15 Chapter 15
Chapter 15 — Devil's Offer.
The sky above was covered in dense black clouds as strokes of blue lightning appeared within the clouds.
Ning Chen stepped down the carriage and glanced at the sky while frowning deeply.
"It seems like it will rain soon," Ning Chen muttered while feeling unlucky.
He had after all just recently arrived at the nearest city where he could enter the Star Dou Forest.
Ning Chen paid the coachman of the carriage before glancing at the huge and sturdy wall infront of him.
This was the wall that separated the city from the Star Dou Forest.
Ning Chen looked at the large gate in the middle of the wall and saw many people walking through it.
There were also some members of the spirit hall patrolling around the area and guarding the large gate.
Ning Chen had heard about the many good deeds the spirit hall were providing around the world.
They provided free spirit awakening ceremony to many poor village, giving jobs to spirit master and many other things.
But despite all that good deeds, Ning Chen didn't trusted them completely.
Everything in this world had two sides after all.
The spirit hall might appear very nice on the the surface, but there was also a chance they could be rotten to their cores.
Ning Chen decided to trust the only things he had witness and believed.
He slowly walked toward the large gate leading toward the Star Dou Forest. He had once also crossed this gate in the past.
As Ning Chen was walking quietly, he suddenly bumped into a black-cloaked guy who was running hastily while holding a blue flower.
"I'm sorry," The black-cloaked guy bowed and apologized hoarsely.
He then quickly walked away, approaching a guy wearing green clothing who seems like his companion or something.
Ning Chen didn't cared about them and just quickly entered the Star Dou Forest. Acquiring his second spirit ring was his priority.
As he entered the vast forest, he didn't noticed that an unique fragrance appeared on his clothes after bumping with the black-cloaked guy.
The latter also didn't expected the fragrance to blend with Ning Chen's clothes.

"Damn! Why is this happening to me?" Ning Chen grumbled while running through the forest at his top speed.
He was currently reinforcing both of his legs and using all of his physical strength to run.
The reason was because of the twenty crimson wolfs with vicious appearance were chasing after him.
It was a pack of 1000 years old Blood Blossom Wolfs.
Ning Chen didn't wasted his time and energy to fight them because they weren't a target for his next spirit ring.
He would just exhaust himself out.
Ning Chen pondered on why those wolfs were chasing after him frantically despite not angering them.
He was travelling very stealthily and shouldn't have been noticed by them.
Ning Chen couldn't think of any reasons and just decided to hide in a safe and hidden area on the forest.
However, the crimson wolfs were able to find him in a few seconds despite hiding, causing him to hide in several spots, but they were still able to find him.
Ning Chen was frustrated as to why the crimson's wolfs were easily able to locate his hiding spot.
He also noticed the wolfs number vaguely increasing in numbers.
"Can they locate my position through their sharp nose?" Ning Chen wondered calmly.
He knew he didn't smelled heavily, but he decided to sniff his clothes before widening his eyes.
He was able to smell an intoxicating fragrance that didn't existed before on his clothes and he knew what exactly it was.
"This... Isn't this the wolf origin flower?" Ning Chen muttered with his face growing dark.
He had learned and studied countless herbs under Yu Qian and this flower was one of them.
But he didn't remembered making any contact with that flower.
Then the black-cloaked man who was carrying a flower quickly surfaced inside his mind.
"I think I got this fragrance after bumping into that man," Ning Chen muttered grimly.
He didn't knew if it was incidental or intentional, but he already had a bad feelings toward the man for bringing him some danger.
Ning Chen quickly took out his clothes and threw it to the ground without any hesitation.
He quickly escaped from the spot before the wolfs can find him.
Ning Chen changed into a new pair of clothing while also spraying some light perfume around his body to cover the remaining scent on his skin.
He then searched for a cave and found one after searching for several minutes. He started to recuperate both of his stamina and spirit power inside it.

Yun Feng was an insignificant rogue spirit master that didn't belong to any affiliation.
He was a rank 30 grandmaster with a beast-type spirit called Wind Demon Leopard.
Yun Feng had encountered a very powerful Azure White Wolf which was 1688 years old and it was also weakened due to recently giving birth to her child.
