21 - Tiny Shop

Coldin reached rank 30 while he was camping but decided against absorbing the gecko straight way.

Over the course of this travel he'd become more cautious and knew that if someone was to interrupt him while absorbing the spirit it could mean disaster for him. So he headed to his next stop first.

A mountaintop village was the next place Coldin planned to visit. It had beautiful views and was known to have hot springs which he wanted to try.

The following day Coldin reached this village just before lunchtime so he decided to have a meal then go look for an inn that could house him.

He found a tiny shop by the side of the road and decided to eat there. Getting closer to it he realised that the shop was more than tiny it was minuscule to the point where anyone other than children would struggle to fit through the door.

Seeing a sign on the door saying it was a restaurant and inn he was puzzled, how did people eat here? Let alone stay here.

Curious he knocked on the little door, the door was quickly opened and a girl answered it. She explained that the master of the place had set up spatial barriers that would shrink a person. Apparently this was more convenient but when the girl said it was cause the master is a money grabber she took a pan to the back of her head.

Amused by this unique little shop, Coldin told the girl that he would like to stay and after hearing that the girl handed over a bracelet. She explained that the bracelet would shrink him down to roughly half his size allowing him to enter.

What the girl failed to realise was Coldins actual height. When he shrunk to half his size he was till as tall as an average human. Panicking she could only run insides and get the owner.

All the while Coldin was looking at the bracelet thinking about if he could find one. His height had always been something that caused a headache for him even if he did restrain his height to the limit himself.

Getting a handle of the situation the owner came out, she was a thin lady dressed in a casual dress, her every move seemed to have a unique elegance to them. She quickly released her spirit and a dark mist drifted behind her.

The mist quickly wrapped around the bracelet on Coldins arm, not even a second later Coldin could be seen shrinking while maintaining the same proportions his height shrunk down to that if a child's then even more.

His height now could be seen as the average for eight year old in this new scale. He was shocked beyond belief but still said his thanks to the owner.

The girl who first opened the door for him shouted at the owner but after being told that she only shrunk him to match his age she was stunned. It had to be know Coldin looked more like an adult which was what confused this girl. She quickly asked for his age and after finding out he was eight she became a statue stuck in place.
