2 - Rumour Has it

In an old tavern on the edge of the tundra hushed voices talked back and forth about the state of the world.

"Herd shrek was looking for lil devils again" said a broad man wrapped in a beasts fur to a table of people.

One retorted saying "their always looking for little devils, nothing new, anyone got anything actual interesting unlike brother bear?" Said a woman in a blackened cloak to the table.

One of the smallest in the group said in a old wise voice "have you youngsters heard of the new legend around these parts?" Once the old man said this the table looked to him in both intrigue and anticipation. Using there eyes they urge the old man to go on.

"Legend has it that when the wind and snow rage a silhouette of a wolf and what can only be called human appear at the edge of the town looking at it from within the snow but never coming closer" said the old man in a hushed voice making the group lean in to hear the tale.

They all remained quite processing what was said then one asks after noticing something weird with the tale "grandpa what do you mean by 'what can only be called a human'?" Said a soft voice from the side of one of he largest men.

They all turn to look at the little figure thinking to them selfs, she has a point that part does seem strange. Her grandpa replied to her "well see rumour has it that the human figure towers at three meters tall or if you want a representation that would be like having one and a half of me stood tall"

The table went silent in awe of this was true there was a giant of a man living with a beast in this tundra which was almost unheard of. They all stayed quite letting what the old man said sink in.

"They've names this pair 'The Snows Herald' as they only show up in wild, raging snow storms"

Coldin and Aunt Feng stood together in the vast tundra looking at each other. Coldins eyes and face only displaying one emotion dread. While Aunt Fengs face showed a tranquil look or at least as tranquil as a wolf could look.

"Aunt Feng are you sure there's no other way?" Said Coldin looking to cling on to anything for hope but Aunt Feng only shook her head. Coldin dropped to his knees, the ground rumbled as he did so.

~child, my child, it's okay I've lived a long life and if I do this at least I can give you a final helping hand in this life~ said Aunt Feng while resting her head on his shoulder trying to comfort him.

Coldin began crying wrapping his arms around Aunt Fengs mech hugging her, sobbing all the while.

~child, you know what to do when I leave. We've seen the villages around here and you have a path to begin your journey. Be glad you'll finally get a chance to go find your dad~ whispered Aunt Feng

"NO I DONT WANT YOU TO LEAVE, I DONT WANT TO DO THIS WITHOUT YOU!" Screamed Coldin into the air while snow began to twist around their body's, obscuring this scene of a boy crying to a wolf.

Aunt Feng said her final words ~you can do it Coldin, I know you can. I'll always be with you just in a different form....and happy birthday son" As a tear ran from her eye she began to become one with the snow circling Coldin.