He had planned on killing the Azure White Wolf to make it as his third spirit ring, but the the wolf was very cautious and wouldn't leave the cave she was hiding.
If Yun Feng fought against the Azure White Wolf inside the cave, he thought he wouldn't able to win.
So he decided to buy an Origin Wolf Flower from the black market and had just recently received it from the seller.
The Origin Wolf Flower was able to release a fragrance that was very irresistible to every wolf species and it was also beneficial to them.
It could increase their strength and recover them to their peak condition.
Yun Feng thought that the Azure White Wolf wouldn't able to resist the temptation of the flower since she needed to return to her peak condition to properly protect her offspring without any partner.
And by using that chance, Yun Feng would ambush the Azure White Wolf and kill it without mercy.

Yun Feng's body was suddenly covered in green light. His body grew bigger and leaner with thick green furs covering his skin.
A metallic claws extended from the tips of his fingers as a furry green tail swirled around his back.
Yun Feng had summoned his spirit and then quickly hid inside a dense bush which was very near at the entrance of the cave.
Yun Feng also activated his first spirit ring ability—Wind Blessing. Making his presence dimmer and his speed to increase sharply.
This ability made him more harder to detect.
Yun Feng had already placed the flower on the cave entrance and it was very close to his current hiding spot.
After a many minutes of waiting, a large wolf covered in thick snow-like fur walked out from the the cave.
It's pair of bright azure eyes cautiously scanned the surrounding.
Sensing there was no one around it's location, the Azure White Wolf approached the flower which was slightly far-away from the cave entrance.
Yun Feng's eyes lit up seeing this and a dense amount of wind surrounded his whole body as his legs swelled up.
Swoosh!
He leaped forward to the air, his metallic claws threatening to slice the Azure White Wolf into pieces.
A green wind suddenly appeared around the Azure White Wolf's limbs and her large body suddenly faded away from her spot.
"What!?" Yun Feng's eyes widened in surprise before feeling a cold sensation spreading on his left arm.
As he turned his head around, what greeted his sight was a wide-opened mouth, filled with several razor-sharp teeth.
<2nd Spirit Ring Ability: Wind Demon's Shield>
The wind started to gather around Yun Feng's body to form a barrier, but It was too late.
The Azure Wolf had successfully managed to bite deeply into Yun Feng's left arm.
"Arghhh!!!" Yun Feng screamed loudly.
An intense amount of pain flooded his brain as he felt his left arm getting torn apart.
The Azure White Wolf tore apart the flesh of his left arm with her mouth before jumping away and stared at him in vigilance.
If she hadn't backed away in time, Yun Feng would have pierced her with his claw.
Yun Feng's eyes were bloodshot as he glared at the Azure White Wolf furiously.
"You're just a mere inferior species! How dare you injure me with your foul mouth!" Yun Feng spouted hatefully as he quickly pounced to the wolf, disregarding his own injuries.
A faint green wind appeared around the Azure White Wolf's limbs, but it appeared more weaker than before.
Yun Feng cackled seeing that and quickly mocked, "Kekeke... you're growing weaker, huh? Just don't resist and die!"
The Azure White Wolf was unfazed hearing that and just growled heavily.
Yu Feng snorted coldly and continued to charged toward the Azure White Wolf.
Wuu....
A faint and weak cry suddenly echoed inside the cave and a small wolf appeared at the cave entrance.
The large Azure White Wolf quickly flinched in surprised before roaring furiously at her child to go back inside.
Yun Feng grinned wickedly seeing that small wolf and an idea appeared in his mind.
His body was surrounded in wind again as he charged toward the small wolf instead.
The Azure White Wolf wasn't able to reach her child in time, Yun Feng had already held the small wolf with his right hand.
The edge of his claws cut the small wolf's skin, causing fresh blood to slowly pour out.
The small wolf struggled in fear, but couldn't get out of Yun Feng's grasp.
"I want to see your face filled with despair and horror as you watch me slowly torture your child," Yun Feng smiled coldly.
He wanted to break the Azure White Wolf's spirit to kill it more easily.
The Azure White Wolf was fuming with rage after hearing those words. Her azure eyes began to shine like a stars.
Her white fur stood up straightly as violent wind exploded from within her body.
The Azure White Wolf was extremely angry at Yun Feng for daring to harm her child.
