to refine a soul bone into a soul tool!

However!

"I still need a few materials to mix in the refinement of the external soul bone and forging it into a weapon." Huo Yuhao wryly smiled, as the materials he needed are incredibly rare and expensive.

But that was to be expected, as the main material for it was a 12,000 year old external soul bone! The other materials he needed has to be of similar quality or the finished soul tool wouldn't be able to fully utilize the power of the soul bone.

"Ah, screw it. I got all the time in the world! After my training here in the Extreme North, I'll go to a nearby city and try to find those materials." Huo Yuhao let out a sigh and quickly stored the crystal antlers, as well as the Snow Deer King's corpse, into his storage belt.

What? It was a waste not to use its corpse!

Before heading into the Extreme North, Ancestor had already given him his training schedule of after he fuses with Ice Empress.

For six months he'll train in the Extreme North; one month he'll concentrate in mastering his newfound abilities, for two months he'll learn wind and water jutsus, and the remaining three months was for him to survive in the land of ice and snow without any of his abilities. His will, determination and heart of a beast is to be tempered for that time.

And after that, he'll go back to civilization, not Shrek Academy, for at least three months. Huo Yuhao thought that it was because Ancestor wanted him to learn more of the world. He isn't wrong.

But Ancestor wanted him to experience the darkness of the world, of society and humanity.

To Ancestor, Huo Yuhao is a smart yet naive kid. Contradictory? Yes. But that nativity is about his inexperience of the schemes of others, the manipulations and betrayals that can happen in the world. Ancestor believes that Huo Yuhao needs to have his eyes opened to the harsh reality of the world, so that he can better navigate through it and protect himself.

"Though, I gotta say, that fight with the Snow Deer King was kinda...easy." Huo Yuhao said as he sat cross-legged before the completely formed black ring suspended in the air.

Skydream rolled his eyes.

"Of course it was going to be easy, for you. Don't forget, you have the martial soul and soul ring of the Ice Empress. She's one of the three kings of the Extreme North, an overlord that can easily snuff out the existence of an average ten thousand year old soul beast just by breathing." He explained.

He then solemnly added, "Moreover, you were also using your Ice God's Legacy! Compared to the three kings, the Ice God is the supreme ruler over everything. It is our God, the reason for our existence."

"And although you can only channel a small fraction of its power, its aura can still suppress any ice soul beast as the progenitor of all ice soul beasts! Anything less than a hundred thousand year old soul beast would have their powers suppressed. From my analysis of your battle against the Snow Deer King, it seemed to only display 60% of its power!"

Huo Yuhao's jaw dropped.

'Holy shit! This shit is broken!'

His started to breathe heavily for a moment before shaking his head. Such power was indeed powerful, but that was only towards ice soul beast and soul masters with ice type beast soul. Against other types of soul beasts and soul masters? It could only be considered powerful, not unbeatable.

'Which is why I have to master my newfound abilities quickly and then learn new jutsus to make me more powerful!' Huo Yuhao's eyes burned with ambition.

He looked up at the black soul ring, his fully matured Sharingan in full view as he gazed at the black halo.

'But most importantly, I have to awaken my Mangekyō Sharingan! The Ice God Legacy is just a external force, it would one day be of no use to me when I reach a higher level of cultivation.'

'But not my Sharingan! Ancestor told me that my eyes hold many secrets, and the Mangekyō Sharingan, which hold numerous possible secret abilities for me to have, is just the next step of its evolution! He had explicitly mentioned his father having a much more powerful eyes than him in his previous life...'

He clenched his hands and began absorbing with the black soul ring.

'No matter what it takes, I will become strong. I will take my vengeance. And I will. Become. A. God!' He closed his eyes as he created a 10 feet layered dome of ice around him for added protection.

Compared to that painful process of fusing with Ice Empress' torso soul bone, absorbing the Snow Deer King's soul ring only took a bit of time, an hour to be exact.

But it took another hour longer as the first golden seal in Huo Yuhao's spiritual sea finally broke apart and spread its pure spiritual origin to his Sharingan, strengthening it, his first soul ring; making its strength reach at least 5,000 years, and lastly his second soul ring; making it advance by a thousand years old, making it 13,000 years old!

