3 Chapter 3: Uncle Black and the first Spirit Ring

"I am Heilong Leiyu." He said loudly, he did that in order to convince everyone present of his existence. And while this was true, in the first place the most who needed to acknowledge this was Leiyu himself. He was no longer a member of a clan he was now a boy with a new name and a new fate.

Although he understood that just fine, nevertheless he was only six... his heart still suffered from pain and rage. From this day, no... from the moment his martial soul awakened he was no longer a hunter of the Beast Slaying Clan he is...

'A beast. For all of you I was only a beast huh... Fine. I will become a beast that even you Soul Beast hunters will be unable to stop.' as he thought this...

His right hand that was bleeding until now silently stopped to do so, his black shining scales glittered in the night, the only strange thing was that although Laiyu's wrist bleeded, the scales were untainted by the blood as if nothing ever fell on them. And then the scales shone once and disappeared, after that his sword in his left hand vanished in a dark mist.

Leiyu looked at the silver girl before her and then...

*BANG!* he colloapsed to the ground, his face in pain, his body sweeting and shivering, his breath ragged. Seeing this the black dragon in the sky turned into the man from before, the next instant he was already standing next to Leiyu.

Seeing him he couldn't stop from saing: "Foolinsh boy, and after I just warned you not to use the power of your bloodline because it will destroy you."

Leiyu didn't answer, with gritted teeth and trembling limbs he managed to get up in a half standing position with difficulty and said:

"I... don't have anyt...hing..., only my... blood and... soul... If I can't... offer at least th..at to the ...Lord what... use do I... have...?"

Seeing the glitter in the boy's eyes the black robed man's gaze turned sharp

"Boy you..." but before he could say anything else...

"Di Tian. Give him a drop of your blood." the silver haired girl said without emotions

Hearing this Di Tian's eyes opened whide

"Your Majesty... if I do that I fear the kid will..."

She interupted him once again, but this time her voice was ice cold

"Die. So what? He's offering me his everything if he can't survive at least this then he was usless to me from the begining."

"I understand..." with this he turned to Leiyu, then with a wave of his hand he cut his wrist and after only a drop of blood fell from the cut the wound closed in an instant. The drop of blood was levitating before him, he was holding it with his soul power, then he said to Leiyu.

"Kid, this drop of blood is the purest blood of the Dragon bloodline, the only expectation is her Majesty who has the highest blood of all. If you dring my blood then it will refine your own, in the end, after the blood refinement your Golden-Eyed Black Dragon King's Martial Soul should awaken, then you can be truly usefull to her Majesty. But I warn you about two things: First. Humans can't bear the energy of this blood, when in the near of it let alone drinking it, even a single drop is enough to make a normal Title Douluo lose all his strenght. But you have my bloodline although not pure it is still the same blood, maybe you will be able to bear it, but one thing is sure you will suffer immense pain in the process. And second, even if you do refine your bloodline then know this, afterwards after you use the power of the bloodline or martial soul you will suffer from a backslash from time to time, as you cultivate to a higher rank the pain will get only stronger. Those attacks will continue until you gain at least the sevent soul ring of the Golden-Eyed Black Dragon King Martial Soul." Leiyu only listened carefully as the black robed man before him explained

"Because you carry my bloodline I give you a choice: suffer from pain and then most likely you die from trying, or I grand you a quick death. Kid, choose."

Did Leiyu even need to choose? From the begining he had already his answer

"I'll drink it." he suffered already enough pain how could he fear more at this point, he was abandoned by those he called family by the most cruelest way possible, how could he not wish for power for revenge. But what made him choice this in the end were the girl's words, she was right after all, if he couldn't endure at least this then what use did he have?

The drop of blood floating towards him, Leiyu swallowed it withouth the slightest hesitation. After a moment he said:

"I don't feel anything. Nothing is happening." just as those words leaved his mouth...

Leiyu's face exploded, athough not literally, from the side it looked just like that. From his ears, eyes, nose and mouth blood bursted out. The next instant he fell to the ground once again, from his pores torrents of blood gushed out in waves, the blood inside of his veins pirced trough his skin and muscles. Then something unbelievable happened, at those places where he bleed the wound healed.

Only this was just the begining, just as the wound began to heal, now another places of his body bursted out blood like before. Then those began to heal as well, only... the places that healed already once again exploded.

Immense pain assoulted Leiyu's mind, he wanted to cry out in pain, only he couldn't. The pain he felt was so great that even his voice vanished.

