16 - Trade

Sitting behind the desk the receptionist was stunned and didn't know what to say. She looked at the pair with astonishment.

Coldin his skin started to feel itchy from the receptionist looking at him but not knowing what it was he simply said "miss? Can we get a spirit soul for my brother?"

Hearing the question, the receptionist looked up at Coldin to see his face. Short white hair atop his head, eyes of blue, his jawline clearly visible, a long nose and sharp eyes and eyebrows giving him a fierce look but at the same time a handsomeness only seen in few.

Once again the receptionist didn't say anything. Noticing his colleague not moving a male receptionist took over "if you would like to follow me I'll lead you to the spirit soul selection room"

Both the pair nodded at the man and followed as he lead the way. Coldin was stunned by the buildings noble interior design and looked all around as they walked.

Finally they came to a door leading to another room and after seeing the door Coldin's face was like thunder, once again it was to small for him which in turn meant getting on his knees to walk through it.

Once inside the man said "would you like to pay for a specific spirit? Or a specific aged spirit? Or test your look with a random draw?"

Long Yue checked his money he'd saved for the past few years and saw that he had enough for any option but in the end decided upon the random draw even with Coldin trying to tell him otherwise.

Showing Long Yue to a machine the man explained how it worked and that all Long Yue has to do was pull a leaver at the side of it.

After the brief explanation Long Yue payed and pulled the leaver after making a quick prayer. A noise came from above and looking up both Coldin and Long Yue saw a hollow glass ball filled with smaller balls with varying colours spinning inside it.

Slowly the balls began to slow down and when they did so a white ball came down a glass tube to in front of Long Yue, seeing this he let out a sigh. Out of curiosity he opened the ball to see which spirit was inside.

When the ball opened a steady mist flowed out of it leaving a flower in the centre looking as ordinary as any the pair had passed upon making there way over to the spirit pavilion.

Long Yue places the ball into a side container that was made for rejects, this meaning that when a spirit master got a spirit soul they didn't want or didn't match with they could send it back to the machine and recover 1/10 of the cost of spinning it.

"Again" Long Yue said as he payed the money to the man. This repeated another four times with the spirit being respectably a lump of metal, an eagle, a snake and finally a gecko that he had just drawn.

Sighing Long Yue had pretty much given up at this point but behind him Coldin looked at the Gecko that he'd just drawn and recognised it. This spirit was known as a Metal Merge Gecko and possessed high defences when compared to other beasts thanks to being able to merge with metal like their name stated.

While pondering Coldin saw the Gecko turn and look at him, in its eyes he could see that it wanted to live, not as a spirit soul but as a beast true and proud.

".....brother I'll buy that gecko from you for two spins of the machine" hearing Coldin a depressed Long Yue turned to him and said with out thinking.

"Deal!" Coldin quickly passed the money over to the male staff member and accepted the gecko from Long Yue which he now had in his hands. The ball the gecko came in was a clear white signalling that it was a 10-49 year old spirit soul. Looking at the little head that popped popped of the ball Coldin stroked hits head with his finger saying "you'll have to wait but I promise you it'll be worth it"