A white puff of air exhaled out of Huo Yuhao's mouth, his body having undergone some changes.

Normally, a second soul ring wouldn't bring about any extraordinary changes to a soul master's body, but that was if they absorbed a optimal or lower level soul ring; strengthening their body and purifying a bit of their body as well.

But for Huo Yuhao, having absorbed a ten thousand year old soul ring for his second soul ring for his Sharingan and having absorbed the first seal, the benefits were great.

Now he was a few inches taller, his porcelain-like skin giving off a more healthier hue and his body appearing more toned and defined. His eyes, already a striking shade of crimson, green and gold, had become even more vibrant and seemed to glow with an inner fire. The mark of his Sharingan, the three comma-shaped tomoes, had also grown more pronounced and intricate.

Huo Yuhao slowly opened his eyes, his newly enhanced Sharingan scanning his surroundings with a newfound clarity. The world seemed to slow down as he took in every detail, every movement. The energies of heaven and earth of the world became visible to him, allowing him to see the flow and fluctuations of soul power and elemental energies.

A smile crept onto Huo Yuhao's face as he realized the power and potential of his newly acquired abilities. He stood up, feeling a surge of energy coursing through his veins.

White and black lights began to appear under his feet, forming into one white soul ring and one majestic black soul ring. The black soul ring gave off a chilling aura, like a lonely king.

Huo Yuhao felt so much soul power circulating throughout his body! Like a dam had been broken and he was now overflowing with power.

Huo Yuhao had more soul power than his peers, to the point that it had messed his meridians and caused his potential to get wasted. However, due to some pills and training, he managed to fix his meridians and have more access to his soul power.

Unfortunately however, due to his cultivation bottleneck, he could only siphon the outmost limit of his cultivation soul power from his dantian.

But thanks to fusing with the Ice Empress and finally attaining his second soul ring, Huo Yuhao has finally entered the Soul Grandmaster realm!

Not only that, as Skydream had previously estimated, the soul power that had been accumulating in his body still had so much that it brought him straight to rank 30!

"So, how do you feel?" Skydream asked, appearing in front of Huo Yuhao.

Huo Yuhao smiled, standing up, the ice dome around him dissipated simultaneously.

"Powerful." He replied.

"Well? What's your second ring skill? Is it like that Tsukuyomi ability?" Skydream excitedly asked.

Huo Yuhao smirked and turned his head, his eyes were cold.

"We'll find out soon. Because we've got a rude guest that's been hiding in the shadows for a while now."

"So you've noticed it as well, as expected." Skydream nodded proudly as it turned its head towards the same direction.

Huo Yuhao began to lightly stretched out his arms as he prepared himself for the upcoming confrontation. He could feel the presence of something watching him, a beast lurking in the shadows and waiting for the right moment to strike.

For it to be so cunning, it was certainly a powerful soul beast. But considering that Skydream wasn't worried and was even happy, there was a certain possibility that the soul beast that was hiding was suitable to become his third soul ring!

Huo Yuhao coldly smirked, his Sharingan glowing with determination. "Are you going to come out or not? Cause if not," he muttered under his breath.

"I'll just have to come force you out!"

With his newfound power and abilities, Huo Yuhao was ready to face any challenge that came his way.

AN: Hey Guys... This week, the previous week? These last couple of weeks is just... not it for me. I got sick for a few days, fucking hell that was painfully gruelling, and... my cat died. A few days ago.

Just... Fucking Hell. This is the third pet we've had died this year, all because some douchebag drivers can't be patient and drive carefully by our small road! I... I loved that cat, I loved all my pets.

I'm saying this now because I'm not gonna post anything next week, even in my other stoy. I'm gonna... grieve and sort out my thoughts for the week. It was because of my second's death that caused me to lose all motivation from writing the previous DD fanfic.

RIP to Gamay, my cat and asshole friend. RIP to Lexsus, my dog and best friend. RIP to Spike, the newest pup and... the greatest boy I've known for a while.