He was currently inside a circle of healing and wounding. Why something like this happened Laiyu didn't know. But how could the others beside him not know?

Although Leiyu had a potent bloodline, his body was nevertheless only a human one, moreover a childs. His body was unable to endure his raging blood. That's why he was wounded over and over again, but because of that same bloodline his wounds healed under it's influence. The result was the scene before us.

Leiyu's blood raged like fire, his body on the other hand was cold as ice. Under the constant refinement of the "fire and ice" Lieyu silently suffered

From his side the black robed man said: "Kid endure it! If you fail to do so and faint then the result will be death and even if not you will lose your mind. So endure, if you wish to live then endure!"

Although he said this, Leiyu couldn't hear him.

With his last bit of reason, Leiyu bite his lip in hope to distract him even a little. But of couse the result was none, he felt pain, only it came from all over the body, his mind didn't even register that bite of his.

Seeing the reaction of Leiyu, the silver haired girl turned around and said couldly: "So you are useless after all..." with these words she took a step towards the lake...

Leiyu on the other hand didn't even notice this, after every second his consciousness became heavier and heavier, his mind darker and darker.

As everything around him turned black he felt as he was standing somewhere in the middle of nowhere.

Then suddenly he felt strange, as if he was hugged by someone, as he focused at that feeling a shining figure apeared before him. Long black hair, crystal clear black eyes, lond eyelashes a face similar to his own.

Thats right. The one who hugged Leiyu was her mother, tears flowed down his face the moment he saw her. He wanted to hug her back, cry out and say something but he couldn't his words died in his throat. After what seemed to be a few seconds his mother released him, when he saw her expression tears rolled down his face even stronger, she had a sad expression on her face.

With that same expression she patted Laiyu's head, then she turned around and walked away...

Of course Leiyu tried to run after her, only he couldn't. His feets didn't move no mater how he tried...

At that moment he remembered, he remembered what happened to him and her mother and what he was currently doing...

'That's right... I can't give up, not now... For the one who give me my life, for the one who saved my life when I was dying, for the one who give my live a new meaning... How can I die without even repaying them?!' he shouted in his mind. Laiyu refused to die without meaning, he refused to die without use... but what he refused the most was to die without paying back those bastards that took everything from him.

With those feelings, with those determination he forced himself to act...

"ROOOOOOOAAAAAAARRRRR!" A thunderous roar erupted from his mouth, it was so loud that it echoed in the whole forest. With that dragons roar, Laiyu stood up slowly.

Under that roar his blood raged violently, his wounds healed and black scales appeared on his right arm. After hours of suffering his true Martial Soul finally awoke, it was exactly at this moment that Leiyu truly reborn. He reborned as a beast, a dragon and as a king.

Everyone present, expect the silver girl and the black robed man, everyone else trembled once. But not out of fear, they were after all a whole lot stronger than Leiyu. They trembled from excitement,

the excitment one felt before a new beging...

When the girl in silver took her third steps forward, it was that moment when Leiyu began his roar. But after hearing Leiyu she abruptly turned around, her face painted with shock, she couldn't help from muttering "This is not possible..." .

She of course knew how potent her servants blood was, after all he was someone who could become a divine beast in the future. Let alone a human, even if there was another dragon from his bloodline still alive... that one would still die after drinking his blood...

With a wave of her hand she said "Next? What can you do when you are barely standing? Sleep, we will talk tomorrow."

When he heard this, Leiyu's mind finally relaxed. After exhausting himself like that it was no wonder that he did that. Only that came with a price.

He fell to the ground once again, only this time he fell because he was already asleep.

"How is his condition?" the silver haired girl asked Di Tian just after Leiyu fell to the ground.

"He's fine, he only fell asleep..." she of course knew this much, what interested her was something else entirely..., did the boy before her truly successfully refined his blood or not. She could get her answer even without someone's assistance with her powers, but the child and Di Tian had the same blood in a sence so he understood his situation the best.

Before he told anything else to her Majesty, Di Tian signaled to Bi Ji who was besides them to take Leiyu away. He did that not because he was worried about him, it was because he didn't want him to hear they conversation even if he was fast asleep.

