9 - The Lake

Coldin stood in front of an artificial lake. Looking out at the calm surface of water he remained silent.

Two years had passed and a lot had happened. After joining the group Coldin learnt that En Ci was a headmaster of an academy leaving him stunned. He also found out that the rest of the adults in the group where teachers, Ma and Ro taught physical combat and the green haired woman, who was introduced later as Anna, was a teacher specialised in speed training and overall movement.

While he didn't not join the academy for personal reasons, En Ci still invited Coldin to stay in the academy as a visitor pupil. This meant that while he wouldn't be taught like everyone else he could still use its facility's and the twins plus Anna offered to help train him if needed.

Coldin was stunned by their acceptance of him but at the same time he also knew that the metal and fruits he brought with him from the cave was also a part of this.

En Ci appeared behind Coldin"kid, are you sure this is the right choice?" remaining quiet Coldin turned to him and nodded with a calm smile on his face.

En Ci sighed with his eyes closed and said "okay I'll keep watch from up here, if you need help use your signal marker" open his eyes back up he didn't see Coldin. A vain popped at his temple -this kids become more cheeky with me as time goes on-

In the water Coldin could be seen swimming down deeper into the water with a smirk on his face, thinking to himself -that definitely pissed him off- this was one of the things he'd picked up from Chloe after seeing how En Ci reacted to her annoying him and couldn't help himself.

Coldin snapped out of think about how pissed off En Ci gets from the little things and focused. The reason he was in this lake was to eat his second spirit ring. While the group did tell Coldin about the spirit pavilion he was unsure as to if his spirit would work with the spirits that could be obtained there. While it was probably just him worrying he felt drawn to this lake and after growing up alongside a wolf he learnt to trust his instincts.

Going deeper and deeper into the lake Coldin passed by various different fishes and other aquatic spirit beasts. Once he was deep enough Coldin began to grow till his overall height was around 13 meters. This was something that others found astonishing. It seemed like the older he got the larger he grew....as moronic as that may sound when talking about normal people Coldin wasn't exactly normal. En Ci and himself had hypothesised that when he unlocked his spirit it unleashed his body's potential or at least that's the only thing hat made sense, well kinda.

Coldin let his body grow as when in the water if he was larger then he could make spirit beasts more cautious of him even if they where stronger.

Coldin kept swimming until he reached the bottom of the lake. Unlike natural lakes this one had a smooth open surface that if not under water could be seen as a vast plane of land.

Something was wrong. There was no spirit beasts anywhere in sight even when Coldin grew to his 'normal' size there where still spirit beast swimming around him but now, nothing?