She no longer held back and started burning her own lifeforce in order to shortly return to her peak condition.
The Azure White Wolf won't let anyone to hurt her own child even if it cost her own life.
She suddenly leaped forward, disappearing from Yun Feng's eyes.
Yun Feng saw the Azure White Wolf appearing infront of him. He wasn't able to react in time as the wolf slashed her claw at his right hand.
Drop...
Crimson blood poured out from his right hand, the small wolf falling toward the ground with a thud.
"You trash bastard!" Yun Feng was now blinded with rage and lost his ability to think.
The Azure White Wolf was about to pick up her child, but a wind barrier swiftly formed and pushed her away.
Yun Feng had combined both of his ability, making his wind barrier form more quicker and also sturdier.
Bam!
Yun Feng abruptly stomped his feet on the small wolf, causing the wolf to cry out in pain.
"Bastard! Bastard! How dare you hurt me again! I'll definitely kill your child and then you!" Yun Feng shouted furiously.
BAAM!
The Azure White Wolf started to strike the barrier with her claws as waves of anxiousness flooded her heart.
Thud!
Yun Feng continued to kick the small wolf harshly with all his might while laughing crazily.
Several cracking sounds echoed through the air.
The small wolf stopped crying in pain as it's white fur was dyed entirely in crimson blood.
However, Yun Feng didn't stopped kicking his feet at the small wolf. He vented all of his anger at the small wolf.
The Azure White Wolf grew more frantic and frustrated as she repeatedly smashed her own body again and again at the barrier.
She pushed her body to their breaking point repeatedly with blood leaking out from her entire body.
The Azure White Wolf didn't minded the immense pain she was currently feeling. The only thing she had in mind was to save her child.
Finally after bashing her own body at the barrier for several times, It shattered into pieces.
The Azure White Wolf quickly bite at Yun Feng's leg to stop him from kicking her child further.
"Ugh!!" Yun Feng finally stopped and instead started smashing his fist at the the Azure White Wolf's head.
The Azure White Wolf's head was in a mess with blood constantly pouring out from it, but she still didn't stopped attacking.
It's razor-sharp teeth tore Yun Feng's flesh apart and she then thrusted her claw toward his stomach for several times.
Yun Feng coughed a mouthful of blood, his face contorting disgustingly as pain flooded his every nerves.
He felt the situation was extremely dangerous and quicky threw the Azure White Wolf toward the ground heavily.
He then weakly flew away from spot and escaped into the distance.
The Azure White Wolf didn't follow after him and just quickly approached her child to check him.
She wailed sorrowfully, licking her child's face which was covered in blood.
The Azure White Wolf continued to lick with her tongue without stopping, but she couldn't receive a single response.
The small wolf just silently laid on the ground motionless. He wasn't breathing or warm anymore.
Her child was now dead and gone after just being born shortly into this world.
The Azure White Wolf couldn't protect her child in the end.
She lifted her head upward, staring silently at the dreary night sky.
Opening her mouth widely, she released a loud howl.
It was an extremely loud howl filled with unfathomable sadness.
The Azure White Wolf stopped howling and silently laid besides her child.
She was also dying after burning her own lifeforce which couldn't even save her child at the end.
But she was at least glad that she could die alongside her child and only had one regret within her heart.
It was revenge for the man who killed her child.
The Azure White Wolf laid weakly on the the cold ground, her breathing slowly growing weaker with each seconds.
Her eyes grew hazy and slowly sinking into an eternal darkness.
However, a small light appeared within this cold and lonely darkness.
A faint and soothing voice drifted into her ears.
It was like a devil making an offer to her with a price.
"Revenge... I will take revenge on your behalf. In exchange, become part of my power."
A dark silhouette appeared before her, holding a sword, but she couldn't see his appearance due to her vision growing more hazy.
Revenge....
The Azure White Wolf given the chance to take her revenge didn't no longer hesitated.
She accepted the Devil's Offer with her own soul as the payment.
"The Deal has been made."
That was the last few words she could hear as a sword pierced her chest, ending her life.
The Azure White Wolf's face before dying was very peaceful...

I don't know about this. I was at first just gonna have him gain the spirit ring the normal way, but I thought about writing some emotional scenes, but I don't know if I did this right.