After that he turned to her Majesty once again and said with a astonished voice:

"It was a success, his Golden-Eyed Black Dragon King's Martial Soul awoke under the influence of my blood, only..." he paused for a moment before continuing

"It's as I feared, after being tainted by countless generations of human blood his bloodline wasn't able to be fully purified even with my blood. Although he can use the Black Dragon King's Martial Soul now, it's power is limited. To get it's full strenght, he will need even purer dragon blood in order to fully remove the impurities."

The silver haired girl listened silently as she looked towards the direction Leiyu was taken.

"There is one more issue your Majesty, what should we do about his Soul Ring?"

Silence.

The girl was silent for a few moments before she asked?

"Di Tian, do you remember how that human 10,000 years ago got his power?"

"Of course. How could I forget..."

"Good. What humans could do, we will as well. We shall use a similar method." as she said this she walked towards the lake behind her.

"Attach a part of your consciousness to his Martial Soul. This way he won't get true Spirit Rings, neither will he break through the 10 rank so simply, but you will be able to instruct him from a distance."

And that was not all, using this method he could appear before Leiyu in emergencies, but what's more important, this was not a fusion so Di Tian could any moment sever this link between them at any moment... of course not without a price...

At this moment the silver haired girl flew up without a sound and appeared above the lakes middle, the next instant she entered the lake without stirring up any waves from it. Then a voice came from within that lake and said:

"Di Tian, remember. No matter what, he is a human. They are two-faced and selfish...

Although I could not detect any lies from his words or heart, we can't trust him so simply...

So observe him for now, and if there is even a slight moment he thinks to go agains me, simply remove your consciousness from his Martial Soul."

With a nod Di Tian stood up and walked away...

And although the girls words were simple the meaning was not. To sever the link between them came with a price, it was nothing to them, on the other side if that truly happened Leiyu would pay a heavy price.

It would be like a forcefull removal of spirit rings, when that happens the martial soul won't be able to witstand that and would explode.

It doesn't even need to be asked what the result of that is, right?

After all the answer is simple... it is a simple death without any chance of survival.

Morning. When Leiyu woke up he immediately felt as if he was reborn. He felt as if his strenght of his bones, muscles, meridians and blood at the very least all doubled if not tripled or maybe even more. But the changes were not only limited to his physical strenght, his mind, sight, hearing and smell were as well.

Weither it came from his awakening from his second Martial Soul or if it came from the first, he didn't know...

After all he didn't have the chance or the possibility to try them out after the awakening ceremony.

And even if he could, he was at the time both mentally and physically drained.

If before the ceremony he was a young swordsman, then now he truly felt as if he had the senses of a beast.

"Oh, you're up already." As Leiyu was slowly studying the chenges in his body, a gentle voice from the side got his attention. When he looked towards the owner of the voice he saw a beautiful woman who had green jade like hair, from her looks alone she was in her young thirties at the most.

The moment Leiyu saw her something in his mind clicked, the next instant he jumped up and bowed his head to the woman.

"Thank you." He said only this few words

When she heard this she stared blankly for a moment before asking: "Little boy, why are you thanking me for?"

"I'm sorry I don't know how to call you... but even though my vision at the time was blurry, nevertheless from a very young age I learned how to differentiate others from their aura alone." What Leiyu said was not wrong, the aura, or to be more precise the soul power of every living creature ware like fingerprints, no one had the same one. And in 'That' place this was one of the things that they taught...

"So I am sure the one who saved me at the time was you... Weither it was a coincidence or not I was saved because of you... So thank you, um..."

His cheeks turned red almost instantly, Laiyu then asked embarrassed

"Big Sister Ji, why am I...?"

"You're clothes were torn and cut up, here, take this for now and follow me. The Lord and her Majesty told me to bring you to them after you woke up." she handed Leiyu a simple robe for now.

As he took it, he quickly wore them and after that Laiyu followed after Bi Ji.

Once again, Leiyu was taken to the same Lake he was yesterday. Only this time onther than the black robed man no one was there.

After she brought Leiyu here, Bi Ji bowed to the man once, after that she turned around and walked away.

Without saying anything the man turned to the lake and knelt before it. Compared to last time, Leiyu now knew what was about to happen, so he quickly did the same and knelt down. Just as it happened the last time, the silver haired girl appeared the same way as before.

After that with a calm, yet imposing voice that contained a formless pressure she said to Leiyu.

"Boy. You swore your allegiance to me, do you understand what it means to serwe under me?" a purple light shine in her eyes, the same instant Leiyu felt a intense pressure, his blood trembled in fear, his mind on the other side felt excitement 'This is strength! True, undeniable and tyrannical strenght! If I can serwe under someone like that, who can say that I won't be able to reach towards the night sky!?' with this thought Leiyu only nod once, then said.

