14 Chapter 14

Chapter 14 — Training (2)

Ning Chen trained very diligently everyday and Yu Qian repaid his effort by giving him some motivation and advise.

With his heart set on getting stronger, Ning Chen managed to complete the 'Avoid the 100 woods' training after one and a half month of training.

His basic footwork improved greatly as a result.

However, the next morning when Ning Chen decided to check the training tree, he suddenly saw the hanging woods increasing to 500 woods.

The woods varied in shape and size, but they were all very hard and would probably hurt a lot if it banged him somewhere on the body.

The difficulty rose greatly compared to before, but Ning Chen didn't complained and was just eager to overcome this new hurdle even if it takes him a long time.

With that in mind, Ning Chen started his training.

Ning Chen's training schedule wasn't only about the 'Avoid The Woods' training. He would only do this training in the early afternoon.

On the early morning, Ning Chen would meditate to sharpen his mind and then cultivate his spirit power that was slowly growing in rank.

After eating his lunch, Ning Chen would then strike his sword for a thousands times and then cultivate the second layer of the heart separation technique on the late morning.

On the late afternoon, Ning Chen would learn about medicinal knowledge under Yu Qian. He was hoping to be able to know many herbs and concoct some pills or medicinal bath in the future.

When it finally turned evening, Yu Qian would make Ning Chen wear some heavy iron vest and iron cuffs on his limbs, making Ning Chen feel like he was carrying a small mountain.

Under those heavy weights, Ning Chen was able to feel his bones, joints and muscles being strained to their limits.

Ning Chen would then run around the village while wearing those heavy weights and do many sets of push-up, sit-up, and squats to break his body and then heal it quickly with the medicinal bath, causing his body to grow stronger.

He would also occasionally continue his animal-training secretly with those weight and train under the river to strengthen his lungs.

Yu Qian only said the purpose of tempering his lungs would be revealed in the future.

Ning Chen was free from any training after it turned night. He could do anything he wanted, but he spent most of his time studying Yu Qian's book about human and beast anatomy, slowly learning about many things like the vital points and weak points of the body.

He would also contemplate about the future directions of Kel'al and he was able to form a vague design inside his mind.

Ning Chen's was busy everyday with his training, but he didn't dislike it since he was able to temporarily forget some of the things bothering him....

...

Two years later.

Time passed very quickly in the blink of an eye.

Ning Chen had already stayed at Yu Qian and Yu Liena's place for almost three years now.

Of course, he didn't wanted to be labeled as a freeloader and paid them monthly as a sign of his gratitude for taking care of him.

Yu Qian and Yu Liena didn't refused Ning Chen's money since turning him down might be rude.

Inside a forest, there were several loud swooshing sounds as countless hanging woods swung toward a young boy.

This young boy was Ning Chen who was now nine years old.

He was pretty tall for his age with both of his height and appearance looking nearly like an eleven years old boy.

Ning Chen's muscular frame also added a strong and mature look to his face.

It wasn't just his height and muscular frame that stood out. His skin turned light brown due to long exposure on the sunlight and his curly, glossy pink hair now reaching into his shoulder, making him look very handsome.

Ning Chen was also currently wearing a loose training black robes that couldn't hide his perfectly sculpted and well-proportioned muscles that held a terrifying explosive power.

After a two years of training, his physical strength, spirit power, mental power, reflex, endurance—His entire being underwent a drastic changes.

Even Ning Chen himself didn't know how strong he was currently because he didn't have enough time to test his strength.

Ning Chen's calm gaze swept over the 900 incoming woods and took a deep breath to prepare himself.

If one looked closely at the place he was standing, it wasn't actually the ground, but a long wooden pole.

There were also many wooden poles around him placed in a strange manner and were all firmly rooted on the ground.

The 900 woods quickly swarmed toward Ning Chen's entire direction like fierce waves, but he didn't panicked at all.

There was a serene aura around him as he started to avoid every incoming woods with a simple yet graceful footwork.

Although he was stepping and jumping on the small wooden poles from time to time, he wasn't losing any balance and just skillfully avoided all of the woods.

Finally after several minutes had gone by, the woods lose it's strength and stopped swinging around the area.

Ning Chen stood on the wooden pole while sweating profusely.

He had managed to avoid every single woods without letting it leave a single graze at him at the cost of consuming a large amount of physical and mental stamina.

Thankfully, he managed to master the second stage of the heart separation technique which greatly helped him as it increased his mental power and allowed him to focus on two different things.

Clap! Clap!

Suddenly a loud clapping sounds drifted to his ears, snapping him out from his thoughts.

"Ning Chen, congratulations! You finally managed to complete it!' Yu Liena said with a small smile.

She could only thought that Ning Chen avoiding all the woods was quite cool and graceful.

"Hahaha! Your footwork now reached reached the advance level!" Yu Qian said while feeling very happy.

He after all had seen Ning Chen's dedication to reach this level.

"Thanks," Ning Chen smiled brightly as he felt his chest getting warm.

The two people infront of him were the one who supported him through these two years whenever he got frustrated, sorrowful, and depressed at his training and life.

'Why is his smile so bright!?? It's blinding my eyes!" Yu Liena quickly turned her head away after seeing Ning Chen's extremely bright smile.

She couldn't help, but wonder why his smile could be so bright enough to blind people.

"Now that you have completed your second foundation training, do you wanna acquire your next spirit ring now?" Yu Qian asked carefully.

He knows that Ning Chen had already reached rank 20 and just needed a new spirit ring to advance further.

Ning Chen quickly shook his head, "I will try to get it tomorrow since I'm already exhausted."

"A wise decision! Let's celebrate your success in training first then," Yu Qian said before looking at Yu Liena. "Please prepare a small feast."

Yu Liena nodded and helplessly accepted, "I will prepare it soon."

Ning Chen suddenly felt energetic after hearing those words.

The three of them soon went back at the house and started to have their little feast.

Although not was only the three of them, Ning Chen was satisfied enough to spent the time with his master and Yu Liena.

It soon turned night time; Ning Chen went to the backyard and sat leisurely underneath the tree which he always found very comfortable.

He took out a flute which looked very expensive from his coiling dragon spatial ring.

Ning Chen started to play the flute with a longing eyes.

A wonderful sound resounded through the air which was very pleasant to the ears. However, hidden within those wonderful sounds was a deep emotion that longed for his family.

Ning Chen was missing his parents and sister, but he could only return at the date his parents said or a problem might occur.

He could only release his feelings through the flute and play the song that his parents first taught him.

Yu Liena looked through the window which had a view of the backyard and glanced silently at Ning Chen.

She was already used to seeing him play the flute at night and she liked hearing it because it calmed her heart.

But she wondered why there was a very deep and murky feelings to those beautiful sounds.

Ning Chen noticed Yu Liena's gaze and looked toward her face.

A small smile formed on his face as he saw the most beautiful smile to ever existed.

He continued to play the flute with all of his best and soul.

Ning Chen wasn't very talented when it comes to playing musical instruments, but he wanted to at least let her hear him play to flute while pouring all of his feelings to it.

On that dark and cold night, there was a young boy who played his flute to his best and a young girl who listened very carefully to each sounds.

...

I think I rushed this, but it is what it is.

Also I don't know much about flute so forgive me if I happened to anger some people.