"The Lord gave my life a new meaning, I can only fulfill my lords wishes or die trying."

"Fine." she said siply. At the same time the pressure Leiyu felt vanished without a trace.

"Go and get yourself a Spirit Ring, I don't care how you do it, but other than some siple suggestion don't expect our help."

"Of course. Only, how will I be able to ask something if I'm alone?"

"Don't worry about that, Di Tian." after hearing his name, he turned to Leiyu and explained what they were about to do, and how that would influence his cultivation. When he finished the silver haired girl asked

"Do you agree to this method or not?" Leiyu answered without any hesitation

"I agree!" hearing this the girl narrowed her eyes in disdain, she thought: 'A child is still only a child, he doesn't fully understand the consequences.'

But was that truly the case?

The answer was of course a no. Although it's true that Leiyu is still only a child, he is nevertheless a very mature one because of his training. He understood the things they told him just fine. And that was the main reason why he agreed without a second thought.

For them to trust Leiyu, a human, was the same as if Leiyu would trust someone from his former clan after everything they done.

And he knew thet he wouldn't be able to do so, that's why he felt grateful for the trust they gave him.

Besides, would Leiyu lose anything if he used that method they told him? No. On the opposite, as long as he wouldn't betray their trust he would only benefit from it. In the first place the thought of betrayal never even crossed Leiyu's mind, so what would he need to fear?

"Do you understand what are you agreeing to?"

"If you wanted me dead, I would be alrady a corpse a long time ago. Compared to humans, there is no need, or meaning for you to use any trickery or cruel methods to kill me... Lord, as long as I can have my revange and be of use to you, I don't care if I would die a thousend times over."

"You heard him." the girl said to Di Tian when she saw the sincerity in Leiyu's eyes.

With a simple nod Di Tian turned towards Leiyu, then without warning he grabbed his shoulders and placed his forehead agaist Leiyu's, after a few or so seconds Di Tian released Leiyu and stood up.

Leiyu couldn't stop himself from asking "Is it done?" only his question was answered in a unexpected way.

'Of course!'

"Wha-!?" Leiyu suddenly cried out. As he heard a voice echo in his head, surprissed he looked at Di Tian

'This way a part of my consciousness is now bond with your martial soul, as long as you concentrate you will be able to talk to me. And of course the other way around as well. Now go and get yourself a spirit ring, her Majesty will send you out of this place just tell us where you want to go.'

After thinking for a few minutes, Leiyu then said

"Lord, I wish to go to Heaven Dou City's Spirit Pagoda. Is it possible to get there?"

"Are you sure about that?" she asked this, after all when they found Leiyu he was near Heaven Dou City. And that meant he wanted to go back to the pleace where he almost died not so long ago. She couldn't help but wonder, what was this child before her thinking.

In the end, she decided to not ask any questions and see it for herself instead.

Then with a wave of her hand, Leiyu vanished from the place he stood just a moment ago.

"How did I...?" he asked while astonishment painted his face, it took him a few seconds to register his environment. After all, just now he was inside a forest, but now, no matter where he looked he found himself in some sort of alley.

Although Leiyu didn't know where exactly he is, but one thing is for sure, he is somewhere inside Haven Dou City. Leiyu recognised a few buildings he saw in the distance, because Haven Dou City isn't far from that "place" so he was here a few times before.

He grabbed a amulet that was hanging around his neck from under his robes, when he saw it, hatred engulfed his mind, his hand that was holding the pendant trembled in rage. Leiyu gripped that amulet as if he wanted to crush it with his own hands, only he didn't...

Instead he took a minute to calm himself, after that he took some deep breaths as if he was preparing himself, and then he headed towards the Spirit Pagoda.

Although Leiyu didn't know where he is, it isn't difficult to find the Spirit Pagoda in this city, after all Haven Dou City is a Historical place, bacause of that, only a handful of buildings are tall, the Spirit Pagoda is one of them. Even now, Leiyu could see the tall pagoda from a distance so he quicly made his way towards it.

After half a hour of walking Leiyu finally arrived at the Spirit Pagoda. Of course he could get there sooner if he runned instead of walking, but he escaped that place only two days ago, most likely there are some members who are searching him in this city, and even if there aren't Leiyu won't risk it just yet. Thats why he made his way here as ordinarily as he could.

When he saw the entrance to the Spirit Pagoda Leiyu couldn't stop himself from cursing. Countless people were entering and exiting from that place. Putting aside the fact that anyone would be annoyed if they needed to wait for too long...

Leiyu now didn't have any trust towards humans, it is not a exaggeration if he says that he feels only contempt towards them after all what happened to him. In the end the biggest grudges and other emotions comes from childhood.

But all this wasn't really important to Leiyu, he still needed to come here whether he likes it or not.

So he entered the place and looked around. He was a little lost as he did so, it's true that he was in the city before but it's the first time he came to the Spirit Pagoda. One needs to remenber that he is still only a 6 years old kid! It's no wonder he felt lost. But luck was on Leiyu's side, as he pondered where to go next, one of the staff member approached him. She was a young girl between 15-20 years old. If not for the uniform she was wearing then no one would believe she was a member of the Spirit Pagoda... only thats beside the point now...

She approached Leiyu and said with a smile.

"Little brother can I help you? Are you lost?"

Leiyu didn't answer her, he only shook his head in denial.

"No? Then did you come to awaken your Martial Soul? Too bad you came a little too late..." It's no wonder she asked Leiyu this, he is too young after all. And why is it late? It's simple, usually the Spirit Pagoda performs the awakening ceremony once a year and every children that are already 6 can participate. But what about the ones who become six years old a month or leater after the ceremony? They need to wait until that fated day comes again, of course not everone can wait so long, and thats because the sooner one awakens their Martial Soul the sooner he can begin to cultivate. Thats why, if requested the Spirit Pagoda will performe an individual ceremony, of course for a little charge.

Leiyu's expression turned cold for a moment when he heard the words 'Awakening Ceremony' but he changed back to normal the next moment.

This time he couldn't get away with a simple gesture so he answered

"No, I came to get a Spirit Soul."

"I see a Spirit Soul, then please follow me." she said mechanically but then she widened her eyes in disbelief.

"Spirit Soul? Little brother you got something wrong, you only need a Spirit Soul when you reach Rank 10 you're too young for that!"

once again Leiyu shook his head, then said

"Don't worry big sister, I am Rank 10. I trouble you to take this to your superior." he took of the amulet he was wearing and give it to the staff member.

"This is..?" she asked confused

"They should know what this is." she was still confused, but she still did what Leiyu asked her to do. After taking the amulet she said a siple "Please wait for a moment." after that she turned around and left.

At this moment Leiyu heard someone asking him

"What was that amulet? It had a strange form, and I could sense hatred from you when you gripped it before."

He was suprised, he almost shouted out: "Uncle Di Tian!"

Yes. The one who asked Leiyu something was Di Tian, the Golden Eyed Black Dragon King. Of course he wasn't here, the voice came from inside Leiyu's head and he was the only one who could hear it.

He wasn't used to this yet so he was suprised. But he still answered respectfully, in Leiyu's heart he was like a uncle already, even thought he didn't say that out loud.

"It has a unusual heptagram shape and there is a carving of a dragons head pierced by a sword..." Leiyu paused for a second then continued

"That's the logo of the Beast Slaying Clan! I was angry because I didn't want to use that, but I don't have any choice for now."

"...And why is that?"

"I need to get stronger so that I can be even a little usefull to my Lord and the fastest way to do so is to get my first soul ring! Only there is one problem..."

"...I don't have any money to pay for a spirit soul... thats why I'm forced to use that amulet to get myself one."

"I see, it's the privilege of that place isn't it? But why would the Spirit Pagoda support them for free like this?"

"There is nothing free in the world, especially in this case, this 'benefits' came from the lifes of countless soul beasts! Mr. Di Tian, after many years of research the Spirit Pagoda can create artificial spirit souls, but to get this knowledge they needed soul beast to experiment on. As he listened to Leiyu, the Beast God Di Tian became furious, an angry dragons roar sounded in Leiyu's head. If not for the bloodline of the Golden Eyed Black Dragon King he would have already colapsed at the very least.

"Those despicable Humans! They will pay for this wit their lifes!" the Beast God roared angrily

Before Leiyu could answer him, this time someone said to him from the front "Boy, are you the one my subordinate talked about?"

Only at this moment did Leiyu realise that the staff girl has returned, together with her came a middle aged man. Before turning his attention towards them he thought this 'I may not fully understand how all of you feel, but Uncle, I do know the pain of losing someone...'

But there is one thing that Leiyu didn't know yet, and that was that all the words he just thought about was heard by Di Tian, this was the first sentence that made him trust Leiyu a little more...

Leiyu just nod once to the man's question. He in return just smiled and said

"Good you are indeed young but I can sense that your spirit power is at rank 10! My name is Mo Jun I'm one of the few people responsible for the spirit souls distribution and their accounting after they fuse whit a Spirit Master, now come follow me, before the Spirit Pagoda can give you your first spirit soul you need to take a few tests. But don't worry they are very simple. There is no need to feel anxious." after saying this, the man turned around and left. Leiyu and the staff girl followed right after him.

The room he brought Heilong Leiyu into was brimming with modern technological apparatuses.

Mo Jun stopped in the middle of the room and asked Leiyu

"Little boy, show me your Martial Soul, usually this is not needed but you need to understand that we need to make sure that you are from the Beast Slaying Clan."

Leiyu frowned but didn't say anything, he swinged his left hand in an arc and made a grabbing action, at that moment black mist began to swirl from his hand and dragon roars could be heard from inside of it, a pitch black sword darker that the night materialized itself from thin air.

When Mo Jun saw the sword his eyes sparked

"T-this is!? A Dragon Slaying Sword!? Boy which Rank was your sword when it awoke?"

Leiyu narrowed his eyes, he understood that this man before him was not so simple as he seemed to be if he knew about this secret.

Leiyu would be a fool if he told him the truth, besides after Leiyu's Martials Soul was influenced by his bloodline, it's not realy accurate to call his martial soul a Dragon Slaying Sword anymore. From now on he decides to name his martial soul the Doom Slaughter Sword!

And to not make things more comlicated he answered only with a simple "Purple." Once again Mo Jun's eyes began spark, after all a purple ranked martial soul was very rare, but before he could ask anything else, Leiyu asked him

"Can I get my Spirit now?" only after his words Mo Jun realise that he still had a job to do.

"Of course you can! But before that we still need to test your spiritual power." Mo Jun said this and gestured for Leiyu to sit down on a metal chair before he asked. "Do you know why we test spiritual power?"

Leiyu noded with his head once.

"You are from that palce after all, good so I'll skip the explanation then. I'll start then, don't worry, you just need to stay relexad." Mo Jun made the necessary preparations, only after that did he start.

He watched from the side on a screen the data that the apparatus collected, the data it showed were in the form of numbers.

When the numbers first appeared, they jumped up extremely quickly. After a moment, the numbers didn't show any sight of stopping. When Mo Jun saw this his expression changed to one of astonishment.

Only the display didn't care about that, the numbers still continued to increase. Only after another moment did the numbers gradually stabilize. After a while the numbers stopped increasing and settled within a range.

When Mo Jun saw the number on the screen that displayed he was petrified.

The staff girl that came with them stopped the apparatus and helped Leiyu to get out of it.

Leiyu was dizzy for a second, but he soon stabilised himself, what he saw was the petrified Mo Jun.

He approached him and saw the display, when he saw it he was frightened, he muttered quitly

"...87."

This shooked Mo Jun out of his petrified state, he grabbed the screen with both hands and shoutet

"Spirit Origin realm advenced rank! A Spirit Scholar with rank 87 mental power how is that possible?!" this question was of course pointed to Leiyu.

Only he himself did't understand it. Although he dosn't know everything, he has some understandig aput this test, even spiritual type spirit masters don't have such a number at the beginig, so how come he has such a result?

Just as he began to panic Leiyu heard a voice in his head once again

"Kid calm down! Why are you surprised? Did you forget who you are? You have the same bloodline as I, the Golden Eyed Black Dragon Kings bloodline! Almost no one can compare with us! Besides a part of my consciousness is imprinted in your Martial Soul so this number you got is no surprise!"

Yes! How could he forget that! After he heard this he realised that he has many things he has to learn.

"Who knows?" was Leiyu's answer

"Hahh, fine. Lets think about it leater, for now let's get yourself a spirit soul, with that result you can fuse with even a 400 years old spirit."

This time he took Leiyu to a room that had many sphere shaped metal balls on the wall, the wall was roughly 10-20 cm in diamater, some of them glowed with a white color and other ones that were yellow, inside of them were different things but all of them had one thing that was identikal with all others, all of them were weapons! Spears, Bows, Swords, Axes, Hammers and others were inside of those metal sphares.

"Which weapon can you use the best?" asked Mo Jun from Leiyu

He of course answered without any hesitation at all "The Sword!"

This question may have seemed to be out of place, only that was not the case.

The Martial Soul of the people from that "Place" is a sword, but just because everyone had a sword as a martial soul that didn't mean everyone had talent in swordsmanship, besides they are a clan of hunter. To use only a sword during a hunt isn't easy at all. That's why after many years of studying they learned what Soul Beast they needed for their first soul ring to get a skill that could temporarily change the appearance of their weapon. And after the appearence of spirit soul that became a lot easier, humans only needed to fuse with a weapon type spirit soul to get that soul skill. Of course, the only expectation would be the sword, if they fused with a sword spirit soul they would of course get another soul skill, in most cases a offensive one or a buffing one.

When Mo Jun heard Leiyu's words he smiled once before turning towards the metal sphares and looking trough them. After a whille he took one of them and then he give it to Leiyu

"For the help the Spirit Pagoda received from your Clan, it was dicided that we will give the first spirit soul for the mambers of your clan for free, moreover it would be a spirit close to the limit that one could currently bear. This spirit soul is the strongest one we have, it has more than 300 years of cultivation nearing the limit one can bear for the first soul ring, here take it it's yours now. You can fuse with it after you get home."

Leiyu took the sword spirit that was still in a metal spare, but he didn't leave, he did something unexpected and strange, he sat down cross legged and summoned his Doom Slaughter Sword and the spirit sword he just recaived.

"Boy are you trying to fuse with it here!?"

Of course Leiyu didn't want to do that, if something he wanted to get away from here as fast as he could! Only he couldn't do that! The instant he took that sphare in his hand he felt something was wrong, his blood began to boil.

Leiyu was confused, he didn't understand why that wappaned, but that was the reason why he made the decission to try and fuse with the spirit as soon as possible. Even if something went wrong, who understood spirit souls better than the Spirit Pagoda?

That is why he began to fuse it with his Martial Soul But something strange happened the moment the sword touched the spirit, an angry dragons roar came from the Doom Slaugter Sword, as the roar sounded the spirit was send flying, it quickly colided with the walls and fell to the groung, what happened next shocked everyone, the spirit soul disintegrated into dust and vanished just like that.

The staff girl that came with them asked after this

"Master Mo what just happened? I never saw something like that!"

"A Martial Soul rejection!? How can that be?!" he exclaimed loudly, after that he explained the question after he realised that none of them knew what that is

"Generally speaking, a martial soul can be anything right? So depending on what ones martial soul is, it may or may not have spirits, soul beast or other thing that are compatible with them. But no matter what someones martial soul was, in theory a martial soul can fuse with anything. To make a example: If someone had a cat as their martial soult then another cat type spirit or soul beast would be the most compatible with them, but that doesn't mean that the same spirit master can't fuse with a let's say a turtle. Althought they aren't compatible a fusion can still occure. The fusion would be more difficult and dangerous, but it's not impossible." he now turned towards Leiyu and continued

"But what just now happened was entirely different! This is werry rare, it's the firs time I saw something like that! A Martial Soul rejection, this happens when a martial soul refuses to fuse with something no matter if they are compatible or not, the martial soul would simply reject almost everything when the user tries to fuse with something."

"But master Mo, doest that mean that this little brother wont be able to become a spirit master?"

Mo Jun shook his head then said

"No. That's not the case. He can still find another spirit and fuse with it... only that will be extremely difficult to do. It's a situation where a divine beast could swallow a cat but he refuses to do so because there is no benefits in doing that. Little Boy as I see things your Dragon Slaying Sword mutated, and its a very strong mutation at that, but it came with a havy price. We can find you another spirit soul to try to fuse with. Only I need to warn you, the Spirit Pagoda can only gift you one spirit soul, what we already did, for the next ones you will need to pay."

"What?! This isn't fair! Master Mo, don't bully this little brother of mine! He has it difficult even without you!" protested angrily the girl

"Shut up! Do you think I like this?! It's the rules I can't go agains them!"

"But..!"

As the two of them argued like that, Leiyu was silently thinking about something. After a while...

"Mr. Mo..."

"Yes?"

"...I..." Leiyu hasitated somewhat, but that didn't last long. He still had a ace in his sleeve. To get the first spirit soul for free was one of the benefits he could use with the amulet he showed them, there was still one thing he could use it for and that was...
